The D colour plays a huge factor. Diamond #1 can be worth 5 times the value of Diamond #2, just by being a letter closer to D (D being the best).
$430/carat is a past average tony, for the entire month/qtr production and larger stone values increase exponentially
My guess is
21 c = +$300k
58 c = depends what its cut into, but its a huge find
The three diamonds are going to retail auction, our own BOD says they fetch around $430 per carat. The latest finds are 89 carats so the value is around $38,000 we need a few more discoveries :-)
Bmeister
Agree. i was losing faith here with the delays/overruns/placings, but much more comfortable now that I will see a decent return here b4 too much longer.
Fantastic find and the most important aspect of this is that their diamond mine has 50+ carat diamonds in it which, while most was confident this was the case, has now been confirmed. Should get more people interested in BRD now and crazy that this is just a £6m mcap
Hmm, the proof will be in the auction rooms to see who pays to have a go at cutting the black sulphide intrusions out to leave a literal and metaphorical gem(s).
Nice income, but not the rock we all dream of to "do a Petra" on Blue Rock.
More importantly a heavily discounted placement is now less likely.
Boom
This is still significant and shows the potential of the mine.
..... you have all read about the spotted black sulphide intrusions also mentioned in the RNS?
Think of this as probably multiple smaller stones rather than one huge walloper....
Waiting still for the next one.....
I spoke too soon. Lol
Back to work
I am retiring today
Petra's smaller diamond went for $40.2m
Boom
Holy S**t. This is the mother of all diamonds. Am I dreaming. I only bought in last Thursday
BlueRock Diamonds PLC, the AIM listed diamond producer, which owns and operates the Kareevlei Diamond Mine ('Kareevlei') in the Kimberley region of South Africa announces the discovery of a 58.6 carat stone.
Boom
How gutting the words "spotted black sulphide intrusions" could be..... Otherwise that really would've been a rock!
So the value may just be from multiple wee rocks after a bit of slicing and dicing of that beast....
Maybe next time.....
The stone BRD has found is of exceptional quality and bigger. Investors here could shortly be in for a massive nice surprise.

Nice little find there and should start seeing more of these and hopefully bigger when we ramp up to full production in Oct. Shame the market has failed to notice but maybe to do with issuing the RNS at 11am? Hopefully when they announce the value which I reckon will be ~$300k then people will start realising how undervalued we are. Still think a takeover soon is likely
21 carats, slightly more than half of that 39 carat you were wishing for.....
Keep wishing....
There is an update on it at bluerock diamond twitter. Looks like there is a slip (always) on its expansion project.
Eventhough, after commissioning, we cannot expect massive rise in share price. There is a need for increase in carats production by achieving/exceeding the targets forecasted and I think early next year or after Q1 2022 would be the judgemental period, unless they started producing bigger and higher value stones like 39.34 carat Blue diamond that was sold for $40.2m (mistakenly by BRD) by PDL.
Still no word on the plant upgrade and commissioning. Originally it was supposed to be completed by July and whilst projects 'always' slip, a brief update would be nice!
THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONTAINS INSIDE INFORMATION
12 July 2021 LSE: PDL
Petra Diamonds Limited
("Petra" or the "Company" or the “Group”)
Sale of 39.34ct Exceptional Type IIb blue diamond for just over US$40 million
Petra Diamonds Limited is pleased to announce that the 39.34 carat exceptional Type IIb blue diamond recovered at the Cullinan diamond mine in April 2021 has been sold to a partnership between De Beers and Diacore for US$40,180,180, payable in cash prior to delivery of the stone.
Mined from the Cullinan C-Cut, this adds to the famous diamonds that have originated from this iconic mine. The diamond achieved a price of US$1,021,357 per carat.
Richard Duffy, Chief Executive Officer, commented on the sale:
“This sets a new milestone for Petra in achieving its highest price for a single stone and follows the sale of the 299 carat Type IIa white diamond in March this year and the five blue diamonds comprising the Letlapa Tala Collection in November 2020, purchased by the same De Beers Diacore partnership.”

About Petra Diamonds Limited
BRD have had 2 production updates since the beginning of April, how can it not have been mentioned, Sounds very fishy to me. That seems an incredible price for a Diamond, perhaps it should read $4.2 million??

Unfortunately it was Petra diamonds who sold 39.3 carat to De Beers and Diacore for more than $40 million.
BlueRock Diamonds? Naaahh
Bull**** Ian Walker- make sure your story are correct before posting.
The diamond was recovered from the Cullinan diamond mine.
Blue rock do not own the Cullinan mine, they own the kareevlei mine.
Either a mistake by the Journalist or a deliberate attempt at a hoax.
Probably a mistake.
