Good evening all.
" Smart " metering has been installed in India for some years now. As it has in the UK. A report out during 2017 confirms this and highlights the different opinions that have existed within the smart meter industry, in India, for some years.
http://indiaspend.com/why-indias-largest-smart-meter-rollout-may-not-be-very-smart-68359/
My comparison with the UK, is SMETS1 originally and moving on to SMETS2 eventually.
The " smart " meters that were installed in India originally, are now deemed not to be as " smart " as the Government of India now require. A different specification is required. A new, truly " smart " program has been budgeted for, in which data is properly and securely gathered and utilities charge the right price for the electricity that their customers use.
But all in my opinion, of course.
LTI.
Evening all. The 7 millionth to roll off an Indian production line this week joins the 6 million brand new ones the supplied before. I'd be very surprised if they are being ordered without being up to the required smart standard.
Other big players are also at the door by the way. At last, volume contracts could well be in play.
Colour, I hope you have not got your information wrong. I cannot find these facts and they would have been published.
I think GoI latest requirement was for RF capability, not sure, would these have it as being older.
You were trumpeting the 1m units regarding Trilliant a few months back. I think that was supposed to be the biggest roll out but 7m units. Obviously nobody can comment until we know what you are on about.
Do we take it at face value you are correct, alternatively can you prove it, for analysis.
As you know we must not mislead on BB.
DYOR
There we have it. Could anyone really believe there would be no more orders won in 6 months from September? The 'New' team have been in place for 3 of those months, I reckon CC will produce a Chess Grand Master before a volume contract.
Good morning all,
I am encouraged by the news that meters are " ..... rolling off the production line ...... " in India. Which should mean that some meter manufacturers/suppliers are gearing up for the much anticipated Indian roll-out. Which I believe was requested by the GOI last year.
I would also think that many different industry specialists/suppliers/manufacturers are also doing the same.
LTI.
There we have it. Have what Colour. We always knew that contracts were not on demand but waited for.
You have obviously run out of technical comments and they were useless.
You still have not divulged further info about these 7m units, is it hearsay or fact or do you have privileged information and not sharing.
Regarding CC you have seen the deliveries chart to meter manufacturer doubling every 2 months up to Christmas and I expect will continue. I don't see your problem and can only assume you are trying to depress CC's SP as we have money in the bank, cash on delivery of units, probably still 500,000 units in process over coming months, 1 contract with a bonus for early delivery. Not bad for a small company in a big market that is about to take off.
Only my opinion but I do think things out rather than moan but still keep with CC. You are a one off.

If you actually know how to research, you would find the 7 million meter producer within a few minutes.
I won't give you the detail, this is far more entertaining.
Is that delivery chart on the website yet, like you asked? It's a cracking idea, can you think why JC doesn't want it there? Ask again, and see if he fancies a real time SP ticker like some proper companies have?
I did post a reply that seems to have been taken down.
Give up Colour.. You always tell me to produce evidence, it's your turn now.
I must admit I would like to see this evidence. I remember sometime back some activity in Delhi/New Delhi but was that the old system and was there new regulations.
I just seem to remember you saying about that time that RF was not required along with CC. How wrong.
Any comments Colour.
There are 250m meters up for grabs and 20% would be 50m. A mixture of Canopy and Supply Only would be nice.
