Anyone got any idea as to the reason for the selling in the last couple of days. Speculation or something more sinister?
Slave!
How are you me old fruit?
A bit of excitement....
Hurrah for BS bingo! A staple of all good contractors. I just wish we could have a presentation of the Old Contracting margin (low% x High t/over, VS the brave new world leading edge, caught and bowled! ie Leading edge % T/over x % margin + remaining contracting turnover x low margin= Better? Or worse?
But best bite the bullet , ride the tiger, sweat the asset etc etc fade to close.......Wheres Stuart Doughty when you need him?
At least now the traders are here Old Metom will get the chance to get out even..but he wont because he thought CINE was gonna be 2 quid in a fortnight..LOL> You been doing a good job for someone anyway while they've been accumulating Donkey boy.
Sizewell C? BYLOR job that mate-IOU Part deax!
Sante!
unvrkw Thanks.
Nice to see comments from those that are more informed than just the press.
margins arent great but there is a lot of business out there. now they are stable, i dont know the pension background but an easy takeover. sizewell C will just grab tons of people in the next few months, years
because the order book is huge with other contractors and in the business i am part of we cant get big contractors to tender
what makes you think the order book is huge?
We are back to what we were 2 months ago.
Nothing to get excited about. Hopefully turned a corner though. And about time too.
something's brewing here
The order book will be huge, it’s very hard at the moment to even get some contractors to tender for work
Inept Buffoon
An excellent observation you make. The conclusion I am drawn to is that Cost is in terminal decline which of course If properly managed throws off cash. As evidence, the trading update made no mention of the value of the order book, which is an unusual omission for a company in the construction industry.
any spare money should go into dividend
We'll have to wait for the numbers. Any idea where we can find those "market expectations" companies often refer to???
A stingy 10% against a pretty upbeat forecast for a company that’s been trashed in the past 3 years. The management must wonder what they have to do.
The 95million cash surplus sounds suspiciously like the cash call they had!
Inept
Yes you are absolutely right .
Costain claims to have net £95m, and the market cap is £107m. Surely one of those numbers doesn’t make sense
Cheer up, Metom.
Doesn’t matter what you give donkey it is still same lol .
Won’t take long to back where it was.
I was going to top up to drop my average down when it was 33p but I can really trust this company anymore don’t want to end up like cine world on here too . I’m still holding at 62p from here . Good thing I only got 8k worth shares on here not much .
Unexpected. Give the old donkey a carrot!
If there is any spare money it should go to a share buy back.
Have you seen the share price over the last years ? I think us share holders have suffered enough.
I think this is the first positive change and direction I’ve read for several years, I hopeful of the original intent to invest has started to appear. There is a lot of business out there for we’ll managed construction companies
So, let me guess.... in line with expectations, better governance, new processes to identify problem contracts, challenging conditions...... it's like playing bull**** bingo
Not until Directors come clean about Costain's problems. They are silent possibly in the hope of obtaining a pay off.
Forget 40p, it struggles to get above 35p….
