Gazprom is expected to pay a dividend in 2021, which would imply a 12-13% yield on the current share price
ENW and JKX should pay a dividend as well. Never been a better moment. Will they? Still not sure.
Gazprom is expected toG
Regarding gas supplies, you need to understand a few things
Until recently, Gazprom supplied a bulk of its gas to Europe under long-term contracts with a gas price formula, which was linked to a basket of oil products. Normally, with a six month time lag
That guaranteed stability of gas prices for all - both for Gazprom and for consumers
When gas prices dropped, most European customers insisted they would buy gas from Gazprom at spot prices. Contracts were amended. For some time that benefited Gazprom's clients, as spot prices were on a lower side
All changed in 2021, once there is a shortage of gas in Europe, not least because of a substantial demand increase in Asia
Currently, 60-70% of Gazprom's exports to Europe are sold at spot prices. Given supply constraints, it dawned on Gazprom very quickly that all they need to do is to decrease supplies by 10-20% and that will result in 100-200% increase in gas prices. Very shrewd of them, in my view
That's exactly what they have done to boost Gazprom's bottom line. As a result, this will be a record year for Gazprom. Have a look at its share price. I wish we had a similar pattern for our small cap Ukrainian gas peers
There are no constraints on gas production in Russia. Gazprom, Novatek, Rosneft and few other companies can all increase gas production immediately, if needed
Hey, OfficerFigby
I am in, both in ENW and JKX. Approximately 50/50 currently, given most recent increase in JKX
Both stocks are at ridiculously low levels, given where gas prices are. ENW should trade at 60p, as a bare minimum
We should get 6 months financials any time soon, hopefully, this week. Then, there's SV well announcement this month. Expect some boost in the share price, as a result
I just uploaded an article on Enwell and JKX, and the logic for calculating FY 21 earnings is similar to yours.
https://en.investorblog.gr/enwell-jkx-undervalued-natural-gas-skyrocketing/
Check also JKX, it is a similar story. Both seem to be very undervalued.
Krok,
Your know stuff and are somewhat local.
The gas price has precipitated a change in you opinion of ENW prospects this year.?
I agree 60p would make sense with prices already > 2018. Means $20m a quarter in the bank for ENW.
Recent interest in JKX will perhaps kick start some interest here next week.
Are you already back holding big here or not?
Despite all the problems production is rising year on year. Things here look steady compared to JKX.
ThE gas price issue in the Ukraine: is that a direct result fo supply restriction from Russia. OR are there issues in Russia with prices spiralling there. I wonder as Prices in Europe seem to be because partially at least because of restricted Russia supply. With Nord stream 2 coming on line soon things might change in Europe but not Ukraine?
It is a slow moving company.
Drilling is slow. Testing is slow and steady.
They appraise the various regions and chose which one to produce. Previously they had to change the region after a non consistent flow was found in the target.
Would we prefer bad news/good news roller coaster. OR just the best final result reported.?
End of Q3 is End of September.
It is a significant - as usual in the majority announcements of the company- delay re the SV’s results.I hope to be for good reasons …or …no?
Wish I'd cashed out a few years back. The problems remain that there is no dividend or sufficient free float of shares to generate any significant return on investment. Shareholders are as always at the wim of the major shareholder.
A steady rise up to 35p before people twig that is still got value and plenty to go - one to tuck away and reap the rewards in due course.
The link below gives a little history and more importantly future development.

Seems that nobody cares about this and a few other similar stocks any longer
At current gas prices the stock should trade at 60p minimum
In late 2018-early 2019 it touched 60p three times, all at much lower gas prices and similar or lower production
Now it is like a walking dead

Not bad I think...
I expect by next Friday the news for SV-29.I’d like to believe this time we’ll have an amount of =>1,000 boepd.
The interim results due in 3 weeks also with record price for gas > since 2018.
So the share price has no other way except to go north.Enjoy the ride.
Now quoting 18,360.
UEEX now showing September quote:

Good to see a bit of positive sp movement in response to the rising POG.
I am glad to see Enwell to be atractive by FT according to:
https://www.investorschronicle.co.uk/alpha/2021/07/15/ask-the-right-questions-of-quality-aim-shares/
Thanks for that Gareth.
I agree, they've been sitting on this cash pile for some time now and believe that would be the main Catalyst to move the SP. My main issue with the company is the lack of engagement from management.
I could understand the reluctance to distribute while gas prices were weak and then Covid concerns, but we look to be well over them now. Special divi would be a good start, but would also like to see them diversify outside of the Ukraine too. There could be plenty of opportunity to do so with many of the majors selling assets over ESG concerns.
FYI I have informed LSE of the issue with the missing RNS's and they are looking into it.
Just read the update and it is a pleasing one. Good to see the cash pile growing, but the old story of what to do with that cash pile continues to go unanswered! A special dividend if gas prices continue to hold at these levels would be a nice boost for share holders.
Thanks for the message, I have also noticed the issue with ENW RNS's not being displayed on this message.
I will now go read the update for myself.
I am very puzzled by the lack of interest in this share. We should be benefitting from the surge in gas prices.
Very happy with todays update. Big increase in production and a nice cash build while also having capex commitments. Ukraine gas prices really started to surge now which will add further upside for Q3. Surprised at the lack of interest here. Something I have noticed which is rather strange is that the LSE website has not displayed any of the RNS releases for ENW sice January. Any ideas on why this might be?
So far so good for your prediction, hovering just below 25p.
Key 22p level breached. Can see this now heading to 28p. Results update in a couple of weeks will show decent quarterly cash increase.
Krok, agree with what you say about Novisky.
Oldholder has it wrong historically proposal was never to take over fully and delist. That was the competing proposal. He can delist tomorrow with no cost as >82% voting rights.
But I think ENW going to profit now with rising gas prices. Cash goes up mate!
The new fields will hopefully give some good news at certain point but not sure if fast enough for some here.
