Good bounce under way here! Let's see how much steam it has!
Don't shout so loud, but this appears to be on the up!
I have been buying this this year hopefully a recovery is imminent.
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't... but by now the majority of the negativity has to be priced in? You would think... Either way there reaches a point where this becomes a value proposition. And given that this is a quiet board (often a good sign) I'm buying more.

why is nobody interested here
Do people think China has finished with its reforms?
If so then this is a very attractive entry point.
1.8% yield
4% discount to NAV
Average excess to NAV was 8.5% over the past 12 months

can retail shareholders participate here- and is it a good move
If you go to the Baillie Gifford website they publish their fund and trust prices with premium and NAV details daily in arrears. Also a lot of other good info on their site
From what I can see its currently trading at circa 10% premium to NAV. Given the regulatory crack down in China tech i feel this is over priced atm IMHO
what is the premium/discount now please and do you know any site fo the most accurate
Beginning to look a better buy now. But need another 4% drop to get a discount.
Might buy a bit soon.

Why is this stock so volatile?
Last post: DorsetLSE, 29 Mar 2021 10:51
Any views on why the Archegos sell off of Chinese stocks hasn't caused a bigger drop in this stock this morning?
Or should I say now ,just added . Great mid to long term CHINA growth stock.
In my view now is a reasonable time to buy. Nav is ok after going to far up. Good fund to hold for a year or two.

Been reading Nikki Asia, very good read if you are invested here.
Still at a premium so I will wait for a better drop.
On reflection I have sold (small profit) as the nav is to high for my liking .will now hope for a drop to buy back . Still have my SMT which is set in concrete.

Having said that the premium is high.
If you put this up against smt from jan 4 it’s about 70 p behind also a lot lower shares in issue so maybe it’s got a lot of legs especially if they keep increasing the issue and increasing the % of what they hold. Just guessing.
Will be a crazy premium today ! It just keeps going up tho
I am not sure why it goes up. I will wait until next week.Vey high premium compare to NAV

Why is it up today? All china indices are closed for the NY till next Thurs?
Bought some early to hold. Now I can wait for a drop to buy more. :-)
Might slump a bit after chinese new year? Could open up a good buy price. Depends if it breaks above the current resistance. Either way. Long term you are sorted here.
Well got that wrong might have to buy????....

This is beginning to look interesting as with the new issues recently institutional investors are buying at the premium.
Last post: Seaking1, 21 Jan 2021 13:59
Still a low amount of shares in issue and a good div.
Good the navy’s moving in the right direction.

Thanks speculate2x, most helpful and point taken re ticker price in the article. I'll be topping up as well if drops a little bit more and BG certainly a good stable. Been with them for a good number of years with their other usual suspects Monks, Scot Mort and EWI and certainly no complaints.
I also saw this article. The ticker price on the article seems off as now under £5. I bought in below £5 but realised trading at a premium but i took that to be strong manager sentiment. May drop down a little further but will top up more if that happens. BG is a good stable but make sure that you are diversified.
Does anybody have any thoughts on this article in the Telegraph? Seems strange stating rather strongly quote:- "A general meeting has been called for Nov 26, when shareholders will be asked to allow the trust to issue another 20pc of stock. All else being equal, bringing the premium under control means, of course, a fall in the share price". https://www.telegraph.co.uk/investing/funds/questor-trust-has-lots-promise-19pc-premium-borrowed-time-sell/

Hard to believe this is now running at a 20% premium to the NAV.
Trimmed a bit around £5 seems a bit early, lol. Won’t add any until get a full list of holdings to understand better the Unlisted companies and overall composition.

Good to see the SP holding up well with all the shares being released.
Ant Financial IPO is 850x Oversubscribed by local Chinese investors. Just crazy

Just started a position in this IT in my ISA. Kept an eye on it when the news was announced about the change from Witan Pacific and decided to invest now.
Will be steadily adding more as the portfolio details become clearer. Already hold BG Pacific Fund, so this sparked my interest, as I understand the fund will hold unlisted companies, bit like Scottish Mortgage which I hold in my SIPP.
i am the first to honour this thread- ihave already invested under the Witan ticker andwonder if this is the right time to add before the overhaul of the portfrolio and the refocus on china-anyone with some insight!
