The whole point of an OO is to raise new money for the Company. If Directors bought shares in the market the money is of no benefit.
Makes open offer look decent if tomorrow we get in 0.4's
So the board have subscribed for £300k worth of shares when all they had to do was spend £15k buying shares on the market to add £2m to the mcap and put the price above the placing.
Let’s go
jono i think you sum it up nicely
Jono I agree with your last paragraph.
Maybe on face value; exec director would have been a more appropriate appointment for Riley.
That being said, Riley; like the other directors are in a position to lobby for a new CEO if they don't feel Eytan is competent.
Either way I see todays news as positive for the company.
Star/Egg
No bang to head and not on dark side or any side for that matter.
If I think something is positive I'll say so and if negative also so and say it as it or how I think it is imo.
Today I feel is positive in the way that potter is putting in a fair amount but I also think that he may depart soon.
Appointment of Riley is a good appointment and he does have a good cv and is in the right place for bpc.
But don't think they are out of the woods yet.
Spud of S2 is still dependent on the open offer as they have repeatedly stated and don't know if this is to keep emphasising to shareholders how dependent they are on them.
So some good news but they need shareholders to cough up more and thats a big ask as they have lost so much and don't have any confidence in the bod.
Also imo Potter should have gone and someone like Riley should have been appointed as Ceo as soon as possible not Eyran as he was also to blame for the funding fiasco.
Failure should not be rewarded, and the blame is the responsibility of those in charge and nobody else.

Mobilisation of the drilling rig to the Saffron-2 wellsite has been completed, all elements of the rig are currently being assembled on site, and spud of the well remains on track for 23 May 2021 #saffron2 #Trinidad #BPC #oilandgas
RR,
Show me who your friends are, and I'll show you who you are.
Sincerely.
Was "exiting times" a freudian slip...or are you taking the opportunity to sell....could be read either way lol...;-)
Yes exciting times directors buying is always a very good sign
I’m hoping to see in a years time was the right move to stick with it.
Exiting times for this company and genuine shareholders. It’s good to see so many buys.
Cut away all the "fluff" from the first RNS and I'm left with;
"The date for anticipated commencement of drilling thus continues on schedule to be on or around 23 May 2021, whilst remaining conditional on the successful completion of the current Open Offer Fundraising process (as advised on 11 May 2021)"
Second RNS is an obvious attempt to persuade shareholders to take up the offer.
Does anyone really believe the "short extension of the Fundraising timeline to accommodate the request of some shareholders for additional time to participate" line? Who are they and why do the need 6 days, to raise funds? It seems to me that the offer failed and the placing didn't happen because the II's won't touch the shares.
The final "Weasel words" are "the current timeline envisages the results of the Open Offer to be announced on 19 May 2021, and the results of any subsequent Placing to be announced on 20 May 2021". Current timeline envisages, that infers to me that the dates could move again and are not set in stone. Also "ANY subsequent placing", if this was a fixed plan it would be "THE subsequent placing" surely?
Jonny - did you take a bang to the head this morning??
Starchild,
I agree with your post not only in what you've said, how you've said it, and what you haven't said.
Riley seems to be a very capable addition to the board and management taking part in the offer is good.
PRD to acquire BPC would put a cat amongst the pigeons….
Sorry- forgot to paste.
Robert Riley13 May 2021 10:06
Morning all,
Did anyone notice the new appointment of Mr Robert Riley as a new non exec of BPC as in their rns.
Mr Riley has many years experience in the O & G industry notably CEO at one point of BPTT as well as working for other Majors in executive roles.
Their message this morning is of increasing production and generating cashflow.
Interesting that one his current non exec directorships is with the Massy Group as mentioned at the bottom of the rns.
Moves on the Chess Board ?

Morning All
See below post off the PRD board. For those of you unaware, Massy are the petrochemical plant working in partnership with Heritage and PRD in providing the C02 for EOR on T & T. It looks like there could be a tie up here and we could all be working together.
Good luck with the Saffron drill, hopefully your new CEO will decide to invest boring bread and butter projects such as in improving production rather than wild adventures, for the time being at least.
so rare on AIM gives me a more confidence in this outfit.
