What a disappointing finish!! It was ok all day until the last minute UT that has spoilt the fun.....ugh!
The ex-divi drops aren't so bad. I topped up £5k more @304.86p. let's hope it will bounce back up at the end of the day. GLA.
Will go ex-divi tomorrow. Let's hope that it can stay above £3 afterwards. Was thinking of selling today to avoid the ex-drops. I did so with LGEN, Dec and NG but all went wrong. Therefore I changed my mind. Decided to stay and collect the dividend instead......... hahahaha
It looks like dividend income shares are being bought.
On a long term basis dividend compounding is winner
Perhaps not today, it seems running out of steam.......hehe

The SP probably will stay above 300p after going ex-divi next Thursday.
Yes Hi Taverham its been a winner up to now and i believe it will continue.
I haven't even bothered trading it as its in a relatively tight range.
I just pick up some more now and again on the dips. GL all
Yup, closed up, although well off its high. Let's bring on tomorrow again and see if there will be more rises. It will be great if this keeps going up a few pennies a day until next Wednesday before going ex-div.........hehe
Rather disappointing finish for the day. Was hoping for a bit more rises before going ex-div next Thursday. Hope the upward movement will continue tomorrow then. GLA
Optimus, I think that this will provide excellent returns over next fews years as it yields 7%, the divi is increasing in line with inflation and they have growth prospects. IMV it is a share to buy into and hold for years and years.
Once a company is mentioned in the press the price generally goes up for a short while, I will wait to see if it goes lower before topping up. My average share cost £2.999, so will wait to see it retreats before buying more, good luck.
Yikes..... Just looked at this superb increase today a lovely green candle on the charts .
CSN is my longest term hold share.
I bought into this in 2014 for dividend income and it hasn't disappointment on that front It was one of those buy and hold types of shares but hasn't had a lot of growth of late. but continued to pump out divis all through the pandemic.
Would be great to see this get back to £4 and beyond . In the meantime the dividends continue and increase annually.
Taken from Half year report .
John Deane, Group Chief Executive commented
"The interim dividend increase of 3% to 7.88p we have announced today is our
17(th) annual increase which is an enviable track record.
"I have been pleased with our continued financial stability during the period
combined with further asset value growth being delivered. The clear
expectation of future divisional dividend remittances means I am pleased to
report our dividend growth strategy remains unchanged.
"We completed another acquisition in the Netherlands and have successfully
transferred the policies onto the systems of Waard. We continue to actively
seek out and engage on opportunities in our core markets and other appropriate
territories and are increasingly optimistic that there are good opportunities
for us.
"Our closed books continue to provide a strong and reliable source of cash
generation and dividend. I am also encouraged by the material recovery in
Scildon's surplus levels which creates significant future dividend potential.
Right, onwards and upwards then...
Tipped in today's Times probably helped as well. Good write up.
Yes, seems like a bit of slow reaction but no body minds.
It took the market a full day to understand the results but clearly it likes them!
£3.07! Think it's attracting some dividend chasers....
Steady as it goes. Probably we'll see over £3 next week up to Sept 9, the ex_div day before dropping back. Let's hope that it can hold above the £3 mark after Sept 9. Good luck everyone.
A decent finish, can't really complain.
Not bad but not great either, the important thing is that it is not causing the SP to drop. Nice 3% increase of the interim dividend to 7.88p as well, let's hope that the SP will continue to climb slowly from here. GLA
I understood the divi up3% part of the announcement but the remainder read like a technical explanation aimed at institutional investors. I hope they like it!
Highest closed since April. I wonder what Thursday will bring? Will a good result trigger a big rise? Let's wait and see. GLA
