Yes, it makes sense, but CC in all Genus meters unlikely IMO.
But then i know nothing really.
There is a lot of movement within Genus since Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd (Genus Power)signed a definitive agreement with Gem View Investment, an affiliate of GIC, Singapore to set up a platform for undertaking advanced metering infrastructure service provider concessions.
GIC will hold a 74 per cent stake while Genus will hold a 26 per cent stake in the platform, the company said in a BSE filing.
I wonder if certain partnerships, assets whatever are being transferred form Genus to GIC. Just a thought. no evidence.

Hello Vas, thanks for that. I definitely think it was a good idea of JC to join up with Genus and Intellismart but it is frustrating that we do not get more detailed updates. As we now can do all connections I surmise that Genus are only using CC for it's Smart Comms as directly Inhouse. Having said that Genus may not be able to disclose until all the real Subs are notified. It is really a matter of does all Genus Smart Meters contain CC, is so it would be nice for JC to say so and orders that Genus win we win. Does that make sense. DYOR
Hi Tony , according to the Genus Power Infrastructures Earnings Call for Q3FY24, published in Mid Feb 24 ( you can skim read the transcript or listen in on it)
quote regarding the awards made to Genus mostly during 2023
"Its worth mentioning that the Fulfilment of these orders will commence only after a period of
1:26
approximately 6 to 9 months from the date of order this is primarily because of the time
1:31
needed to complete the necessary formalities for starting the projects these formalities Encompass a range of
1:38
activities including necessary approvals negotiation of contract and logistic Arrangements we strive to diligently
1:45
attend to every detail to guarantee a seamless and successful execution process the execution Pro Cycle of the
1:53
current order book is about 27 to 30 months thus it provides healthy visibility of our Top Line growth
2:00
particularly for FY 25 and 26 numerous State electricity boards
2:05
have commenced the bidding process to procure Smart Meters underscoring the positive impact of the reforms etc "
The only fact we know is that the conservative 9 month period mentioned here by Genus, takes us back to June 23..........
it was only after June 23 most of the wards to the AMISPS was made and the second fact we know is that up until Today, there has not been any sign of a up tick in awards to the subcontractors - so I think I am safe in saying that the game has not yet began, and the successful company's who will win awards form Genus and others is yet to be announced.
And every week that passes brings the start date of awards even closer.
The majority of the awards made this past nine months must surely be released in the next 2-4 months , probably wrapped up with many other massive national infrastructure investments as part of the celebration to commemorate yet another Modi government win . Gl Vas

Hello LTI, Vas, Gizmo. Thanks for inputs. On the meter top left I saw a transmitter sign but that could be anything. I go on a bit about Genus and Intellismart but that was what these signings were about. Intellismart to use CC meters as they saw fit and Genus to make them on their benches (like a licence), at their cost so no supplying materials from us, just paying a fee on production. I believe Genus had to re-engineer production so not going to without committment. These two have had massive 1st assignments so likewise to me so should CC and again likewise should have had a massive rise in SP like Genus. Somebody is going to put me right to this. DYOR
Good afternoon tonyj,
I am not sure that you can identify whether or not a meter is Cellular or RF, from the outside. For economies of scale, surely they would be made the same size and big enough to take any communication's that were required, for any specific project.
As far as the security is concerned, I might suggest that would be covered partially, if not totally, by CyanConnodes asymetric key, I seem to remember being mentioned sometime ago, in connection with security. But that was some years ago and CyanConnode may still have this in place, but an upgraded version.
CyanConnode do seem to develop a solution, that does what is needed.
As far as the existing Strategic Framework Agreement is concerned, I have commented previously that, hopefully, the SFA will be coming up for renegotiation/extension, in the near future. For how many Omnimesh Modules, we will have to wait and see, what happens. But an extention of sorts, would be a natural progression, for me.
And not forgetting the potential opportunity for SFA's, with other AMISP's/Smart Meter Manufacturers in the future. Logistically and economically, I would think that it is essential, for all concerned.
Take care tonyj.
LTI.
LTI, just read your Intellismart. Was the meter displayed Cellular or RF. I was interested in the opening page regarding security and trustworthy suppliers. CC has been approved by GCHQ and I should imagine is up to date with all Cyber problems. From this particular aspect it could be CC is the most reliable and proven of all competitors.
Unless individual contracts for CC are mentioned by Intellismart could it be with all the wins that are taking place that CC has its Framework extended to say 20m units. DYOR

An interesting piece of information on pages 3 and 4, which gives a breakdown of the various stages of the smart meter tender progress in India, as of March 2024. It highlights that 57% of the smart meters have already been Awarded, from the Sanctioned pot. Many of which, sub-contractors are waiting to be informed who have been successful.
Also on page 5, DGVCL gets a mention, which may be the CyanConnode order from August 2023 and on page 7 is a general snap-shot of the IntelliSmart projects, as of March 2024.
Good Luck all.
LTI.
