troll baiting time - I must live in a topsy turvey universe where gravity works in a completely different sense - from my perspective this stone is definitely falling upwards.... 3.2% up (or is it down effix03 sweet (or sour?) honey?)
Drax was down this morning presumably due to index selling of the FTSE 250 or whatever index it is.
Sifting through the market, this is one of the few companies making money hand over fist.
If you feel you MUST sell something in your portfolio, sell a company that is a big energy user. They are being whacked.
Seems to be getting a hurry-on in the last half-hour.
Have placed DRX in my long-term box.
Oh sorry, in the 2 mins it took to pen the last its risen to 0.5%.....Buy!
In a sea of red today, this share is the only one in my PF of 26 that is actually holding/ gaining (0.3%) - Buy!
Clearly yesterday's crazy price action was just a result of Barclay's crack heads deluded note. Not much interest anymore today. Will again drop like a stone from this level. Sell
£157 baseload for a SATURDAY in SEPTEMBER.
Wanna short that? good luck to you.
@SoR - "£9 here we come" - ahahaha
lol. also doubled mine. a no brainer really....and the great dividend
my inherent human greed has come to an accommodation with my greener tendencies and so I will be locking my thermostat until hoar frost on the inside of my windows obscures the view of locals building snowmen and sledging. I will justify this to my nearest and dearest as our collective contribution to reducing CO2, thus achieving the dual objective of salving any personal environmental guilt whilst accumulating great wealth based on the inability of others to do the same.
As for a certain plastic modeller, they will no doubt be kept warm by the glow of their flammable shorts.....

SoR - I would prefer to leave CH unused for as long as possible (?Jan).
In view of looming outages it's time to buy a powerpoint battery for the laptop.
Just added 100% to my holding. Looking for cold winter, high energy prices and need to cover the gap in supplies. At what date will we see power cuts?
Airfix: are your shorts on fire?
£9 here we come.
Cor blast me ...there was me thinking this was a boring old share ...joined group this morning...
Carry on upwards ...
First order placed which will enable me to chime in on conversation.
Precisely
And we are only in September.
And this excludes the opportunities from the Scottish pumped storage.
Pumped storage is the most flexible kit in the system.
Some seriously silly money being made in balancing mechanism this week. Both Coal units had 6 hr runs for evening peak yesterday Dx5 grossed £5.69M Dx6 £4.44M. Previous day Dx 5 only did £4.3M. With a forecast plant margin of minus 800MW this evening, it's hard to see them not run again today. The coal units we are likely to rely on this winter are these 2 at Drax and 4 x 500MW units at Ratcliffe. 2 units currently available at West Burton close at end of this month.
The penny has dropped.
Interconnector with France at half capacity (at best) this winter.
Owners of flexible and relatively low cost generation are and will be cleaning up.
7% up this morning for Drax. And the rest…
