NIT Are you a quiz holder ?? And you have the Gaul to come on here and slate FOOT LOL !!
Debacle The city code also states JD can increase their holding should someone or entity make a move for acquisition, I.E let’s say a third party were to make a dawn raid on any number of shares in mass OR the interested party were clearly identified as a potential “Take over candidate” JD could increase their holding and cross the threshold without notice Unfortunately Pentland cannot make a buy as this is classed as a concert party move. For me JD are poised, and in reality are protecting their rival from MA, Should MA make a bid then they are in a position to easily increase their holding to threshold. That’s my take on the situation, MA is an example but also the most likely candidate in this scenario imo DYOR GL
Have you got a split personality?
This is going to absolutely tank. Margins are terrible at the moment. They must make the acquisition.
If they've already agreed, there'd be an RNS.....
Nope, company isn’t worth that much. Will be between 75p-£1 in my opinion and that’s only if it happens within the next couple of months.
@ 75p I would be very surprised if the board did accept, maybe you meant £1.75?
JD can make an offer if FOOT board approves it and at 75p I would be very surprised if the board has not already agreed to this.
very true but nothing stopping Pentland Group from making an offer.
Just to be clear here - Under rule 2.8, JD cannot make an offer for Foot for 6 months unless agreed by the board (other scenarios being discounted). All we have is an intention to acquire up to 29.9% and confirmation that it is not intending to make an offer. JD are not yet at 29.9 and the premium price paid so far was surely just to prize large chunks away from the previous holders who required a decent return. No-one is clear how they intend to acquire the remaining shares but I would suggest that this may be over a longer term than some appear to be hoping for. If you are looking for the takeover then bear the above in mind, otherwise be invested based on the fundamentals of the business. DYOR
Here seems an appropriate place to ask since it can only be retail who would sell at this price..
What is the motive to sell when these shares were changing hands at 50% higher (early 60s) not even 10 days ago. Other than playing straight into market maker hands, what is the risk factor here knowing JD sports are buying another 10% of the non existent float any moment (and the previous 20% has been bought up to 75p), there could easily be a buyout/bidding war and the family that hold most of the shares IPOd it at £1.60. .
I just cannot get my head into the mindset of the drip sellers that enable the MMs to flush it lower. The lower it goes the more the retail traders sell. My head is scrambled by it.
Oh whatever. You're obsessed with this so called takeover and look at every trade! Just sit back and relax. If you believe it's going to happen then just wait.
To the other holders I wish you the very best of luck. I still have a small holding.
Not angry Rich, just banter.
Lots of angry people on this board. Very strange place to be.
I’m sitting tight, the deal is coming...
Rahan, I’ll post when I like and if you don’t like it you can lick the sweat from Santas sack for all I care. “Investing is like buying a house?” Really? I won’t be holding these for twenty five years... (average mortgage)
What an idiot you are Nit ! Why are you wasting your time here ?
Fantastic statement and great advice to investing. I have 60k shares at average 50p and am holding till they get to £1.50. DYOR GLA
Firstly, umber of messages does not have any relationship with experience.
Secondly, your behaviour tells me that your profile is more a short.term trader rather than an "investor". If you were an investor, you would act as when you purchase a house, probably you are not looking the price of the square every minute.
If you are in, then you are in. I am an investor of this company and I have tried to provide relevant info or tried to asked relevant questions to make a decision. I think your comments on MM's buying 100 shares, 10k or whatever is your interpretation looking at the screen... is not relevant for any of the participants in this board.
Please, try to provide relevant info.
Why would I take the advice from Rahan to disconnect from a share I have a nice sizeable amount in? Why would I also use his subject line "My recommendation is to disconnect" so that others can also do the same and have that subject written all across the board... No thanks, keep your 33 post and experience, I am happy to comment on the share price movement, it calms my nerves knowing that the MMs are playing games, makes me want to buy more. As for Nithav06, well, I am sure ADMIN are watching you …..
Why are you still posting then Nit? I don’t expect you to start answering my questions now by the way ;)
Excellent post. People keep posting about buys and sells everyday who cares? If you believe in the company (I don't), then sell up.
"As highlighted in the Company's Admission Document, Barry Bown has committed to join the Board as Executive Chairman on or around 1 June 2018. Barry has over 30 years' retail experience, most of which was gained at the JD Sports chain which he joined in 1984 and where he served as Chief Executive from 2000 until 2014. The new consulting role will enable Barry to work closely with the Company ahead of his formal appointment to the Board. The Board believes that Barry's extensive experience of building a listed retail business and his excellent relationships with many major brands will enable him to make a valuable contribution to the Company's leadership team."
You will stress yourself if you keep looking the trades minute by minute. There is nothing that you can do right now. If you beleive in company's management and fundamentals, then you either hold your current position or build it. If you have no confidence, then it would make sense to sell and go and look for other investment.
For me the discussion is over now. I have finished building my planned position this week and I won't be following it, unless I receive a further update by meail of a new RNS.
The real discussion time regarding its fundamentals and viability, is when a the company release official information to the public, otherwise it is just wasting our time with the desired scenarios. I invested a lot of time during the release of the trading statement by the company and took a decision - Since then I have been loading as I see it undervalued and I beleive in the strategy presented by the management.
Its true that the free float is smaller now thanks to the entrance of JD, and in case there is a positive update, then there will be a fight to get FOOT shares which due to the lack of supply, the share will increase rapidly.
JD may or may not provide further updates on this movement, so don't stress yourself. And not get into discussions.
Good Luck to all - And any relevant info (with a reliable source) is more than welcome.
Cmon lets grab a little more eh.. 17:09 .. 10K … Let the share price fly and we can all be happy :)
It was a sell, but it looks like the mm's were happy to soak it up without touching the bid...implying they may still be filling an order. I have seen them drop it recently on far smaller sales.
