Anyone hazard a guess on why such a big drop this morning?
MM's shake, prob based on the rumours that govt was allegedly discussing dig passports yesterday? No idea if that happened.
Worth a re-read of Feb RNS https://www.lse.co.uk/rns/CTEA/digital-identity-policy-consultation-tezu0doskr7v6s9.html, this a multi-month burner and patience is required. IMHO.
Dropping like a stone
First point is the government wants a British solution, this company has been working with companies and a health authority in Newcastle.
2nd point, to be added to this government project they would have had to show some very good results so far, keep it British and the money in this country not sending it abroad all the time.

We have been working very closely with the uk gov and the consultation period is due to end shortly, I fully expect Cantenea to be the chosen platform. GL
I been a holder since the milestone days but now out again with another small profit. GL to everyone and hope Catenae can win some part of the Covid-ID passport. But I think they will go to someone well established like IBM https://newsroom.ibm.com/New-York-State-and-IBM-Digital-Health-Pass-Pilot
Or the one which looks like it’s going to be world leading Apps The Common Pass
https://thecommonsproject.org/commonpass
It’s only my view and GL to everyone DROR
Vaccine passports are attracting a lot of buzz despite the World Health Organisation having repeatedly advised against them. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) hopes that blockchain-based digital apps will get people flying again.

What's all of the nonsense about bad news - there is no news. A few numpties get up a petition on gov.uk and the usual sheep sign up to it and if enough do then Parliament have to debate it. that is all it was. Nothing was ever riding on it. A waste of time as has already been said and no impact on CTEA. The big decisions will be made irrespective of this. Fingers crossed that CTEA will be in on the contracts. And if you doubt that there will be some form of digital passporting then just think back to how much you ever doubted that a lockdown could be possible.
These debates are just a taking shop. The government get 6 people in a room they have a chat and then can say the issue has been discussed.
They are meaningless.
What’s really important is what is going on behind the scenes.. Radio silence is good .
Good post Ralph. I do wish people would do a little bit of research before posting drivel
I think most people have explained what this debate was and wasn't about very clearly underneath. If you expected a vote on vaccine passports today then you haven't done any research whatsoever.
The reason they all seemed "against" the vaccine passports is because they were debating the petition which was raised and signed by people who have concerns about the idea (290,000 out of 66million+ people). The MP's were representing the people who have concerns. The government review has only just started and the comments made will be noted during that official review. The main concerns being ethics/practicality/data protection/necessity etc.
A lot of people seem to have the idea that this is purely a decision for the government and that its make or break for CTEA dependant on their decision. As highlighted during the debate, this simply isn't the case. Private companies, airlines and other governments can and have made their own choice for proof of vaccine requirements. Saga holidays and international airlines are already saying you will need to prove you are vaccinated before you can travel. The requirements will increase daily by different companies requiring proof of vaccination, for both domestic and international situations. As quite rightly mentioned, the government will only be able to control this requirement for UK border crossing.
If you want to travel or go to an event where the organiser requires proof of vaccination then that's all there is to it. And I'm sure insurance companies will be jumping on board with this as we speak, all your medical background is up for debate when it comes to travel insurance, so why would covid be any different. Who out there will be travelling without being vaccinated knowing they will be paying a premium for such things as insurance because they didn't want the vaccine???
As far as data protection goes, you can't really beat a GDPR compliant Blockchain technology. Most of the MP's concerns around this were due to large corporations having masses of personal data being a threat, or the government being in control of this ??. CTEA are in existence to solve this very problem.
The opportunities lie with providing solutions for thousands of companies domestically and internationally, not just one possible scheme with the government.
I think I'm rambling now....

Do some research at least haha
I disagree. I think very few actually thought a conclusive decision would be made - that was never on the cards. It was to discuss the petition that the passports are unethical.
Many of the speakers noted the ethical issues, but it was wrapped up to the effect that whilst this is all to be considered, the overriding feeling is that people want to get back to normal and that this will likely have a part to play, but a clear decision cannot yet be made. Also an acknowledgement that if other countries are adopting it (and they are) we will effectively be forced in the decision over adopting it for international travel.
If you expected a resounding 'Catenae is going to get a contract, it's all go' then I'm afraid you were always going to be disappointed.
It's just one of the many hurdles that had to be crossed, noting the positives out of it, there was an acknowledgement that there needs to be an urgency on finding a solution that enables life to head back to normal, so it could be good for getting things moving.
The debate in Westminster was simply a debate to discuss the e-petition and the vote at the end was a vote to agree or disagree that the petition had been debated. The main consensus was against a domestic Covid passport, to allow entry to pubs and sports venues etc but there was strong opinion that an international Covid travel passport would be beneficial especially if other countries require it, over which we have no control. The main concern was ‘data sharing’ and ‘security’ along with possible discrimination against those who either cannot have the vaccine or choose not to. Personally, if it allows me to travel freely I don’t see the issue. Who knows what variants may arise and therefore an app which will show which versions of vaccines you’ve had will be highly beneficial.
It looks like a lot of people got the wrong idea of what days meeting was going to result in. I think we will see a drop off in the SP tomorrow as shareholder were expecting something different!
Very positive for Ctea as its technology is ready to go for Covid ID/passport
Aye means they are in favour
