was up at 1.4091 as at the 27th November - that's a 27% increase in 2014. the other AHL funds are doing well too, and hopefully is leading to some chunky performance fees this year.
pardon?! that's from the 28th feb 2013.....you'd make a good journalist on a tabloid with that attention to detail....
just noticed we've hit a 1 year high in the sp today...long may this continue!
bet whoever sold it at 108p at the low last month is feeling a bit of a muppet
A rather nice day here today, tipped in the mail on sunday .

I wouldn't be happy about that!!
I hope it went through!
AHL (estimate for end of day 6 nov) UP 0.7 to 1.3679 23.4% up for the year well above the high water mark "for now" lets hope they can keep this momentum chugging along to year end in 8 weeks god damn it!!
21.4% up on the YTD
Glad as I am to see the move today, it just goes to show how behind the curve private investors are when it comes to getting access to information. I've not seen any obvious reason for the push higher today (CS uprating can't hurt, but can't account for 5% rally, surely, unless it forced a load of short covering). The last time we had big moves was just before the announcement of Man;s last set of figures which despite being great, saw the share price fall. I don't buy into the conspiracy theories banded around on here, but I do accept that as private investors, we are the last ones to hear of any market-moving information. Lets hope we are finally breaking out of the 115-125 range ad see a decent run from here.
No there doesn't seem to be anything specific to relate to the jump (other than a good AHL increase), I think what you are seeing is a stock going up that is no longer deliberately being held at 120p. I am keeping in on this one (despite a lot of buying and selling over the last 2 years) now the block has gone (for some reason) I want to see where it goes. At the very least It should be 135p-155p now and I suspect the dividends will now increase dramatically (back to original levels 8% +) soon. AHL is doing very well now so this should reflect in the long term price too.
Bit early for them perhaps?
or a rumour / leak about our Q3 results???
Credit Suisse upgrade to outperform could be reason for rise. No **** sherlock, it's outperformed the sector for months.
Anyone have any ideas about what's happening today?
Dips still holding above 120p
Dear Fatlad - That was a bit odd you just made a post at the exact same time as I mentioned you - syncronicity there somewhere :-)
Yes the artificial shorting at 120 holding seems to have gone now (or at least hiding), there don't seem to be any odd trades or suspicious activity now, and seems to be starting to head up nicely. So something has changed, could be too many people were pointing it out, and it was too obvious. But then that would imply someone cared :-) Anyway at least it will hopefully be a fair ride now. See what Fatlad thinks.
with AHL being down to $1.3133 (Oct 29). Must be on the up.
up above 122, rising to 123+
GLG still rising and they still fiddle Man's SP back down below £1.20. Would be a strong buy if the LSEx hadn't degenerated into the mess it is in.
Again.... Trading in the same range as before the manufactured knockdown ahead of the Q3 figures. Quite tiresome really.
