Carnival may have been profitable in just one quarter over the last four years, but look where the ship is headed. Carnival's guidance last month called for an adjusted profit of $1.28 billion, or $0.98 a share. This finds Carnival trading for just 14 times this year's earnings.
The horizon gets even more snapshot friendly if you look out even longer. Analysts have been jacking up Carnival's fiscal 2025 prospects with every passing quarter. Wall Street pros are now modeling adjusted earnings of $1.42 a share for the next fiscal year that starts in December. Yes, the slide in Carnival's stock this year finds it now fetching just 10 times next fiscal year's profit target.
Bhants.
Have no idea of the drop, no logic again.
Royal results were yesterday and they were, again, record breaking, to the point that they re-increased their full year EPS as well. Royal, in the US, are 2% up...... CCL are 1% down.......
So WTF was that drop about? It was just around £11 before NYSE opened. Was Royal that good - or bad?
B
Thanks Bot.
Yes, some 6% of the upward movement is today alone. I suspect the rest was in anticipation.
B
If only I had bought the. My average for NWG is £2.75 so I am up around 12.5% plus Divi on Monday.
B
Bhants.
This is why Natwest has jumped today

Bhants. Re me being happy.!
I missed 30p, or basically £20k, so I need the price now to be £14 so I'm happy :-)
Bhants.
OMG
Haven't looked at Natwest for a while...... That's incredible
I sold at the end of Jan for £2.16, and it's now £3.07, that's a 45% rise in 3 months, awesome.
I have to say, I have no idea, but the rate it's gone up you would think it's got to go down a bit.!
But Monday is payment date, not Ex-Divi date, so Monday, you get another 11p, which is damn close to 50% in 3 months.
AWESOME......
I see that Carnival have now formally announced the completion of tge minor financial restructuring.
B
You must be getting close to being happy with the price, Bot, especially as you bought some more.
What is happening at NatWest? Huge gain in the last two weeks. Any idea what will happen after dividend on Monday?
B
So On Wednesday, we closed at $14.895, which was £10.86..... That's 1.372/1
Overnight last night the US closed at $15.20, so it would seem that we have missed out on two jumps, from Thursday morning and now this morning.
In theory, using the same exchange rate, we should be at £11.07........
Oil dramatically up, sentiment is up as well though, we may get a nice wave.
Decided to not buy more CCL but jumped back into TUI, as it's a lot lower than where I sold it.
Happy Friday everyone.!
The US after hours is currently $15.18
14c gain
10p
We closed at $15.04.
With the US in a massive sell off, and bright red, it's incredible how CCL has stayed level.
Well done Carnival.........for a change........a nice change.!
WOW.
Today would have been the perfect day for me to have got the 30p back if I could have timed it right.
At the top (excluding the spike) was 1112, and it's now 1082......30p.!
If I could have timed it on the spike, it would have been 50p.
Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda.! LOL
Looks like everyone is moving money to "safe havens" again due to the PCE report due tomorrow.!
Dow, S&P and NAS bright Red.
One of the best ones I have heard is that Royal were considering charging for the Pizza.!
Suffice to say, there was a huge uproar and the idea was shelved.
Royal charge $149 for the "sun lounger" on the upper deck, which is next door to the normal sun loungers.
It's a bit like the "over the water" cabanas on Cococay, their private Island. They are between $1500 and $2500.....the classic is that they are always sold out.
Some of the add ons are crazy. I was in Celebrity the other month and they turfed me off a large sun lounger on the top deck as they are now paid for! Suffice to say, they were all empty and people were sitting on the grass floor. It's making cruising less and less enjoyable.
Ken.
I get at least 4 emails a day from Royal
I get App messages selling onboard packages at least once a day
They all want all ships totally full all the time to maximise the capacities and everyone needs to buy the extra packages.
I wonder why if the market is so rosy am I bombarded with what seems like overkill advertising from the cruise lines.? K
Royal went up and then dropped $4, i.e. 3%
Interesting.!
Very Interesting.!
Yep.!
Strong Pop Up.
ROYAL CARIBBEAN GROUP REPORTS FIRST QUARTER RESULTS AND INCREASES FULL YEAR GUIDANCE ON CONTINUED STRONG DEMAND
We normally do alright off the back of rcl but I guess it’s what American markets look like overall later.
META reported and was down quite a bit after hrs and nasdaq down pre-market..and i guess CCL is in the Nasdaq..i found nothing on cruiselines though. Today its RCL turn to come out with results. so we could pop. GLA. DYOR.
US main indexes after hours took a massive hit, don't know why, probably anticipation of safe havens before the Fed meeting/minutes of PCE for Friday, but that's all I can find.
After Hours volumes are tiny, we need to wait until 1pm ish before volumes pick up.
