Today is an extremely important day in the UK. The Office for National Statistics just unveiled the official growth figures for the third quarter, and they make for great reading, with preliminary gross domestic product (GDP) figures surpassing expectations. This is the first indication of how the UK economy is performing in the aftermath of the Brexit vote, and going by this data, the British economy is doing quite well. The day has started on a pleasant note in the Eurozone too, as the Spanish unemployment rate dropped to its lowest level since 2009 during the third quarter of this year. Across the Atlantic, the US data docket will witness the release of durable goods orders, pending home sales and the weekly jobless claims data, all due later in the day.

The code on this board is dc, so come on down and join us there.
3022 DC Shares = £10548 19500 DXNS = £10315 You are up!
19500*0.155 =3022 new shares
My calculation show im down by a large chunk even though I'm following everyone's calculations. I don't get it! Again! Anyone help me here with 19500 dix shares work outewhat I now have?
Anybody know it?
Your calculation would be correct if this was purely a Dixons share consolidation. You need to add Dixons maket cap to Carphone's ie £1,962.25m + £1,977.07m = £3939.32m Shares in issue ----- Dixons 3,705.86m * 0.155 = 574.41m + Carphone 576.07m = 1,150.48m Market cap £3939.32m divided by shares 1,150.48m = £3.42
:)
If you multiply the number of your shares by 52.75p then times that by .155 it should equate to about £3.39-£3.40. I think
Hi mate So is that what the new allocations will be, I have a large holding which is several thousand up, so will I lose that tomorrow as Dix closed at 52.75p ?
According to my calculations the opening price should be £3.39 - £3.40
With the reduction in shares we will be allocated, anyone know what price they will be issued at, surely won't be opening price ?
A quick calculation says sp should open at £3.424
Olddixonian-The new company will have twice the market capitalisation and twice the number of shares. Can't see your problem. You will be no better and noworse off after the consolidation. The bonus will be when the newly formed company's shares take off and I believe they will when all the dust has settled!
Dixons share capital is being "purchased" by the issue of new shares therefore although the new group share capital will be Carphones and Dixons combined there will be twice as many shares as currently issued by Carphone hence the sp will be approx the same as now
It does seem strange that the whole acquistion of Dixons share capital by CPW adds precisely nothing to the newly merged companies (Dixons Carphone) share price ! despite having twice the market capitalisation. A bit of a give away if you ask me.
I do not understand how that works out, i.e. cpw price today is group price tomorrow. Maybe thick, but explain please.
Just got to watch CPW share price for today as these will be same value as the new shares allocated tomorrow. CPW currently up trading at 345p ATB folks Bob
Shares now suspended - should open at about £3.39 - £3.40.
400*0.155 =62 new shares
hi can anyone tell me how many shares you get in new company for each dkns share i've only got 400 in dixons so how many would i have in new company i've poly and can't seem to get my head around it
Post merger the 2015 & 2017 Bonds will be redeemed on 21st August 2014 leaving the new group debt free apart from normal rolling credit agreements. With expected elevation to ftse the future looks much better
