Hold on.
My brain has finally worked.
I've got it.!
We all know that the UK doesn't have the voting rights, and therefore trades at a discount.......
It's CUK in the US, not CCL.........
If you look at CUK in the US, it's $13.15 vs CCL's $14.40.
The CUK is like for like with the UK GBP SP, which an exchange rate of 1.25 as well.
So this is what everyone should be looking at, not the CCL price in the US.
Link attached....
The problem is going to be when / if the US $ loses ground to the GBP£, because as the exchange rate goes from 1.25 to 1.30 to 1.35 obviously the USD CUK price will go up, but out GBP£ value won't .
Anyway.!

Interesting how it's $14.40, which is 30c more than our close yesterday, which should be 21p up, but we are only 12.50p up.
Damn.
I covered the down, I covered the up, I forgot about the "nothing standstill zone"
Queue no movement and no trades 😂
Whatever happens, I'm now covered.! :-)

I have 100 held in freetrade for obc You get a statement each month with name, address and holding. Very easy to upload
Bots. MNG then Direct Line, Aviva & LGEN to come. Love them . K
Worked fine for me though my ii info was too old so just sent a screengrab of my up to date holding
email them - their customer service works
Can’t get Stockperks to work either. It’s won’t give me the blinkin credit….
K, yes, kinda, you can submit as soon as you have a booking ref but the extra doesn’t show until you have coughed up in full.
Bot, there’s loads available for free on YouTube. I use it when walking the family dog. Thanks for the tip about funds. One day………
B
Bhants.
Glad you had fun at the Opera.
Unfortunately I haven't been for many many years, and honestly didn't "get it" when I went 20+ years ago, I'm sure that I would nowadays though, but the boss still wouldn't.! so will probably never go.
Just got my 6.5% (13.2p) Dividend from M&G. That was a lovely surprise that I completely forgot about.
I just re-looked again, every single one of my funds has outstripped all of my share purchases.
It really does show you that diversification really does pay off in the end, and takes all the emotion out of share dealing. They just slowly plod by, making 0.1%, 0.05% per day, sometimes losing 0.1% or 0.05% per day as well.
The Group Funds, I have to say, are so secure it's actually incredible to watch them. One of the Group Funds is invested in over 50 funds, which has more than 2,000 shares.
Just putting it out there, as nothing exciting is happening in the world of CCL today, like most days.!
Bhants, Don't you need to have paid for your cruise in full before claiming shareholder OBC? K
What a miserable git I am!
Went to a performance of Carmen the opera last night by the Ukrainian Opera Company - last event of their UK tour. Brilliant.
At the end, they played and sang their national anthem - very emotional!
Have a lovely day everyone.
B
Bhants it has always been a ninety day window to claim your obc, don't know if that has changed since stockperks have been brought in to process claims.
Bot's, no it has to be two drinks packages or nothing.
Could do with an up tick here on the sp 💤
We closed at $14.10, the US Closed at $14.30
20c Gain
14p Gain for us tomorrow.
So Bhants.
Just so I get this right.
You're moaning about StockPerks because you're trying to log that you have shares now for a cruise in over a years time.!
and of course, you could have sold the shares before the cut off date....hence why they won't let you log them. LOL
I must confess that I was trying to deal with my cruises for next year - if only to register an “interest” but got the response “come back in November”.
B
Is one allowed to get an alcohol drink package and the other person only a soda package.?
I helped a few people with that on Royal, and managed to get "around" the rules there.
I know why they insist on the two people, because obviously you get two glasses of wine, 10 minutes apart, and drip feed the other persons wine glass.
People seem outraged on the Facebook groups, as far as I can tell I can buy a bottle from room service for about the same price as Tesco. As it’s duty free to them, I guess there is about £20 profit per bottle to them.
I don’t see it pushing people to drinks package, wish they’d allow one person to get a package in the room. My wife might knock back enough to get her moneys worth, but I won’t
Odd you say that Bhants. I used it a couple of days ago for my Princess Japan cruise next month, and have already had confirmation back. They didn't even ask me for a new broker statement to prove I'm a shareholder which I thought a bit odd.
PS “Stockperks”, which Carnival now insist we use for the loyalty OBC, is a pain.
Hi Bot,
Agree with that.
Just booked two more cruises on Arcadia (to Norway in 2026) and Arvia to the Western Med in 2025.
