Jambon, let's hope that is correct. His profile has disappeared as have all his posts. I guess you did not see this afternoons posts, they were abusive in the worst possible way. He even mentioned your wife, which was totally un-called for. The man, has a psychological problem...dangerous.
I forgot to say that afer selling at a loss on friday the money left was payed into my account then removed on wednesday then email on my account stateing in was in the hands others that was 18th/19th Crest/ liquidator
I wonder if gillpat will be banned for good only to return under one of his other names ?!?! He has a personality that needs constant attention and i can only assume that the 7 day ban he recieved starting last friday broke him mentally !! He has called me out in here and boohoo and took to abusing boohoo members also for some reason! Hope you are all doing well
There are saying settlement date was tuesday even though there had sent a certifacte on friday stateing amount to be payed message from crest/liquidator
Cloudy.............he,gillpat posted a number of statements this afternoon. Pillorying, Jambon, Herehopin and my self in separate posts. Some were taken down, he then believed Hereshopin had done the deed and wrote an appaling post. IMO any investor who reacts in the way gillpat did has a serious problem. It now seems not only have his posts today been removed every other post has also been taken down, even his user profile has been deleted. Maybe Moderators have been observing his posts for a while? I just hope those members who have fallen for his nonsense have seen the light!
I'm sorry to hear that. Did you receive a contract note when you sold on Friday? What reason have they since given for not paying you?
Thanks fairdealer20 & Jambon. I'm amazed gillpat changed his mind. Astounded. I haven't been on here since I posted my question on Wednesday - thanks very much for your replies. I see that gillpat has posted some rude comments since then, even including Jambon's wife in his insults. Those insults backfired - they say nothing about Jambon and everything about gillpat. They vanished today - I assume they were taken down.
gillpat, you made so many errors in that one comment (at 1344 today). The irony is remarkable - especially your first sentence.
sold out on Friday 12th January money should up in my account. then a message from equinity/crest could not pay out were do I stand on this totally out of order
even if you're not an investor ! https://uk.reuters.com/article/us-britain-outsourcing-carillion-insight/road-to-ruin-carillion-collapse-puts-spotlight-on-uk-outsourcing-model-idUKKBN1F81NO Regards
You make a fair point Cransy. The final impact on the taxpayer following no help compared to the estimated impact with some form of government support is a costing I would love to see. If, as you suspect and I agree, it costs more with the no help option, May and her bunch need to be held to account. The private sector 'mantra' is loud and clear over this one "we can't nationalise losses and privatise profits". But the reality is that profitable parts of the Carillion empire have gone to other firms in the private sector and the government and small firms are footing the bill of other parts in higher government spending or lost jobs. Someone needs to get their act together quickly on this one or it will happen again.
For anyone still following this, keep an eye on which subbies get 'bailed' out by the fund that has been set up. What you will find is the smaller companies bailed out will all have connections to the Board of Carillion!
Prehaps it was a hoax along with the mysterious middle east bid that Oliver Gill from Cityam pushed out. Now they are more upbeat with task force news and things are going to work out,i wonder who they work for. Would love to know who the source was for the Middle East bid??. P.S they work for where ever the money's coming from-ha.
As it now emerges, the temporary management was too busy securing itself a package in the eventuality it goes bust so no one was chasing any debt or trying to put things right to trigger payments. The start date for the next CEO was 6 months into the future so why bother to do any groundwork for which the new CEO can take all the credit. Effectively, since announcement of high profile departures, they became a lame duck management, and for this the Board has to take ALL the responsibility.
The UK government would have been far better challenging the Qatar Government over the owed 200m to Carillion 6months earlier. That seems to be the overlooked cause of the financial distress and ultimately it's compounded collapse. If the Qatar's weren't paying towards world cup preparations, then surely our government could of politically pressured them through Fifa. Also as a shareholder I never understood why was Carillion response always it doesn't discuss it's relationships with customers. Especially when someone is evading paying you. Could it not have pressured the Qatar's through the media? Also the collapse will cost the UK government alot more now Carillion has gone bust than if it had helped it survive. If the government wasn't so weak and worried about labour it could have acted and the smaller businesses underneath as well as stabilizing the outsourcing sector.
Try IG, definitely better than Smart Investor. Beware though that moving ISA funds from Barclays was a nightmare, took about 13/14 weeks, totally incompetent.
Any profits in a sipp are tax free anyway so nothing to offset against to make a tax saving
I invested money from my lansdowne sipp into clln, and don't think I can offset my losses in that case, but if I had invested private funds in stock which then lost me money, then I may have been able to offset losses against future profits, or so I am led to believe by my accountant.
Illbetabuck. I was one of the lucky ones who left on Friday and it was pure luck, unlike Gilly who has divine powers. I wish you all well with this.
surya.....afraid the Company is bankrupt, not even enough money to pay the proposed Administrator, which would have given PI's a slim chance of something. The shares are worthless even though suspended. The only glimmer of hope for Shareholders maybe a Class action against Directors, Execs etc, if serious negligence or misdemeanors are proved. That, to be honest, is a very remote possibility and I would not depend on a good outcome. Best to move on.
Smart investor is horrendous!! I moved to hg lansdown, the move was just as bad as the new platform.... took over 10 weeks start to finish !! All the customers are leaving
I am wondering that, is there any way of getting the investment money back from Carillion?? have invested in carillion through hargreaves lansdown or did I lost all my money?? any suggestions?
I've previously traded via Barclays platform - and had not issues - found it simply, intuitive etc... They changed it though recently to another platform (Smart Investor) and it's pretty horrendous. If anyone else is familiar, please can you recommend any other platforms. My account is with Barclays and I trade through an ISA which has sort of always made it easier but the new platform just doesn't make sense so am looking for others.. Thanks in advance.
I dont believe any figures he said he had made, he he made 250k then 300k but previous to that he has said he had been to a meeting with his financial adviser who had informed him he could retire in 3 weeks time.... someone making profit of 250k needs a fianancial advisor to tell him he can retire?! Cool story though i guess !! I would say he was part of a boiler room scam club and thats about it
Unfortunately you will not get a penny
