Not shopped in stores for a few months since the merge but made a trip today and I was impressed with the service and the range of products. Even the quality of the store fittings and pos seemed to be better quality. Pleasing that investment in stores continues as customers were still enjoying interacting with the gadgets and then purchasing in store. Good to see a nice spike. £5 after results shouldn't be a problem.
Prelims are going to be a good set.
Top up now. Brokers are forecasting 4.80-5.20 http://www.hl.co.uk/shares/shares-search-results/d/dixons-carphone-plc-ordinary-0.1p/broker-forecasts
Bigsi2306....The q4 trading update is on 3 jun and full year prelims are announced on 16 july. It will be a good set of numbers! Top up before we really start to rocket! Many brokers have a 5.00/5.20 strong buy on DC.
Top up time. If AO are struggling it means more customers than ever are coming to DC.AO can't compete with the services DC offer nor have the distribution network.
Expect this to drift between 4.25-4.40 until the summer months when it will no doubtedly hit the £5 mark. It tends to rise around full year if it's been a good set of results which this will be. Slopes off again August time so now's the time to top up.
On the way up again. Yesterday was a brilliant top up opportunity. This is certainly set to keep rising. Kotsovolos is still the no.1 in Greece and people still need electrical appliances. Euro definitely a reason for the dip. I'm staying put with this one!
Plenty of good quality buys on this stock today. It's going to be a great set of results!
More confidence in electrical retailers especially after sales support and technical knowhow rather than buying off the shelf at the supermarkets given recent blunders of a main player.
I'm holding out on this long term. Looking good already and not even in the peak of peak yet!
Does anyone know if and when any dividends are to paid out? And how much per share? Thanks
Syria issues will have affected market confidence as a whole not just dc
My calculation show im down by a large chunk even though I'm following everyone's calculations. I don't get it! Again! Anyone help me here with 19500 dix shares work outewhat I now have?
Thanks redgetz. Ok I'm going to sit it out and watch this one get back into the ftse 100. I appreciate your time and help.
I have a large shareholding. Following the information sent to me by Dixons Group with the share allocation information, then following several people's formulaes on here to estimate current value of the new shareholding, I'm significantly down once the merge completes (I'm talking 10, 000's), so not minutely high or low as the deducter suggests. Therefore my questions were based around any previous experience of companies merging and the result of the share price, plus how to calculate the share price. I appreciate everyone's help, thanks. So really at the moment I'm better off out but who knows in another 12 months where DCP will be. I'm new to LSE chat. I didn't realise I needed to have a bit of a cocky attitude though. I left mine in the playground with my pigtails. Thanks again everyone.
I am following everyones formulas here and getting quite a significant drop in value of my holdings if I wait until 6/7th August. Concerned.
Thanks red getz and bonsai. I understand the allocation part....I'm just in fear of it tumbling as I've got a lot riding on this. So theoretically we hopefully won't be out of pocket if both shareprices stay the same?
Can anyone help me with advice on how the merger works against the value of current shares? I don't know whether to sell some dixons shares now as current value of cpw alone won't meet the value if I sold today. Will the share price of the new company dixons carphone be likely to be more than both put together? ! I know no one has a glass ball to predict what will happen but I don't want to lose out obviously. Thanks
