The FBT job advertised by Micheal Page. Based in South West London, their Senior Leadership Team boasts some of the most innovative people in the space and they are set to achieve massive growth in the next 18 months . Massive growth in the next 18 months. Looks to me like FBT have loads in the pipeline, and are gearing up. I think we are about to take off.
We have life.
I completely agree pokerchips, if the PoC was indeed failing to deliver for whatever reason that surely would have an impact on the whole team at FBT and with news out that now deal is to be made FBT will loose credibility and possibly futher contracts ( can only guess) resulting in less money to pay staff etc. When the company is going on a recruitment spree it only tells me one thing, that they are expecting a big step up in growth and need the staff to handle this growth and drive company into future. Nothing is a dead cert we all know but im still holding onto the bullish feeling that there will have a positive outcome to the PoC. And hopefully know about this very shortly. I think another delay could kill off any support weve found at the 4-5p range and market will dislike any delays. Time will tell but still happy with holding at the moment :)
recruitment blitz suggests that at very least they are very confident of getting the PoC confirmed as a success and at an increased scale. They cannot have signed contracts yet since that would trigger an RNS given that the PoC itself was given that treament. The announcement of the merger of BBC Studios and BBC Worldwide may be one of the things that has been holding up an announcement, the other being the North American involvement - if it were AAPL the next significant date is the release of FCPX 10.4 due on or before 31/12/2017. The calibre and numbers of people being recruited are an indication that the values are very significant - clearly they must be a multiple of the salaries, bonuses and on costs associated with the new postions - and may well be over 1M and maybe considerably more.
The fact that they are clearly thinking big with regardsto these vacancies....does that suggest that the POC is in the bag and they are preparing for the next stage? Why would you create such key vacancies if your POC pivot contract was looking a dud ???
"and they are set to achieve massive growth in the next 18 months." Question is....will they look for a placing to get them there ?
I think this was mentioned on the other site but this appears to be another job to add to the list :- https://www.michaelpage.co.uk/job-detail/senior-marketing-marketing/ref/13870953 "My client is one of the most exciting companies in Broadcast and Video Communications. Based in South West London, their Senior Leadership Team boasts some of the most innovative people in the space and they are set to achieve massive growth in the next 18 months."
It sounds as though he has taken on SS's vision but with content fed from visible branded suites a master brand is difficult to establish. We need to hope a high profile adopter for selective parts of its business- like our national broadcaster - allows FBT to widely publish the collaboration. I also think media courses should have free use of Blackbird so students going into the industry are quickly able to judge the merits of software they use compared with the so-called master brand.
Hoping so. Before end of year anyway if no delays are publish. Hoping for some positive news to get back some momentum and kick start FBT in reaching a better mcap. PoC news round the corner !!
"Blackbird, the patented technology that powers Forscene is the key point of difference in the company portfolio and a brand that the company deserves master brand status. Elevating this brand to that level will be one of the key projects for the successful applicant." Blackbird - master brand status !! You begin to get the impression that Ian knows exactly where he wants to take Forscene and Blackbird and is now looking for the right people to get them there..

"The POC extension should allow for broader visibility of the potential value of Forscene, and may allow the Company to extend its presence within the broadcaster."...David Main said in the POC Extension RNS ..extend its presence? .....into steaming live sport ???
They can post as many blogs as like but the only thing that will get the shares to rise substantially is announcements of contracts leading to decent cash flow . The silence is deafening . The reason that there has been a news blackout is that there has not been anything to announce . Failing that the company will need another placing in about six or nine months time to stay afloat . I am sure that there are competitors as well . FBT has been a total disaster so far . But fingers crossed and hope they finallly produce some results . Sorry to be cynical to all you eternal optimists but the only thing that matters is fundamentals which at the moment are dreadful . I really hope that they prove my doubts wrong . Some decent long term contracts will get the shares moving but the odd one off contract for a sporting event will not .
An excellent in depth article.....everything they mentions falls back to cutting costs and providing a cheaper produced production. " but increasingly were doing live events entirely in the cloud, " A key part of the equation is rollout of remote production to further streamline costs" " and on to a world where all conventional production tools are software running in the cloud controlled by web browser. One has to hope that the new CEO is currently preparing a rather comprehensive RNS ... I was hoping we would get a Thanksgiving gift......may be it will be a pre Xmas suprise !! Clock is ticking
Great link :) Hopefully get some news before end of the year. I was hoping before the xmas holidays but id settle for any day! Def need a little positive boost in SP, possibly a positive POC outcome? Well that indeed would brighten up the day
Could this be the news we are all waiting for. Is Forscene part of the workflow. https://www.svgeurope.org/blog/headlines/bbc-on-course-to-produce-live-sport-entirely-in-the-cloud/
With respect SS, The market tends to recognise value......once the placings stop
What's his idea of long term...FBT been around for 18 years and no return on shareholder value as yet to be fair
Fill your boots I think SS is giving us a nod and a wink. "Having said that, my best investments have been long term holdings in tech companies where Ive got in years before the market has recognised value. In investment, you make your money by choosing well and waiting."
Jim I suspect Ian has taken a long and detailed look at how every aspect of the company is managed and costed. I have the feeling at some point he is going to make some changes to the company structure/personnel and costings as he sees who does what and whether their position/contribution is relevant for the journey ahead. Whilst there indeed has been little to read of late and I too am waiting for Ian to provide some much needed feedback...I am sure ..that when it comes it will be quite comprehensive in its content It could well be that all efforts have been on delivering the POC result and the US media giant Trial success....which of course would be the launching pad for everything..going forward It certainly would be a great RNS if it could be revealed that Forscene was going to be used as part of the forthcoming Winter Olympics, either by the US media giant (NBC ??) or indeed Eurosport or BBC and Ian may well have been working hard for that particular foot in the door
There has been a major news blackout over the past few months. I would've expected more deals to filter through in H2 and revenue bolstered. The only thing that seems to be going up is the number of blog/website posts. If the tech is as good as they make out then the uptake should be equally as good. A very disgruntled shareholder!
What's new from Field59? We’re pleased to announce the roll-out of a new, efficient workflow improvement to the Forscene editor! Forbidden Technologies’ Forscene cloud editor provides fast, remote visibility of video assets, enabling users to easily clip, edit, and caption digital content. Forscene But first! A brief history of Forscene and Field59 Field59’s partnership with Forbidden dates back more than a decade. Field59 staff (at the time with Broadcast Interactive Media) worked with Forbidden to pioneer frame-accurate editing for digital publishing of local television video. An Improved Publishing Workflow Our most recent collaborative project introduces a more efficient publishing workflow via a new Field59 button, accessible in the left-hand menu in the editor. Now, by using the new Field59 button, users can pre-populate Title, Summary, Description, and Tags/Keywords, as well as change the Category from the default of News, without toggling between the Forscene and Field59 interfaces. This will save users time for each video published, and will be especially useful when publishing multiple clips in a row. New Field59 menu button plus additional metadata within Forscene All of this data is now passed to our customer’s Field59 account along with the rendered video clip!
