I see GS have reduced their target price here even further. Crazy IMO. You have to wonder if the US shorters have any input into that valuation. Its time someone cracked down on the shorting of British companies.
This comment was made too: The move is expected to reduce British Land’s earnings per share by around 0.6 pence (0.73 cents) for the six months to next March, the company said. Could anyone kindly explain how receiving 7 years rent up front reduce current earnings?
Property company British Land yesterday announced that META paid the firm £149m to surrender the lease at their H Q in Regent's Place. British Land also announced the sale of a £125m portfolio of non-core assets ahead of book value. Peel Hunt say these moves, along with 'robust occupier demand' bode well. They say buy the shares and have set a target price of £4-05.
Sp,broke above pivot of 31/8/23, at 323.60, which is bullish. Down trendline of 19/7/23 was also broken upward. Similarly the sector chart broke above its pivot, for a bullish scenario . Price projection for BLND, is 360.
Beware the broker updates! You need to be careful of their motives sometimes. Looks oversold here. I'd rather take the 7% on offer here rather than the "safe" 6% where your capital is GUARANTEED to fall with inflation. Looks like locking in here could yield a minimum 7% long term, with every prospect that the share price will start to converge with the NAV in the next year or so. There's always a "flip side"!! LOL DYOR

Yes there's been a mass exodus out of equities into bonds , including myself for the easy life , another interest rate rise on the cards likely now , probably see SP under 3£ , there's always a flip side though....atb
One reason why the prices of shares in REITs might be “softening” at the moment is that the Government has just announced that it is offering over 6% on National Savings Bonds. It is now offering a rate of interest comparable to that which shares in REITs are offering by way of dividend income, but with absolutely no risk of loss of capital, up to a maximum, I think, of a million pounds. This may be enough to tempt many investors away from equities and into bonds.

Astronomical after hours trades. £240m UT.... never ever have I seen that amount of UTs....sold out £250k this morning... dodged a potentially big downturn in thus.

Well considering that Goldman Sachs gave this a sell in their broker notes today, with a price target of 270p these have stood up pretty well. Same with Land Sec, a price target below todays price but share price produces a slight uptick. Ones to watch.
Totally pathetic price action. Below 1980s share price in nominal and real terms.... and almost bottom of the FTSE 250.
Would be surprised if this is not taken over as now almost less than 50% of NAV.
The FTSE is the most bizarre stock market in the world. Wages grow - doesnt like that.... unemployment rises ... doesnt like that.... sales go up.... doesnt like that..... inflation drops like a stone... doesnt like that... its raining outside... doesnt lile that.... what the hell moves this monstrosity....

Yes, there’s some real value forming in the FTSE and maybe this is one of them. I believe Land Sec goes ex div tomorrow. Will that mean a further fall? Certainly two shares to watch Nuri.
The lowest price of british land in the great recession in 2009 was £3.30 and thats £5.30 in todays price....
Been reopening position here this month for dividend income.
In sub £3.02, reduced over £3.52 and now have a position sub 275p to build upon. ReAdded at 3.17p yesterday.
Should be a good base to trade down to zero average over before year end.
Recovery dividend well managed.

J.P.MORGAN BULLISH ON OUTLOOK FOR UK PROPERTY STOCKS
(Sharecast News) - Analysts at J.P.Morgan sounded a 'bullish' note on the outlook for UK property stocks.
In a research note written the day before, but published on Thursday, they noted similarities with the 1990s and highlighted two conditions which in their opinion "seemingly" catalysed listed UK property stocks' comeback in 1992.
The first is that there had been a trough in values in sight - five months in the 90s - and secondly the Bank of England's last rate hike before soon beginning to cut.
"Following this morning's UK inflation print fears around rates are moderating, and combined with low positioning in the sector, we see more to go for in UK listed property should this slowing inflation trend continue," they said.
From trough to peak, listed UK property stocks had rallied 136% over 19 months versus the FTSE 100, the analysts added.
They estimated that the four overweight stocks in their coverage universe, which included British Land, GPE, and Workspace offered 31% upside.
In real terms British land shares are £2 below 1988 share price....
Yea, with the payment of dividend in 9 days time, it's great that British Land is rising 8% today. They should also pay an interim later in year around 10p, probably ex div around 23rd Nov. May fall back owing to the payment 28th July, but hopefully not much, so a sound investment for recovery.
Pleasant surprise today with SP, but analysts still saying not enough to stop another 25 base rate rise with today's CPI figures, sold now usually trick kept profits in shares plus June dividend, been a great day selling....atb
