haha Cheers mate... Didnt see your earlier post 13.35... I rang them and asked them as i just seen the fall yesterday in shareprice and got in... Either brave or stupid... But seems like a good enough share to recover for the longer term definately :). Thanks for taking the time to look for me though :)
Its funny how I never even looked at Britvic before...the huge 15% drop brought it to my attention lol..I wish I had bought supergroup after its huge drop..just some patience would have paid of handsomely...up over 15% today.. Was tempted to go into burberry, but this one seemed better value and less of a risk
Sorry for been dumb and asking about the dividends i now know its Feb the next ones what get paid... Have to have them by december... Missed out on the ones paid tomorrow but think i still got in at a reasonable price :)... Gla
Plus britvic can probably get compensation.
I dont think you can go far wrong with another 5%..100 million was wiped off the value on the big drop, but its only going lose approx 25 million on the recall..seems overdone to me
Final ex date with payment mid feb.
Up 4 p from 251 bottom. Tempted to add another 5%
Your a pain in the posterior ;) Just looked 5 days later for first dividend I would guess next would be 5 days later at 12/12.
Isn't that already factored into the price.. isn't it just the payment date tomorrow..I thought the price drops on the ex-dividend date?
Divident date is for payment tomorrow, shares are already ex divi so people can sell and would still earn the divi
On the up...hope it can last...hasn't taken much of a pasting considering the footsie itself is down over 1%
I have bought these today at 252, around 20% of my portfolio. Hoping to sell half on a short term bounce and keep the rest for the long term. Don't know whether it was brave or foolish...
Sorry to keep going on mate, do you know when the final divi gets paid on this one? i know theres one tomorrow but the next one? as i only bought yesterday... at 258 couple of pence cheaper than yaself lol
Totally agree I think the markets over reacted just like when admiral dropped. Dividend yield now 7% at current price, tempted to increase portfolio to 15%.
Dunno better than my 264 though lol. Like I said 1/2 now if your feeling cautious or all in if bullish. I'm in for 10% of portfolio wouldn't advice any more.
no i mean the next one sorry... i know theres one tomorrow but theres 2 a year right??
The wise trader would say never buy after a profit warning... This one is either hold or sell at the moment i think. But if you are in it for the longterm, I would say this will be a winner in the end. There are lots of Britvic products, the fruit shoot issue is just a little stumble in the grand scheme of things.
13/7
Sorry to sound so dumb but does anyone know when the divi get paid for this share please???
Thanks bought in (slightly to early ) at 264 this morning.
Britvic has launched an investigation into the testing of its products after it announced the recall of its Robinson’s Fruit Shoot line stripped £25m off profits. The probe could prompt the soft drinks group to sue the testing companies that failed to identify potential problems with the plastic cap on drink bottles, targeted at children Read more: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-2172134/Britvic-launches-investigation-product-testing-recall-Fruit-Shoot-strips-25m-profits.html#ixzz20OBHCyav
Read an article last night that said Britvic could well sue the Company who tested the Cap with the problem the testing is outsourced and they pay big money to the contractors to make sure the tests are up to standard
WEDNESDAY'S MOST FOLLOWED: BRITVIC, SCANCELL HOLDINGS ..... Soft drinks maker Britvic (LON:BVIC) and vaccine developer Scancell Holdings (LON:SCLP) were among the companies that generated the most interest today with both making the list of the most searched for UK stocks on Google Finance. Britvic took a hammering after releasing a profit warning, while Scancell, which had no news out today, surged nearly 10 percent. In a trading update, Britvic revealed that the impact from a product recall announced last week would be worse than initially thought. Last week, the group said there had been safety issues with a new design cap for Fruit Shoot and Fruit Shoot Hydro packs sold in the UK and France and that it was recalling the products. It was initially estimated that these problems would reduce full year pre-tax profits by between £1 and £5 million, however, the overall impact and sales recall is now expected to reach up to £25 million across current and next financial year. Britvic explained today that it has been unable to speedily resolve the issues with the new design cap and it was therefore decided to re-supply in the short term with an alternative in-market proven sports cap. The group added that it expects to increase its output to meet historic levels of demand within six months. Shares in Britvic tumbled 14 percent to 257.6 pence, valuing the group at £623.5 million, while Scancell saw its shares rally nine percent to 18 pence. On message boards, some traders suggested that the buying activity was driven by expectations of news from the ongoing trial of the company’s DNA ImmunoBody vaccine SCIB1 for the treatment of melanoma. Back in June, Scancell secured regulatory approval to increase the maximum treatment period from 6 months up to a further 5 years in its Phase I/II clinical trial of SCIB1. The clinical trial of SCIB1 is currently being conducted at five hospital centres in the UK. Over the past month, shares in Scancell have more than doubled, surging from eight pence to Tuesday’s close of 16.5 pence.
