"Paraytec confirms that its virus capture technology will now be applied to the development of both the optical measurement system and a lateral flow device." from 18th dec rns
where in last rns did they mention LFD's......are we still on TRACK to deliver on this front...as it would make sense....have our MARKET LEADING test....out there...RESULTS in 2mins...very very ACCURATE...
Braveheart notes the recent discussions in the media regarding the underperformance of a range of single-use testing (lateral flow) devices, which are being trialled throughout the UK. The Company is committed to developing a test which achieves the performance parameters specified by the Medical Health Regulatory Authority and delivers a test result in five minutes.
Paraytec confirms that its virus capture technology will now be applied to the development of both the optical measurement system and a lateral flow device.
So, looks like they’re in the mix and miles ahead with the 120 second test especially if they’re Alison embroiled in an LFD Kit.
A very good investment and bodes well for us.
Also lol. (Don’t know where Alison appeared from)
Liverpool just reported alison missing!
"Can anyone confirm the patent and copyright for the paraytec test please and what part of the testing equipment this covers exactly?"
Don't think anyone on this BB has the inside info to be able to answer that question but there are many patents already with more ongoing and planned.
You would think/assume TB has this covered and the tech is patented to stop anyone directly copying or using a similar system/method. However there are always ways round this and nothing is totally copyproof, especially if/when the likes of China get involved as they don't seem to care too much about patents.
Paraytec has employed specialist patent lawyers to assist with developing a pathway for the protection of the intellectual property and know how that has been developed during the creation of our COVID-19 test and to ensure that all novel intellectual property is protected by patents. Paraytec currently has a suite of five core patents granted and a further three patent applications submitted. Paraytec expects to be filing further additional patent applications over the first two quarters of 2021 as it develops the intellectual property around the COVID-19 test project.
The test involves the deployment of a DNA aptamer - a short, single-stranded DNA molecule that adopts a shape that is complementary to that of the virus surface protein. By coating a test surface with millions of copies of the aptamer molecule, Paraytec's CAPTURE module can trap Covid-19 virus particles from a swab sample, as they flow over the test surface. Trapped viruses are then instantaneously coated with the SIGNAL GENERATION module, a synthetic chimeric protein, that both recognises the viral surface as well as being highly fluorescent. The resultant fluorescent signal is measured by the DETECTION module using a version of Paraytec's patented Actipix area imaging technology configured for fluorescence detection.

Totally agree, especially where TB is concerned, it's best to know the facts rather than assuming anything. However TB is certainly a clever/shrewd business man so you could be fairly sure he wouldn't want anyone copying all the work/tech, after all it's his company/money.
There is nothing on there recent so the three currently in application are not known plus the additional ones due either, but you would think they would be more specific to current developments.
One thing is for sure if I had developed something "miraculous" I would keep my technique as hidden as possible and wouldn't go blurting it out until it was fully protected. For that sole purpose I think they have not publicly declared at this moment what they are patenting and protecting their assets.

Here is a link found. might have something to do with some of the technology used in this test https://patents.justia.com/assignee/paraytec-limited
Seems fine with me. Thanks guys.
