Granted about utility, but if utility is the true measure, then what would you pay for a Gucci Hand Bag.

There is a strongly held belief that we live in a world where markets are free and that it is only because markets are free that people are free. If you want to see alternatives to this view then simply think....
I used to think like this, and came up with some ridiculous valuations for many things that we needed, and then more ridiculous valuations for things we did not need, ... and that was before I got married. A diamond ring?
Then we had kids and quite a few and values changed again.!?
I hold gold in various forms because it is in my DNA. Ever walked into some of the old churches in Spain and France...Italy, ....

Happy Friday y’al
Enjoy your weekend!
The problem with gold is it has no real value, the practical uses for it are minimal and such its price is determined by market consensus which is fickle, volatile & open to manipulation.
Farm land is a productive asset which gives us food which is quite necessary for the survival of the human race (whether that is a good thing is open to debate). Accordingly the value of farm land is easy to extrapolate from its productive potential.
Although I hold gold & will continue to do so I am always mindful that it’s value is largely based on irrational human obsession with shiny things even if they have little or no real use :)
Crude prices declined further on Thursday touching their lowest value in three months as concerns about the oil demand appeared to grow after the latest data showed that industrial production in the United States slowed more than expected in October.
The Energy Information Administration previously revealed an oil inventory build-up in the United States, with the steep rise in crude inventories seemingly fueling worries about weakening commodity consumption in the country.
The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for December deliveries tumbled 5.04% to sell at $72.80 per barrel at 12:40 pm ET. Brent for January contracts plummeted 4.79% to trade at $77.25 a barrel. Both benchmarks dropped to their lowest levels not seen since mid-July.

Busterhogdog,
Just shown this to my friends and everyone thinks its hilarious, everyone thinks its great fun that this forum has an "Oily Old Sod!" as it's cox!
Oh dear we really haven't a clue what the "Cox" is going on about with the sticky fingers pushing buttons, sounds a bit suspect, Oh dear, but who cares because now we can't stop laughing, possibly all this frivolity has made us "Dovish" in the right direction of course
Cheers!
Bye for now!
Pam

Quick read and it focuses on USD which impacts on gold of course and thus Centamin.
"IT'S LIKE GOLD"
Investment firms say they buy farmland because it is resilient to inflation, offers stable returns through land leases and has limited downside risk, features that became more attractive after the 2008 financial crash pushed investors to build diversified portfolios.
"It's a hard asset. It's like gold. It's not going anywhere," said David Gladstone, CEO of Gladstone Land, a real estate investment trust which owns 116,000 acres of farmland, mostly growing blueberries, strawberries, almonds, and other produce, across 15 states at a value of $1.6 billion.
With the growing distrust of governments and financial markets...no surprises here .. just like gold.
The NCREIF farmland index has averaged an 11.4% annual return over the past 25 years, compared to 9.3% for the S&P 500 index, according to an August Gladstone investor presentation.

Why insult others ? if you were nice to people then it works both ways mostly , Guess your just an oily old sod .
Good day and God Bless You .
Right direction Mr Bond- consistent with CPI earlier, so all continuing for a more dovish FED- here's hoping :-)
Thats looking promising 231k a rise from projected 220K.
But the previous figures ,they can argue, was a revision down.
This is still not enough evidence for Powel and the FED.
If it’s your’s, prob just a clearing system/multi systems temp glitch-
Quick on the button there George - wouldn’t worry about it- minor trade only above £13k
I bought 15408 at 1330 hrs @ 88.47 .....interestingly enough theres a 15408 transaction being shown as unknown ??
In the title. Do your own analysis.
Thank you Busterhogdog and the other members who have been so nice and explained how things work.
Until I started to look at forums to try and find out more about my investments I hadn't realised how petty and nasty to one another some of the posters can be bragging on about their trading successes and ridiculing anyone who asks questions, seems so silly!
I asked one of the guys who has a good position at a city trading desk what he thought about the behaviour of some forum members and he just laughed saying ignore the ones that brag the most they are usually just frustrated would be traders.
I shall have to go now as I have to work.
Bye for now !
Pam

One of the guys contacted me to say that a big investor Van Ecjk has just increased it's holding and this was a good sign?

He also said if I subscribed to Centamin website that I would get news of what's happening, I may do this.
Pam
Hello busterhogdog,I'm new to this type of forum so not really that familiar with what to do as I usually use social media to help promote my lifestyle and fashion industry related business.
I'm really glad to see though that there seems to be some friendly people on here who have tried to be helpful
Have a nice day!
Pam

Can you remember a year ago from your posts ?
I think not ? Captain Hindsight strikes again .
Steve will try to get your comments blocked ? He has blocked some of mine and does not believe in free speech just his own .
Seems some sort of Dictator or Zealot .
Stevejones does not know either ? probably a soft landing for rich people ?
Peeps like him infest these boards and they don , t care about others point of views !
Mr T and others talk sense and help . It s a shame that a few make comments to get a platform of dribble .
Haven't got a clue what a soft landing is, but whatever it is I hope its good for Centamin!
