Torquay, I identify with your penultimate para ‘in need of a holiday when it is all over ....’. Three grandchildren and their mom are visiting for Christmas. Six months ago I didn’t have Christmas in my future. And today I found have put on 4 lbs. Thanksfor the candles, Mate. Good to see the diector’spurchase of shares. Good sign.
You brought tears to my eyes, Torquay. Apologies for laying low. I’m in session 7 of immunotherapy and await the verdict of my last ct scan when my oncologist visits this week. I really need that candle - the therapy produces a toxic buildup that I find hard to handle. We put a lot of cash into getting to Ireland last month. Knock was a bridge too far so we stayed at the Westbury in Dublin for a week and got all the desired sacraments and sacramentals at St Theresa’s on Clarendon St., next door to the hotel, which was as far as I could shuffle!! Best wishes with your taking over your new abode and thank you for sharing.
Sterling weakness hurts expectations big time both in the valuation of boi’s uk assets and the repatriation of £ denominated dividends/profits. By convention Her Majesty could inquire just who commands the leadership of the Lower House. That could help sort the Brexit issue which is the principal drag on boi at present.
Weather sounds like Game of Thrones! Finished the platinum chemo; after 6 months of it my chemo nurse gleefully announced I had lost an inch + in height!! But Im alive. With regret so is the lung tumor but 50% reduced. Im going on to something called immunotherapy a.s.a.p. And have permission to spend a week in Dublin in August.. I love sitting in the coffee shop window of M&S on Grafton Street whilst my better half browses Pamela Scott.
Thanks JMc and Susan and a couple others for pragmatic insight, avoidance of hype. If the share struggles to 8 on Monday or thereafter, Im comfortable with taking 50% off the table. Im truly confounded with the shenanigans right thru the recession and recently! GLA.
Ireland moved so fast to internet banking, left a less savvy rural generation in the dust. The extreme option (internet banks without buildings) is even worse. It is mid winter, gray mornings, foggy evenings - and we all feel less cheerful, But... over all our bank is moving in the right direction to cater to the highly educated young workforce. GLA!
Ha ha Torquay, your dry humor is something else. When you take your profits invest in an Apple ‘suite’; iPhone and iPad and perhaps the MacBook too. You get. ‘Free’ video calls to anyone with an iPhone, in wifi. It’s like WhattsApp - which I also have loaded. Unfortunately WhatsApp doesn’t load on a tablet device. I pay a few $ yearly to Apple to keep my thousands of photos and Word files (yes, Word works great on the Mac) ‘in the Cloud’. My wife stayed with her Huewai (or something) for local calls but we have our own iPads. You might as well hold on to your dinasaur till you sell - when do you think we’ll be able to do that?? I’d prefer 10 than 9!
I never was much good at weights and measures and usually need a calculator to figure differences kilos/miles. Have to say tho, for you n me repatriating funds from Euroland to $$, isnt it marvellous to get the current 20% premium, euro over $. And its getting better! I wish posters would have some respect for my old friend Radar.
I agree re manipulation. Disgusting, not representative of inherent sp risk factors. On an adjusted basis the sp is about 15 euro-cents below that which W Ross sold. So theres a loooooong way to go before the sp represents the real investment opportunity the bank offers.
