Expect a rollercoaster this year.
Sooner the better we consolidate. Lloyds too is a penny share sort of but doesn't go through this torture.
Your in a penny share. Ebbs and flows here can be tsunamis
May i suggest you try investing in a tracker bond which comes with a capital guarantee
Heading for a 5% drop! Expect the same tomorrow, while the cats are away, and yes by far the worst bank share!
French mayor names street after Brexit... http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-38442586
Ross and trump will undo Obama questionable policy's on regulation.. it's got to the stage where it's illegal for banks to make money ... shocking
links not working too well.. the penalties are substantial.. but then there is Trump.. and there is Ross .. so these could be reduced..
Was delighted to note that Wilbur is a real All American - hope he has a current MOT certificate because at the pace he was stepping out, excited to meet the new American President, they will probably have to wheel him around as soon as he gets a few more miles on the clock. Marvelous stuff which you just couldn't make up and get as good a laugh. Good luck all
Yes John, who would have thought indeed. However I think there are three factors as to just why we are at a thankful 24. 1, the banking sector over the year, 2, bad luck, and 3, mainly because someone wants us at this level. Onward and I hope only upward for 2017.
if anyone had come on here this day last year and told me we would be at 24c a year later and worse that we would actually be relieved to be there, well I for one would never have believed it possible. Yet here we are and all this year has done is laid the ground work for an even more uncertain 2017. So pointless trying to predict where we will be this time next year. Best we can do is be thankful if we all make it through the year and be here to celebrate any improvement and complain about any deterioration when we get there. Have a happy Christmas everyone and I look forward to seeing what you all have to say as we muddle through whats going to be a very interesting 2017. Nollaig shona dhaoibh!
So the bank ends the year by knocking 20bps off its CET1 ratio as a result of a re-rating of the risk on its irish loan book and the insurance against default on other loans. Hopefully the ECB will find that the risk rating is fair now because that 8% change had quite a big effect on the CET1 according to the RNS (-60bps). Luckily the other transactions were positive. http://www.irishtimes.com/business/financial-services/bank-of-ireland-dividend-in-doubt-as-risk-profile-is-revised-1.2916390
Market Cap 7.7 BLn which has room to grow I feel - Middle Eastern problems are still set to haunt us over the next twelve months and beyond as the Russian bear meddles and people flee. Then we have Brexit of course and its likely effect on Ireland - it might just mean that Ireland has to win the Eurovision Song Contest again to get a proper stir on the tourist trade, which together with winning the Six Nations will push the old flag right up the pole. Have been issued with my new MOT by the Cardiologist on Monday who told me he doesn't know what I am doing but that I should keep doing it - which I will GOLFING - will be out tomorrow in my Santa hat and will take a drop of the spirit afterwards. Strictly to guard against a chill of course and to stop my heart from shrinking. Hope all our readers have a peaceful Christmas as ours will be - just the two of us this year, our eldest born in Sligo on St Stephens Day did not want to risk the ferry with the grandsons in case it turned nasty. She wants their first experience of travelling on a ferry to be smooth, our youngest will be with the prospective groom in her new house this year. I'm expected to travel up later to do some jobs for her so that the house is in shape for when the knot is tied in June. X4 - Enjoy the Christmas you thought that you might have missed and here's to many happy returns for the future, our Mass at midnight is @ 9.00pm and I will remember you when I receive. To the rest of you HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS and the best of luck for the New Year. Torquay

I bought my second tranche @.06 but my first purchase was more expensive - my average is .17c so in theory I'm up but can't cash them in because I would miss the craic on here. When things start to fly, it really is great fun on here. Don't even like going away because there is ALMOST always something worth reading - having an early night tonight because I have to report at 8.30 for my Cardiac Echo and consultant meeting afterwards to see how much longer I can keep smashing the golf ball down the links. Good luck all
Well, little too much hostility, but I suppose, I am used to dealing with US traders who are more friendly. Thank you for your reply, but I was not trying to **** off anyone, As I have been stuck with stocks which went belly up....... And I was not trying to gloat. .....
Just to get my beatings right! R u guys who has had boi shares when it was in 0.30-40 cent. I do apologise as I m only doing day trading of sort with it. Last time i had boi shares bought them in around 0.10 and sold em in around 0.25.
Hi Radar, Thank you for kind comment. Hope you held on to a few BOI for better days.
Hello son, Good to see you back here again and well and congrats for fighting keep it up. Do the things that you want / wanted to do in the way that you wanted. I have kinda retired from here and only come back for special occasions, I got tired of expressing my opinion on top of opinion on top of opinion and so on and so on .......................................... Not to say that I surely had some good banter and laughs with you Mike Kelly Moose banktech and doggy and many more together with writing poetry in darkest days of 2008 to 2012. I do wish you the very best for the future.
