Considering the sp has been modestly positive for a few days. Are we witnessing the start of a substantial move north or is the sp going to remain prisoner to market trends and company news?
Hi - ok, so a 0.36p plus 0.26p rise today - not dramatic but useful - GLA - Cheers - The Kid -
.. the breakout. if it hasnt gone on the pix and related divestments, then who knows when it will go. the only logical date where we can expect a push past 50p is dec 17th onwards. shame really. one would have hoped it was at 60p before that.
Gosh I thought today would be the day this stock starts its ascend....how wrong i was. Need news flow to fuel this! or going to have to wait another month!
Massive Xmas sales due 50p in a few weeks
Hi - thanks a lot for that response - good luck - Cheers - useful rise yesterday but I expect it will be quickly eroded once again - yes, we need the next excellent trading update to give this another push - The Kid -
I think you could be right
lots of buys going through so far Maybe we edge up over the 47p by end of the day
I am not really the person to give much advice on day trading since it is not something I often do. However, I am occasionally tempted in by what appear to be unjustifiably and large downward movements of sp. I only do this with stocks I understand to some extent. So to use the e.g. of Anite which I bought and sold within a couple of hours. Over the years I have held this stock, on and off. In fact I sold it at a profit in June when it was £1.30. On Wednesday they issued a profits warning of sorts-reading between the lines it was clear that the situation was not so serious as to justify the market marking down the sp by a third. With the sp at 74p it seemed to me a safe day trade. or maybe two day trade. In The event it moved up quickly and I took my profit. Had I stayed init rose substantially after I sold. How many times does that happen. So is life! As for advice, can only suggest the obvious, have some knowledge of the stock and its value.
Hi - Thanks for that - yes, that is a very interesting point - however, rightly or wrongly, I am not keen on the thought of spreadbetting - what I like about day trading is that if you fail to get out with a quick-fire profit, you are still sitting there the next day to have another go - if you get it wrong with spreadbetting I have to assume you can lose rather too much and that is final !! - Good luck with your activities, but I am still looking for advice on day trading - any more suggestions - Thanks -
Dont fret. The stores are going to be doing well. The SP on the other hand...
I think she must know the signs are good that the share will rise above this price Darbatoll or she would not be buying, perhaps we will get over that 50p. would be great to know how the stores are doing though, sounds like online is good.
I spreadbet almost exclusively, which is pretty close to day trading in someways I guess but no stamp and no tax. Happy to move to emails if you like - be good to chat. I've done this for about 3 years casually and then the last year full time. Is there a PM facility on here?
Hi - thanks for your comments - You mention making a quick £500 in two hours - I assume we are talking day trading - Have been thinking of having a go at this rather exciting practice - can it be done with under 20k though - the main trouble as I see it is the 0.5% stamp duty - even at 20k that amounts to £100 to be cleared in just one buy/sell - plus the two buy/sell fees = say £20 - this is what put me off - are there ways around the SD ? - any clues to this day trading would be much appreciated - can go to private emails if you prefer - All the best for now - Cheers -
Reassuring to see internal purchases.
The Co. Sec may know a thing or two ... she has dipped in her pocket ..
anyone on the 'inside' know how the stores are doing?
ref your earlier post, thanks for tech info, i think poss due to other opportunities such as RM the sp has not risen recently as much as it should, but overall in has been fantastic in the last 12 mths, I suspect it will start to make inroads in Nov in anticipation to the the results in Dec, I suspect we might get to 50p before results ( at least one would hope so) I also hope the USA situation is resolved and not simply kicked down the road with yet another date, mind you their debt is eyewatering
50p!!! This is really stuck at the moment, every time it looks set to move on out of its range 45/46.50 it retreats back to the depths. How frustrating it is. It is going to take some news to move it out of the range and it is not likely that we will get that before Nov 17th. I cannot imagine that trading has been anything other than outstanding. Reporting that sort of news to the market will see you hit the target of 50p. However, it may well continue old habits a slide back into the higher 40s, so take it when you can. In and out of Anite yesterday made a nice little profit of £500 in just over two hours. Lloyds my biggest holding is another stuck in a range. One day everything will come to fruition, me thinks!!
Dixons expects web traffic through to its Currys and PC World websites to explode. thank you Lancygeo, interesting to here the company so positive using words like explode. Hopefully, 50p+ here we come (perhaps by year end?)
Hi - excellent response, well done - was just checking you out - past with flying colours - To be fair to Tesco, I did glance at their tablets whilst purchasing a six-pack of long black socks - but, as you say, the checkout girl seemed a trifle confused when I questioned her about how long the battery charge would last for !!! - now heavily loaded with this stock - am prepared to wait for the 50p plus range to emerge - can understand peeps frustration on the sleepy SP though ! Cheers - The Kid -
Cheers! Wish everyone on this BB the very best with their trading!
thanks for the post really appreciate it. cheers Bob
Thank you for that posting. I too took advantage of the sub 45 sp and still believe this has great long term potential but I really would like to see it push through 48p and then 50p. Not much to ask because it has breached 48p a few weeks ago. Again thanks for your posting, always interesting and informative.
