Can anyone explain why the commentary in all the reports regarding a takeover acknowledge the share looks undervalued based on assets but then we still have analysts coming out with really quite negative price targets. It’s absurd, the UK stock market really needs to be looked at.

Not sure about that price target, have you seen its IP portfolio? Robotics is a growing area right now.

Difficult to understand today’s movement, although it is heavily shorted…

Motion video/streaming companies like Netflix today, commercial real service providers yesterday …the recent narrative around AI is becoming a little scattergun.

Did anyone else catch the response to the Goldman Sachs question regarding the press release and outlook? Clearly a good company with a strong history. Market is being driven by a narrative at the moment, AI is helping RELX.

Strange there are very few disclosed short positions given the substantial drop. Perhaps there is a reason why.

I struggle with this logic, possibly it’s written to confuse without wisdom?

RELX is embedded in so many companies and their respective departments. I suggest you review the recently awarded public tenders, you’ll note a number of organisations are already utilising tools such as LexisNexis + AI, OFGEM being a recent example. Rather than destroying revenue it’s being sold as an additional licence increasing revenue! Therefore AI is actually helping to advance established and trusted companies.

I’ve not seen any good analysis to explain why a company touching £3bn annual earnings is suddenly dropping, AI needs the likes of RELX to advance itself.

I also question whether ai could replace legacy software given how embedded it is in most companies and how specialised it is on its subject matter. Many of the large companies I have worked for still have a good amount of old systems because to unwind them would cause havoc!

At the moment, based on capex spend I’m more fearful for the AI companies and whether the revenues will materialise.
