Britvic Share Price (BVIC)

The conundrum with these takeover situation is whether you can find an investment that will yield more in the next 6 months than the 5.5%/6.5% that holding on to Britvic will yield. Some days I think I can, but then the market falls back again and I am not so sure. So far I still have not sold any of my Britvic holding, but as it is in my ISA the money will need to be reinvested and so I am looking for a home for it. Someone predicted the other day that by the end of Q1 2025 the FTSE would be over 10,000 which would make selling now and investing in a tracker a no-brainer, but I have my doubts!

And just before the dividend date they will cost more than they do now. The price should increase slowly towards 1290p before the dividend is paid

The offer price of 1315p (including special dividend) is 4.12% up on today's buying price. I assume that the 6.5% estimate is an annualised rate assuming a March completion. End of March completion would be more like 5.5% annulaised.

The risk is that the deal takes longer so you get lower than a 5.5%/6.5% annualised rate

A rough guestimation is if you buy shares at todays price of 12.65 it is roughly equivalent to 6.5% - meaning if your bank was paying you 6.5% on the cash it would be worth the same then as well.

Well worth holding on to your cash for as long as possible and buy just before the ex div date I think - can win both ways then.

It is a deal where share holders will get a 25pence per share dividend and then the shares will be paid out at 12.90 per share afterwards.
