That's an uncrossing trade, not a "big buy". Take a look at this for an explanation http://wiki.advfn.com/en/Uncrossing_Trade
8 million bought at 4.35
Guys-been here since 2011-bought in at 10p.seems to me most of the problems have been ironed out- and they were numerous. On Thursday we have a huge dominant retailer with immense resources.can only see good things for the future .expect Thursday to be turbulent .Ill stay until it nudges 60p-around Christmas them I'll start to reduce my holding .gla .
Mr Barclay, Maverick out..!!?? ...Cant believe it..!!! Lol
That is always the question. Somebody wants the shares - more buyers than sellers, big volume. I am in a quandry as always when it is looking good, bail with profit or hang in for more. Usually I do nothing and hope for the best. Can't handle the pressure of day trading.
Sold 20%, not sure if to sell another 30% I always seem to miss out on the big increases, if the SP goes up 10p Thursday I would miss out on 000's if I sell to early...mmmmmmmmmmm !
Why not sell half of them, thats what I tend to do if not sure ( it worked out quite well for me in the past with certain shares).
With a big holding, not sure how many to keep today with not knowing what the SP will do on Thursday when the trading stats!
With the value of the new company being close to 4bil it will without doubt be elevated to the Footsie. All institutions running tracker funds (there are hundreds of them) are required to hold a percentage of those companies which will increase the value of DCPW. Added to this is the old saying (blar blar blar and don't come back till St Ledger day) which works out 80% of the time and this year is one of those times. It is almost inevitable that the new company's share price will rise above 60p (old value) by the year end and assuming there are no skeletons in the cupboard then the new company is a sure fire winner which will make those bailing out now look foolish. IMO.
Not sure why, but I dont see much of a drop from the SP and if anything it should be a stronger company with the merger. Good luck to all in whatever you decide at the close of play..............
after 2 years in this stock, today I will get out. No reflection on the stock, but personally have no idea where they are going with CPW yet. May be back in the future. Good luck all and all the best.
Today is the last day of trading DIX and shares are suspended tomorrow as the merger goes to court ahead of the 7th Aug, so anyone not sure if to stay in, today you need to decode ! GL all
Shorts carry through to new group. Stagnation period is nearly over, by the end of the week we will see what the markets make of dxns/cpw group. I think we will see some interesting news emerging and a good move north with the sp.
typo as above
Encouraging to see the price holding up after last weeks dip. As always thought I should have sold at and was depressed at the drop, but now it is back up, have cheered up. Quiet board but I suppose nothing much to do but wait for the moment. Just out of curiosity does anyone know what happens to the short positions when the share mergers - do they just transfer over into the new share at the same ratio and equivalent short ? About 1.82% shorted at the moment.
it's the final count down to we are shares are suspended, going to be interesting if we have a last minute sell or buys !
Thanks moneymaker
CPH currently pay 4p, now much but something I guess. Expect the new business to be at least this when the merger is completed.
Where do we think this will sit when the merger is completed ?
Hi All - the deadness of this BB continues to astound me - WHOOZZEE - just what is so interesting - your posting was welcome but brief and did not really convey an awful lot to the throngs of regulars bouncing in and out of here - !!! - Glad for holders of this stock that it is still holding up well - I still feel a small drop during the conversion period may happen, but then all should become clear and the Dixons Carphone plc stock should continue on its way northward - Cheers - Rory -
.
Hi All - especially Whoozzee and Deducter...I think you all may have gathered by now that I am not quite 104 - just yet - being a bit of a tease there - but I often feel it - I have done exactly what I touted a few days back - have got out at 51.15 which I was happy enough with - went down thereafter which always makes you feel better - I will certainly be back in as soon as the excitement of the conversion period has settled - Have popped into PDL having taken advantage of the big crash yesterday, after it had soared previously following some excellent results - must be almost certain to recover from yesterdays big fall - big seller was forced to sell their holding which makes a big difference in how the city will see the sale from here on - Cheers - Rory -
Happy belated Birthday Mr B....What did the wife get you..?
hoping that is stays above 50 and we have had some good rises.
Have sold :(
