Why would it get to £2.50 if what you say will happen is true?
Prior to kneeler getting into No 10 Centrica and others will de-list in London and head for New York?
Is O'Shakey worth the huge rewards?
Strong. All markets down, but this only dropped slightly.
Let’s hope share price keeps heading north ,when election time comes I shall sell if it’s a decent price like above £2.50 + , look forward to increasing dividends as well.
?
Politics is one of the macro risks to CNA.
And to banks, come to that.
It will absolutely be part of Centrica's SWOT planning.
So I think it's OK to discuss it on here.
Berenberg on Thursday increased its price target on Centrica
CNA
to 1.40 pounds sterling from 1.10 pounds and maintained its hold rating.

"Just hope Labour don't sabotage the progress being made here."
It does also help to own your own north sea gas field as CNA does, even after paying the TORY windfall tax.
PS lets keep it non-political
Someone is stopping this going over £1.40 .when we get over that the skys the limit.
Lovely stuff.

"OFGEM failed consumers by allowing these new companies to ever trade."
What an understatement, and sadly consumers will be paying for this "OFGEM" failure for years to come - They continue to fail to making the "ring fencing" of consumer balances compulsory leaving the door open for similar failures should prices spike again. Centrica has bought forward (quite a way forward) £8bn (that may be $) worth of gas and for me they are the only supplier that can be wholly trusted - Just hope Labour don't sabotage the progress being made here.
Barclays raises Centrica price target to 200 (160) pence - 'overweight'
Smaller energy companies without the necessary capital were unable to forward buy.
Forcing them to spot buy at super high prices.
OFGEM failed consumers by allowing these new companies to ever trade.
Why have so many gone bankrupt then?
Centrica RNS on 4 August 2023 are 18:25
Centrica plc announces that today it purchased (through Citigroup Global Markets Limited) 226,032 Centrica plc ordinary shares of 6 14/81 pence each at a price of 138.9643 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Such purchase was effected pursuant to the Company's buyback programme announced on 5 April 2023 and effected in accordance with the non-discretionary agreement entered into with Citigroup Global Markets Limited, as announced on 5 April 2023.
Since 5 April 2023, Centrica has purchased 169,875,524 ordinary shares at a cost (excluding dealing and associated costs) of £201,007,369.82.
Gas prices have fallen steeply throughout 2023, retail bills are still 100% above pre Covid levels, and not forecast to drop in any significant amount . Power companies( mostly foreign owned) profit excessively.
No buy back since 26th Jul (based on no-RNS)?
JPMorgan raises Centrica price target to 170 (150) pence - 'overweight'
£2.10 is good for me to most likely sell up and invest in higher dividend payers ,tw , abrdn and may be itv. Door.
Goldman forecast 210p , things looking good
"e.g. Halving the No of shares should double the SP immediately - I'm optimistic."
Not necessarily.
Wouldn't hurt though.
MPO818 says - " there appears no stopping this share price rise."....Mmmm? probably?
Long term (by Dec.) I expect an increase to be >£1.60-ish , that is without the buy-back/cancelling of shares.
Short-term(to Sept), look at the MM-pigs pinning back the SP with there buys/sell of 1, 2, 3 shares
More than 300 Trades before 8.30am this morning ; mostly MMs' Auto-Execs, all below quoted BID price. MMs still have CNA, NWG and GSK in their sights waiting for the great leap-upward...advice would be hold these or tentative buys. Depending on how many shares are "killed-off"(liquidated) by Scotty & O'Shakey, then a great rise expected - e.g. Halving the No of shares should double the SP immediately - I'm optimistic.
MP0818, thanks for the advice, I hear what you are saying, if I want get back in again there will always be a dip, some disaster that crashes the stockmarket, it very rarely goes up in a straight line and a profit is a profit. 😁

Don't be too hasty with this. The dividend (is disappointing) is being kept low to deter political and media comment. The value for shareholders is being delivered by the buybacks with the total now standing at £1bn. By my reckoning there remains £550k in the buyback pot. They started in November 2022 at circa 85p, the shares touched 140p today so there remains plenty of buybacks in the coming weeks and months to drive the share price higher and the dividends will increase over time, with no debt and higher interest rates to further enhance the sp.
Augusts, I have been in and out of Cna for more years than I care to mention, the last couple of years have been dire, looking for an exit price of £1.46 which will give me a nice little profit.
