Hi Guys, just a word from a geek in the industry.... DDD are showcasing their 3D technology in vegas as we speak. The market leader in 3D tech, samsung, has decided to use DDD's technology in their TV's although this may seem old hat in about three months when a new 3D technology which excludes the need for the annoying glasses is introduced to the market. DDD design and manufacture this new technology too. Also on this show is the new 2D to 3D game chip which will convert existing 2D technology and present it to the player in 3D format - this is fantastic news for all those games developers out there who now wont have to bother developing the 3D element in their games. DDD are also using Intels new processor, widely seen to be the market leader in this field. The combination of the two seems like a winner and should prove very lucrative to all, if only for the short term. DDD will and are continuing the development of their existing offerings to ensure the new "wrap around" 3D screens are designed with their technology in mind but with samsung on board and lots of new customers from the vegas show, I recommend an initial 6 month buy and hold on this one - but watch for further development announcements from the states around the end of then spring.
hoping for something from the show perhaps
News is already out tho isnt it?
moving up - must be some news comming
I managed to get in at 25p, so hopefully it'll be a good day. Lets see
been watchin on L2 lots of buys, funny I can only get a quote for 31p though so not very happy
This is looking nice. Surprised its so quiet here.
With the new year starting, I would think that the board should have some encouraging news on earning forecasts for 2011. It seems that 3d is now in full swing into the consumer television market and hopefully this will reflect on company earnings.
the latest announcement shows that the board are committed to shareholders and we have seen this over the last fews days of trading, well done!
Time for some earnings figures to show the hard work that the board has endured over the last 12 months. I think that the Samsung sales will show positive growth and take this stock to where it should be, way above current levels. With other applications such as 3 D surgical, it will be interesting to learn if this company has progressed.
Link to news item for those interested:- http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1294230/Me-operation-How-3D-glasses-tackled-gall-stones.html
Article in todays Scottish Daily Mail. They have now started to use 3D technology for microsurgery. The system used a two camera system with modified TV so that the operation, to remove a gall bladder, could be carried out using a 3D viewing image. Because of the use of 3D the operation was carried out in almost half the time it would normally take using 2D TV image. The article did not say what system was used for the TV conversion but any publicty for the use of 3DTV has to be good.
Good news for ddd holders !!! DDD EXPANDS 3D TV CONVERSION LICENSE WITH SAMSUNG Santa Monica, California (June 17th, 2010) ¾DDD Group plc (AIM: DDD), the 3D software and content company, today announces that it has expanded the scope of the license agreement that allows Samsung Electronics Company Ltd. ('Samsung') to use DDD's automatic 2D to 3D conversion technology in Samsung's new 3D consumer displays and devices. As a result of the revised agreement, Samsung is now licensed to include the embedded 3D processing chips containing DDD's 2D to 3D conversion technology in Blu-ray players, LED and LCD monitors and large format displays. DDD expects that Samsung will commence shipments of the first of these new product categories in early 2011 and does not currently anticipate any additional income for the 2010 financial year as a result of this change. In late January, Samsung announced that it started mass producing both light-emitting-diode (LED) and liquid-crystal-display (LCD) compatible panels for 40", 46" and 55" 3D TVs. Samsung's 3D LED, LCD and Plasma TVs are now available in many countries worldwide and it was recently reported in the South Korean 'Chosun' newspaper that Samsung has secured an estimated 90% market share of all 3D TVs shipped to date. The five-year license agreement was announced in February 2008 and involved DDD and Samsung collaborating to implement DDD's TriDef real-time 2D to 3D conversion and 3D image processing architecture in the embedded 3D processing chip developed by Samsung for their next generation 3D HDTVs and other categories of 3D consumer product. Chris Yewdall, Chief Executive of DDD said: "We are pleased to report continued progress in our relationship with the world's leading TV manufacturer. The quantity of chips manufactured by Samsung in the first quarter of this year was ahead of our projections and presently leaves them on target to achieve the higher end of our expectation for 2010. Expanding the license to include other high volume consumer products such as Blu-ray players and PC monitors should allow us to further increase the footprint of TriDef enabled 3D devices in 2011.
This stock is just beginning after a long road to acceptance in this market, well done to the board and technical staff whom are making it happen. Samsung have world leading sales which will put this company in the spotlight and revenue.

Very much a share for the future and will move up as we all get into 3DTV. £1 is not without reason. GL
As predicted, this company will be a force in 3d technology, you will see the earnings forcast which will put this stock over 1 pound per share, about time.
bought another 3k's worth this morning at 31... went to sell at 34... went throught as nt and sold at 32.5..... still not bad made 150 in an hour or so.... these will go to the 40's... its a shame i didn't get the 34... as I would have got back in at 32... ah well... I'm in hawk now.... which will make me 10% by tomorrow.
BL i would sell some now they had good run for wail
bought 500 quids worth of these B^&%$ds for long term! Would have bought more if I wasn't in HLO this morning... Will buy more if it retraces!!!! Looking good peeps!
The message is coming out strong that this is going to reach the target of 41p, with sales predictions of Samsung's TV's, I think are well below what will be achieved in a market which they dominate. If the company can secure cinematic acceptance, brace and hold on.
This is my first time of posting although I have followed LSE comments for a long time. I am surprised at how little chat thier is on this stock, which I have held for about 5 years. Just wish I had purchased more when at 4p, I came in at 13p. I have held this stock for so long as I have always felt its time will come and as mentioned by steveau the end of this month sees the start of sales for 3 d TV sets. My broker feels this share is over priced but I feel he may just be trying to get me to take profit and buy into something else. With a holding of 50000 shares a price of one pound would be very nice thank you. It would be interesting to hear more comments but good ones from wozzer70
This company has got to move with some analysist,s target price of 41p, 3D television about to explode in sales together with cinema. One pound per share is not out of the realms of possibilities with this company
