was only holding out for 830-850, shame it bounced for me but think it will fall again soon.
: ) more to do if i see 820/825 this month, but enough for now.
.. and took more in the 860s, thanks guys.
Common sense prevailed. I suspect market shenanigans will continue in the short term re crude prices. Prob see $50 soon. I suspect this will take us lower until the New Year. Great to see the Australian LNG coming online #timely
will be interesting how £5m there affects share price compared to 5% drop in oil prices since close on friday
Expect Gas sales and new projects coming online 14/15 will ensure a good correction v. soon.....looks like 50% of recent drops overdone. Get rid of people who voted for the new CEO's package and you can add another 5% on the plus side. ......come another 6 mths and OPEC knocking 1MMB out of the supply then back to high twelves...... as for a takeover, most unlikely...too much to swallow for even the biggest ESP. When they are in panic mode 'as some are, that said you can never say never....a more likely target (amongst many now) would be Tullow.....perfect assets for some customers close to the area of Production and who need both oil and gas.....so both feet in on this one for my pens pot.
Take-over rumours were rife when this was £14 - surely a real target now? Truly global company with massive assets.
as oil pushes for sub $70
crazy low price, share totally oversold. Too good an opportunity to let pass.
a few more to do if it falls further.
Good luck. Think you've got a good one long term. I like to be greedy as usual and will wait a couple more days to see where a resistance point will lie.
I think this fall is overdone. I was in BG previously and made a nice profit, and have just bought in again. Yes, there are some issues with OPEC and the current glut of oil etc but it won't last forever. £9, in my opinion, is too low. This is a good opportunity to put a few away.
Still good news to see ratings like that though, 50%+ target. Cheers mate you too.
Agreed. Good buying opportunity. Goldman just issued a 'strong buy' rating but I do take analysts recs with a large pinch of salt. Good luck!
From what I've read I expect oil to recover a bit mid next year. Other oilies seem very risky, but this had such a strong support at £10, and I see little reason why it won't recover very well over the coming months. Still got further down to go yet, though.
Some big buys going in at this level. With various projects coming online in 2015 should be in a strong position for a recovery.
Very attractive at these levels. OPEC political games to price out US Shale I suspect. Interesting to see how long this lasts as its hurting quite a few economies.
cheers. Expecting a little bounce, is hovering 2% or so over £9 at the moment. Interesting to see BG started a lot lower than other oil shares today, but is now holding up well compared to others. This is becoming very tempting yhough
Good call on £9. Wonder if this will be bottom until a bounce back?
wow! was $75 at time of my post, still think this will go to at least £9.50 in the next few days.
It's bouncing around $72 at present.
falls to $70
British Gas owner Centrica has warned that its full year earnings will be lower than previously guided due to challenges including the cold weather in the US, warm weather in the UK and boiler inspections at its power stations. The energy giant said it now expected full year adjusted earnings per share to be in the range of 19-20p, having previous pointed investors to 21-22p.
