So this is interesting, there's still almost 8m warrants that will be likely exercised in the next month (7818750, issue price 4p, expiry 19/11/23) so I guess we may see another "blob" hit the market being sold and the SP taking a hit... probably a half decent opportunity to top up though given the rest of he news was reasonably positive...
Well aging myself as a holder here, you'll probably be annoyed to hear that at one point JLP used to own it's own electricity generator and used to sell quite a lot of electricity back to the grid. A decision was made (I'm going to guess c5 years back) to sell this...
Also note that the warrants expire in the near future so they are probably just making sure they get value before they expire. Good news is there shouldn’t be any more warrants popping up past January…
It's just a reflection of sentiment and market demand. If there are more sellers than buyers then your trade will get booked at the bottom end of the spread / spectrum as a "sell" if there are more buyers than sellers then you will sell at the top end of the spread as a "buy" (the MM's will presumably be moving the spread up shortly after to try and profit regardless of where you buy / sell).
I apologise, that was just the first example that jumped into my head. Next time I’ll try to be non-political. It doesn’t change my view though, there’s baseless ramping on here which detracts from the quality of this board. Fair enough to say “X” is on the horizon and “Y” could be happening soon, this is a good share to buy but trying to claim that a 1p increase in the SP is the start of something huge when clearly it’s just a tiny movement because the whole sector has just moved up a notch due to the underlying asset increasing in value. This is misleading and also dangerous for anyone gullible enough to put that comment on an even weighting with some of the better researched and all round more valuable posts on here. That’s why I called it out!
Why? It's just moving up a bit because of the higher price of oil and marginally improved sentiment towards Oil stocks. Nothing fundamentally has changed yet so there will be no "significant moves" at all. You really need to stop misleading people with this baseless ramping, it's like Trump saying that he's not a racist and is a genius over and over, just because you say it a lot doesn't mean it'll come true.
I've been following for a while as I think that this could be a cracking share to hold for 10 years + I'm just biding my time waiting for that trend to reverse (and some others to hit their targets to sell). I guess the trend will always be negative whilst they are spending money with no profits to show yet but I think as taking a key position in one of the major growing markets over the next generation I don't think you can go too wrong here. I take today as positive btw, another step and that's the problem, the market likes jumps not steps.
I'm pretty confident that almost all if not all of the AHL funds are now in performance fee territory, the HWM was previously 1.28 or so and we are apparently knocking around the high 1.4's, it will be interesting to see how much of the performance fees filter through to us shareholders really. If this can start being a v high dividend paying share then I think it could support a much higher sp on yield alone...
