The two-year license agreement allows the PC chip maker to supply DDD's TriDef 3D Experience software with its 3D PC processors directly to original equipment manufacturers ("OEM"s) and also via retail outlets in 3D accessory packs. DDD will receive quarterly royalties from the manufacturer based on the volume of OEM and retail software products shipped. It is expected that OEMs will begin shipping the combined solution during the second half of 2011. The agreement also includes a one-time $150,000 (approx. £92,000) development fee.
Chris Yewdall, Chief Executive of DDD said: "We are pleased to have been selected by Samsung to provide the content solution for their new 3D PC products and this agreement broadens our existing relationship with Samsung. i was contacted by admin and threatened with being banned so you can say what you like now as i am not allowed to comment ,what a fantastic person you are, your the best we need more posters like you.and i was totally wrong.
If you are referring to me, I'm not shorting tech shares in any way shape or form - look at my previous posts! Have you noticed that fundamental's posts have been removed / binned for the rubbish that they are?! Be careful who you slate.
Don'y worry about him as i'm sure no one else is! His stratergy has been one of shorting tech shares which worked well for 2008 to mid 2010! His knowledge of DDD and simalar companies is shocking and he is trying his hardest to cut his losses. If he always does what he always does he will always have what he will always have (nothing) to shout about but plenty to shout it too????
Along with the compulsory L2 access for serious trading, another thing to remember is to get yourself a decent execution only broker. I use X-O (you can find them on the net easily). They charge £5.95 per transaction (buy or sell plus stamp duty of course) and they're always on the end of a phone if you need them. Very friendly and helpful staff, with a simple to use trading platform. Can't get much better IMHO and I never seem to have any trouble in either buying or selling stock, unlike other investors who are continuously complaining about bank led brokerages. Another thing that seems to have come to light lately, is the extremely 'fickle' nature of traders, since the end of spread betting on AIM listed shares - mid of last month, day traders are hoping in and out of stock on the slightest rumour of good news. It can be very disheartening when you've invested in a company which on paper has everything going for it, and then all of a sudden it's sp falls for no other reason than people have simply lost interest and don't want to wait for a return. The next few months will IMO see a bedding in period again, where traders will come to settle down and invest on the strength of a company rather than simply following the herd like sheep to the slaughter. Simply look at any bb and I can guarantee there will be someone complaining about being caught on a spike or losing lots of money. Do not be afraid to voice your opinions even if the masses don't want to hear them. Some will blatantly and aggressively attempt to shut you up for fear of somehow damaging 'their' share price. You will be called a deramper or a ramper (all bull IMO), but it is important to air concerns as they can have a very serious and enlightening 'grounding' effect.
Like you, am a little new to this lark, but as Mazpaz says, DYOR is key. If it's any help, I done a bit on this crowd about a month ago, and (stupidly) put a stop loss buy to buy at 25p being as they were about 26.5/27 at the time. Unfortunately, the buy never materialised, so now seriously thinking of coming in and hoping they will rise further. Bottom line agree again with Mazpaz and still think 'worth a punt'
Following the completion of a £3.5 million fund raising in June, the Group began investing in staff to support engineering and operational needs. The US offices completed a move into a larger facility in Los Angeles in mid January 2011. DDD’s financial position continues to strengthen. At the year end, the Group had had just over £3.1 million in cash and receivables. Since the year end, at CES in January 2011, Samsung announced its intent to extend the 3D feature beyond its 7000, 8000, and 9000 series products to include the 5000 and 6000 series 3D TVs. It also demonstrated a Blu-ray® disc player and PC monitors with built in 2D to 3D conversion. These developments are a direct result of restructuring of the Group’s license agreement with Samsung to enable broader use of the 2D to 3D conversion technology. In addition, DDD and Intel demonstrated TriDef conversion technology working with a variety of applications on Intel’s new 2nd Generation Intel® Core Processor platforms. Chris Yewdall, DDD Chief Executive Officer said: “With more than two and a half million units of our TriDef 2D to 3D conversion IP shipped in 2010, we have established the business as the leading supplier of this critical content component in the rapidly growing 3D consumer device market. “Now that manufacturers are adopting TriDef software for use with 3D active shutter glasses in the PC market, we anticipate stronger adoption of the TriDef software in this segment, along with continuing growth of embedded TriDef solutions in the TV market. “Finally, the TriDef 2D to 3D conversion software is now running on the latest mobile phone processors and we anticipate adoption of this Android™ based solution as the 3D mobile phone market emerges during 2011.” DDD expects to publish results for the fiscal year 2010 in the week commencing 18 April 2011.
February 7, 2011 Year End Trading Update DDD Group (AIM: DDD, ‘the Group’), the 3D software and content company, announces a trading update for the financial year ended 31 December 2010. Trading for the second half of 2010 is in line with expectations. During 2010, over 2.5 million units of DDD’s TriDef 2D to 3D conversion solution were shipped by licensees in the TV and PC markets, compared to less than 100,000 units shipped up to the end of 2009, and just over a million in the first half of 2010. DDD expects full year 2010 turnover of approximately £1.4 million, in line with turnover in 2009 before the effect of the discontinued 3D TV and accessories sales operation. Gross profit margins improved by 12 percentage points from 74% to 86%. As previously announced, the Group successfully transitioned from the monthly recognition of up-front license fees to quarterly reporting of royalties generated by software and chips shipped by licensees. Additionally, DDD completed its withdrawal from direct sales of low-margin 3D TVs and related accessories, helping to improve gross margins. Royalty income from software and video-processor licenses grew strongly and demand for direct-to-consumer software downloads nearly doubled. In October, the Group announced a collaboration with AMD on its new Radeon™ HD3D PC graphics processor, which opened significant new opportunities for the Group’s TriDef software to be used with 3D PC displays using 3D active shutter glasses. Revenue from the use of the TriDef software with 3D active glasses and PC products is expected to commence in early 2011. As previously announced, a number of brand-name licensees launched mass-market 3D products incorporating TriDef 2D to 3D conversion solutions. These included: Samsung, which introduced a range of 3D LED, LCD and plasma TVs worldwide incorporating the Group’s IP in a video-processing chipset. Acer built upon the success of its 5738DG 3D notebook with an updated 5740DG model. Lenovo introduced the IdeaPad Y560d 3D notebook in mid June. Fujitsu debuted an All-In-One PC for the Japanese market in June that utilizes the TriDef Ignition gaming solution and followed this with a 3D notebook PC at the end of the year. LGE introduced three 3D notebook PC models in September. Finally the first active shutter glasses product was introduced at the end of the year when HP began promoting the Group’s game conversion solution for their Envy 17 3D notebook PC. During the second half, the Group also secured a license agreement with a Taiwan-based fabless semiconductor manufacturer, which anticipates launching video processors equipped with DDD’s 2D to 3D conversion solution in the second half of 2011. Following the completion of a £3.5 million fund raising in June, the Group began investing in staff to support engineering and operational needs. The US offices completed a move into a larger facility in Los
The most important thing about this game is never to trust anyone!! You have to do your own research (DYOR) Everyone has an agenda, and they will try to manipulate the sp to suit themselves. Don't forget money is made both on the up and down!! Now that aside, taking into account what's happening within the media lately, i.e. 3D everything! New gizmos coming out all the time, bla bla bla, I believe this share is well worth the punt. Again DYOR and never trust anyone. A good place to start is the Co's website and check out the licensing deals. RNS's are everything in this game - not hearsay! All the best and good luck
Hi all. Could anyone give me honest advise if I should as a new investor buy now and hold. With a hike today, will it retrace and hold or not? Could someone please give me valuable researched advise?

I have been in this share for about 3 years I think I am sure I bought my first lot at about 6p i topped up but over the 3 years I have taken profit out twice I am left with about 3600 shares so still optamistic of a price increase. To be honest they have risen steadily over the last few years which is what you want they seem to hit 30p come sharply back down which has happend a few times now i think it did this, this time last year I will have to look at the charts. I think its a safe bet and can see it going up to 1p this year if they keep getting positive RNS they are tied in with Samsung I think this share is undervalued I am not sure what the broker price is??
im here LOL and hello to ram8o Been watching this for a while Does anyone think the SP has further to go ? If so could you post your thoughts on getting into this share
LONDON (Dow Jones)--3D software firm DDD Group PLC (DDD.LN) said Monday it is receiving increased interest from a wider range of equipment manufacturers and chip makers after signing a licensing deal with Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) in October, and is taking on new staff to cope with the demand. Chief Executive Chris Yewdall said the firm, which currently has 23 staff, will be looking to increase that figure to around 30 by May. Yewdall told Dow Jones Newswires that the agreement with AMD, under which PC makers use DDD software alongside AMD chips to create 3D content that can be viewed through active shutter 3D glasses, has stimulated increased demand for its products beyond the 3D TV market. "It [the AMD deal] was key for us, because we needed that capability because of the desire to use active glasses [among device manufacturers]," Yewdall said. "We are seeing a very healthy growth in demand," he added. Yewdall said customers such as Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (005930.SE)--whose 3D TVs all use DDD software--are showing increased interest in DDD technology in their PC businesses.
obviously not!!
What a quiet BB..... anyone out there........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
It is obvious that the trend in 3D is on the up and up and DDD are very well placed to participate in this future growth and trend in 3D technologies. They have their fingers some very serious 3D pies, so I would not be surprised to see the share price substantially higher over the next 6 months. 5 million shares in turnover may have taken out some stale bulls, so a new base of buyers is being formed around the current price that should allow it to make a move higher with the trending momentum in 3D. After a fairly long wait and some false starts….this next 12 months looks very exciting.
Theres a few delayed buys showing here. This should tick this up tomorrow.
This looks like its going to where it was yesterday. wtf
Come on!!!
