Could be a decent afternoon here
The reason for the spike upwards was because of the US Jobs report, which showed a lower number of jobs than expected, and a lower pay rise that previous, so Yields are down, which means stocks are higher.
This puts more pressure on the Fed to announce reductions at the next meeting
Dow, NAS, S&P are all well over 1% up.
However, CCL like all travel in theory will calm down from the excitement and bob around until the actual reduction in Interest Rates,
Ignore that!!! I'm confusing it with P&O! It's been a long day š„ŗ
Have Cunard changed the onboard spend to dollars???!!!
Queen Anne. Not too pricey Imo. Picked up 14 nights in November for Ā£900 (inside) with 650 dollars on board spend+ shareholder benefits. Bargain! 1 of 4 we have booked including 2 P&O and 1 Holland and America.
A bit pricey and tips not included Queen Ann.
Even .
$14.46 UK Close / US Close (Nearly)
This surely has to be close now.
Re Queen Anne ... look a lovely boat ... sorry ship !!
Queen Anne arrived in Southampton today.!
Another ship added to the ever growing fleet.
By 2026 there is 10 new ships? (I think) at approx. 4.000 avg capacity, 40,000 a week, 500,000 extra passengers a year....

Betterlife, cost cutting wouldnāt hack it and they do have a plan and strategy for paying it down with the aim of achieving āinvestment gradeā status by 2026. They cannot do that without reducing debt significantly.
I watch the daily swings with astonishment but this was always going to be a medium to longer term share to hang on to. Just be thankful you werenāt a holder when it dipped under Ā£5. I had bought at Ā£7.95. If I had sold then, I would have had to find something to make the money back. As it is, ā¦ā¦
YL, I hear mixed stories about NCL - but then the same goes for P & O. We have just booked for 2025 on Arvia and Arcadia respectively.
I am doing my bitš
B
I took the opportunity to get my 100 shares in NCL today for the perks. $15.91
Saying that, I've only ever been on one NCL, and no Regent or Oceania!
Dumped more than half . It looks like Iām going to sell the rest tomorrow and move on from carnival . Has been very painful stock since results. I can not trust and wonāt Risk my investment.I really wonder how Ceo is going pay massive 28b dollar debit when he has not got plan for cutting cost .
Just about holding its knickers up today!
B
UK Closed $14.28
US After Hours Close $14.54
26c, 19p
The US Closed at $14.47
It went all the way up to $14.79 and dropped back, but so did the whole of the US. The whole of the tech Nasdaq went up 300 points and dropped 300 points, so the US swung by 2%, which when you consider the NAS is something like $50 Trn that is an incredible pump and dump of $1 trn, or $1,000 BILLION swing........
Betterlife.
This isn't a CCL thing, it's a whole travel thing.
Oil has dropped a lot, BP was down over 2% today
Travel stocks will swing wildly whilst rates are high, Oil is bouncing, Inflation is high etc.
You need to do what you need to do, but being your age, ignore it.
You are in at an exceptional prices, and in 10-15-20 years time, you will look back and laugh.
If you can time the swings it's brilliant, but most of the time it doesn't work.
PATIENCE..............2025 - 2026
Bot ,
The winners are US again we are the losers.
I will dump half of my holding tomorrow and keep the money for now . I donāt trust Carnival anymore. If Norwegian has dropped on good result that means carnival will double the drop on the results.
Stupid me didnāt buy some Oxb stock few days ago as I was buying small chunk and selling it but look where it is .
Going back down..as per usual. Hahahaha.
We closed at $14.28
It currently has SHOT UP 50c to $14.78
Betterlife.
Last June, CCL published their results which were record beating at the time.
They dropped 15%
Over the next two days they gained 25%
Over the next month, they gained 40%
They went from Ā£11 to Ā£9.50 ish to Ā£13.50 all within a month ish.
The issue is the Interest Rates are staying higher for longer, therefore, theory again, everyone will have less money for longer, which in turn means that they will cut back on spend, which means that they won't take lavish cruise vacations...
Really, as I've said 101 times, everyone feel that taking a vacation now is a "right", people will never make the same mistake as they did and "save up" if they can't afford it. They will put it on a credit card and go, and worry about it afterwards.
At some point, this will just drive upwards, the only danger is war or another covid.
Calm down Mrs Mannering
CCL affected by NCL Holdings... but why?..
NCL revenue is up 20% year-over-year on with increasing strong demandā¦ā¦.
NCL beat Q1 guidance across key metrics
NCL raises full year guidance based on strong revenue
Someone please tell me what I'm missing here?
Get ready to load up with more
Norwegian are down over 15% . I have never seen anything like this drop from in same day after strong results . So what does this mean for us when we have our result ?
