'...It definitely seems like DEC is now absolutely following the gas spot price despite the vast majority of production and revenue being forward hedged. That means the current price is taking literally zero account of the actual profitability of the company.
I know I shouldn't be surprised when I find market stupidity, but really? You can see why so many CEOs abandon the market in favour of private equity...'
Pickedpeck, to follow on from your question to notrex which he refused to - or was incapable of - answer, if the market is so stupid, and private equity is so smart, does this mean you're a client of a private equity firm, rather than one of the stupid market mugs ?
My poor reluctant puppet GG - seems I really did hurt you little fella - shame eh? LoL
#Game, set & match (another hashtag!).
Woo, a hashtag, lol.
Fair enough GG (as you often say). I can understand your reluctance to engage with me - you wouldn't want to be made a fool of yet again eh!? LoL
# My reluctant puppet.
'...Anyway, another great day here and elsewhere !! Long may it continue !!...'
Yep just one more great day of 4% + needed to get DEC back to where it was...just over a week ago !!!! *Giggle*
Notrex - what ?
Having trouble understanding GG - or do you have dementia (It would account for your poor memory)?
Notex - what ? Lol.
You really can't handle being put down GG - sign of an inferiority complex I'm told (or was it a sign of being inferior?)? LoL
highhotshot, '... gg, the suggestion that pwc (the auditors of dec) should be viewed in the same way as the criminals to which you allude in the cnbc article is laughable. you need medical help...'
apart from pwc being one of the two '...criminals to which you allude in the cnbc article...' , they've also proved themselves to be quite capable of acting criminally in many other cases over the past few years.
'...pwc hit with $8.9 million penalty for 'serious breaches' on bab**** audits...'
'...pwc has been fined almost £1.8m for failing to properly scrutinise the accounts of telecoms company bt after a £500m accounting fraud had been uncovered at its italian operation...'
'...pricewaterhousecoopers has received penalties totalling £5m for failures in its audit of the construction firms galliford try and kier, in the latest fines imposed on a “big four” accounting firm...'
i could go on, but highhotshot, if you think pwc is an honest broker, it's you who needs medical help, lol.
I see GG is being feisty today - seems he's finished sulking eh? LoL
Honestly, Qlued, if you consider time wasted here as 'valuable' you should re-assess your life choices, lol. I come here when I'm bored and in need of entertainment, I used to think differently, but the past 12 months has made me realise this place is a fun place to hang out when I need a fun distraction.
Greygeorge, you know very little about me and others on this board and yet you say 'it's just the idiots and morons I have total disdain for. Posters like you, and the majority of clowns on this particular board.' You criticise our alleged bad behaviour by saying 'denying the factual, then defending the indefensible. It's what qweirdoes like you excel at.'
You need to take a good look at yourself - do you really think that your verbal abuse of total strangers on these boards is dignified and respectable behaviour ? As I've already posted : "...... I genuinely feel that you have a deep neurosis and I recommend that you get some relevant counselling to reverse your intense hate and disrespect for yourself and for complete strangers like myself and others on these LSE boards. I hope you don't treat those close to you as you treat people on here ?" You also need to deal with some very deep rooted (obvious to us) anger and delusions, and I genuinely hope that you don't have some form of schizophrenia.
I won't be answering you anymore as I've given you my free valuable time and advice and it's now up to you to follow it.
Qlued, just to be clear, you stated '...Vast majority (99.x%) of Accounting Auditors are honest and truthful and comply with the accounting standards and sovereign law...'
You are100% WRONG !!!
Of the 'Top 4' accounting and audit firms ONE HUNDRED PERCENT have been found guilty of what could generously be called 'failures' to comply with accounting and audit law. Here you go :
'...In the £237 million LCF mini-bond scandal, two of Britain’s largest accountancy firms, PwC and EY, were fined by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC). The FRC found that these firms committed failures when auditing LCF’s accounts.
PwC, the auditors for BHS, faced a record fine of £6.5 million.
KPMG, the auditors for Carillion, faced a fine of £14 million for misconduct related to the creation of false documents.
The tribunal which upheld the record £15 million fine against Deloitte and two of its senior partners found against them on nearly all counts and scorned their demands for clemency for “cooperation,” it emerged today.
Deloitte and former partners Richard Knights and Nigel Mercer were fined and severely reprimanded last year over their failures to act with “integrity and objectivity” over the way Autonomy allegedly aggressively accounted for sales in 2009 and 2010...'
Auditors dishonesty is a feature, not a bug. It's what they're paid big money for by companies like DEC.
Pickedpeck, the Algos are probably not set up to take account of the hedging (too complicated for them ?) and DEC is simply identified as a Natural Gas company so is tracked on the latter actual prices ?
Anyway, another great day here and elsewhere !! Long may it continue !! Buy in May and watch it Pay !!
Qlued, it's just the idiots and morons I have total disdain for. Posters like you, and the majority of clowns on this particular board.
But, go on, carry on, first denying the factual, then defending the indefensible. It's what qweirdoes like you excel at.
Greygeorge, fair enough on your link re PWC, Accounting Auditors are human and make mistakes. This wasn't Willfull bad behaviour by PWC and even the FCA was reprimanded for not monitoring the company LCF. As a % of all PWC audits I think this LCF one is an immaterial %.
I'll ignore your personal insults, don't even know or care what 'Qlued' means as something probably from social media or you've invented it, as I genuinely feel that you have a deep neurosis and I recommend that you get some relevant counselling to reverse your intense hate and disrespect for yourself and for complete strangers like myself and others on these LSE boards. I hope you don't treat those close to you as you treat people on here ?
It definitely seems like DEC is now absolutely following the gas spot price despite the vast majority of production and revenue being forward hedged. That means the current price is taking literally zero account of the actual profitability of the company.
I know I shouldn't be surprised when I find market stupidity, but really? You can see why so many CEOs abandon the market in favour of private equity.
'...Greygeorge, there can be a bad apple in every large basket. You might as well mention the Enron Auditors who shredded Enron records to cover up the real Acccounts. Vast majority (99.x%) of Accounting Auditors are honest and truthful and comply with the accounting standards and sovereign law...'
Clued, still clueless. LOL. Take your tin foil hat off, Qlued. Moron.

I'll see your PwC, highhotshot, and raise you an EY. Clown.

If they can hold this with a trading statement and divi to come there has to be some pressure on the Shorts - one hopes!
Interesting dividend max know the date and DEC IR website doesn’t!
Historically, the final dividend has been declared in late March, going ex-d in May. I can't find it so, yes, a bit odd.
