Yes. The weird thing about her Sooz, is that she has her own name tattooed onto her forehead, to perhaps remind herself just who she is. I wonder if she drives a car and uses modern devices?! 🙂
She knows her own version or rather she thinks she does.
From the BEM LinkedIn page
Last quarter #BEM announced it’s wholly owned subsidiary Grafintec Oy had been granted an extension of the advance reservation for Plot 1, Block 3017 in the GigaVaasa area. The plot will be used for the establishment of the #Graphite Anode Materials Plant.
#BEM has been progressing the first stage of design for the PFS for the #Graphite Anode Materials Plant, expected to be released Q3 2023 and Grafintec has begun workstreams for the EIA. Both of these projects aim to fast-track the establishment of the Plant.
The progress made in the GigaVaasa area moves Grafintec and $BEM towards the objective of becoming one of Europe’s first producers of $graphite anode materials for the #European #Battery market.
Lb, it is neither likely nor unlikely. At worst. At best, the various Swedish Government’s over time, took nine years to come to the correct legal conclusion, based on all evidence.
The last part of the article translated via Google. Maxida Märak isn’t saying negotiations, the writer of the article is. But why negotiations? The SAC doesn’t have to negotiate with anyone surely, and the ruling should be final.
Or is the interpretation of Swedish Law so difficult that the powers that be don’t have a clue how to interpret it? Lol.
Anyway, last line:
"Extremely humiliating"
In her speech, Maxida Märak addressed the forced displacement of the Sami during the first decades of the 20th century and asked rhetorically:
- Who will have to move now? If you know your history, you are well aware of what forced displacement is, and what traces it left in us. There are families who to this day cannot see each other in the eye.
When the government made the decision to say yes to the processing concession in 2022, it also added 12 unique conditions to indemnify the affected Sami villages. One of them is that reindeer herders can be financially compensated when a mine is built. Maxida Märak didn't care much for that.
- To even assume that we would be so soulless that we exchange our animals for money, it is extremely degrading. It is a stupid declaration of an entire people.
The Sami villages now want the justice of the Supreme Administrative Court to overturn the government's decision.
- We now hope for justice, said Maxida Märak.
The negotiations last for two days.
Suzy, yes. A decision at Law.
Good post Pocko. The last translated part of that article mentions “negotiations”. Lol. Really? I trust the Sami will not be able to sway this outcome.
And it's only the Government in so far as the Supreme Court is part of the Government...the Law of the Land is what's at stake.
Is that what you're hoping for, Ibjj? Then you can tell us told you so? That seems a bit apathetic to me, just to accept what you think is wet and woke instead of standing up to it and giving it a bit of a fight. And don't you think the Government is a bit less wet and woke than it used to be?
Perfect timing for the Sami as the swedish government is so weak, dysfunctional, wet and woke.
A capitulation to a UNESCO backed ethnic minority is very likely.
Thanks Pocko. I guess if the sami win we will be in court against the swedish govt to get the investment back
Not a balanced article at all, but then would you expect it to be? There's been several articles of a similar vein in the last few weeks. Heavy on emotion, but light on facts.
Let's hope the judges do their actual job, and focus on the law and legality of the decision making process.
Let's hope
Ten and a half years so far we’ve been waiting for this concession to firmly be in place. Ridiculous.
Thanks Pocko. Not exactly a balanced article.
I thought it was Kate Winslet at first.
Anyway, let's see what happens following this court review.
Thanks Pocko. Im on Maxida Maraks side, not sure why... 😅.
Desperate measures...

Joke article.
Scheduled for the 19th and 20th September. The outcome will be published on an undetermined date.
Isnt there a Sami hearing this week...does anybody know when?
I meant to say to make up for the first three quarters.
Hopefully he can help Ed finally build some value, reflected via upturn in sp. Next week will be the Sami hearing, not the result, but at least that will then be something else behind us Hasty.
Be nice to have a decent fourth quarter finish to the year, to make up for the first three months and to hopefully correct the 33% drop in sp since the dire fundraise at 2.06p.
It remains appalling, to be quite frank.
Still, on we go. Chance of change.
Thanks for the clarification Eric - I hadn't taken it in from the RNS and thought it was something new being announced on LinkedIn (like when Ed joined).
You said pubic. Lol.
Yes, I understand Sooz.
Thanks Eric...I don't do Linkedin because you have to give your email and a password and I don't see why I should join it...if the information is worth anything it will be pubic soon enough.
