What’s there to update...?!? UNESCO have no time restrictions. It’s not in their interests to reply saying no problem, mine away...genius call from Baylan as UNESCO won’t reply in an open letter so he can sit on this until elections, the next ice age...etc.
I’m not sure whether KB can write to accelerate things but I doubt it...I think he ought to start drilling KS and get JORC status on another 200 million tons...CSP spoke of 600 million tons and that genuinely was the last 70p spike...28 feb 2011...in literally the decade that’s followed, you’d have to count yourself lucky to have sold and got out in dec 2016 in the mid teens...!
10 years folks...wow....not sure that there are many shares that by my maths have lost 95% in the last decade...even my banking shares aren’t nearly as bad as that...and yet we keep the faith in BEM!!! I’ve totally lost my way with this and can only assume that it’s blind greed that keeps me here and the thought that one day someone will want to mine the ore...not even the Swedes have the appetite to take on their own political and procedural systems...what a wonderfully passive people!!! I thought it was people from this neck of the woods that came and pillaged Norfolk and Essex...!!!if they can’t dig a hole in their own backyard...I think it’s safe to say that they’ve lost any sense of progress...
...I’m not holding me breath and if this ever gets to double figures I’m out...I had set a target of 25p before the last placing...but realistically this won’t be returning value to shareholders...
...where’s Kurt...he’s secured a very good salary for the future and unless he’s on the UNESCO board, this is tied up in ever expanding committees...so I guess he’ll be travelling around talking to lots of committee people...all with agendas...!

As I say, there’s going to be no further updates on KN for a long time and I’m not sure that any of the other directions can add enough value to rock the sp...KB has secured cash flow for a couple of years...healthy salary...I’m actually not sure what he does each day...opens the mail, makes tea...meets with locals...? Well, socially distances himself from locals, it’s been nice seeing his presentations from what I guess is his dining room...!
How long has he had that beard? I thought his face mask had slipped.
Looks to me like he's been here too long, and he's getting old like the rest of us. :-)
FYI, The median tenure for UK CEO's has dropped to under 5 years, just saying.
Surely we should hear from Kurt..what is happening here FFS..
CRAZY or JOKE take your pick Sweden just want LKAB to control the lot
It's crazy we're still at this stage. Imagine how the business could have looked if the swedish politicians did their job. We deserve the concession and a huge compensation
Yes... projected to start mining in 2020 at the latest. At the date of the application, it might even have been 2018.
Wasn’t the original timeframe to be producing right now? Timing would have been perfect
We should be benefiting from this...

I agree wholeheartedly... But let’s be clear where the blame sits. It’s become politicised through no fault of the company. The date I’m working from is the 17th December... bearing in mind that was our last known contact!with the government. So it’s easily over 2-months into what should be a cut and dried decision.
Pocko agreed but were now late February two months on and nothing. Seriously Tesla can build a $5 billion car plant in 12 months. It is as ive said a joke seriously the time its taken the pandemic has been and going yet they cant make a simple decision so as ive also said its corrupt Sweden is corrupt
I'm hoping for the 25 April this year and it will be the eighth year that I've hoped it.
Verbatim: "With Kallak we've been inputting into the UNESCO review so, we made it clear in our letter to the Government in December that we don't believe that the Kallak project is a UNESCO matter, so really with the UNESCO review out of the way, we think we've jumped over the final hurdle, and we remain optimistic that we'll get the concession so we can move forward with Kallak this year"
I think most investors would interpret that sentence to mean that Beowulf Mining PLC' input into the UNESCO review is 'out of the way', as opposed to the UNESCO matter being dealt with.
There isn't a delay...they'll take as long as it takes.

recap couple minutes in so whats happened why the delay from unesco
My take on it Toppy is UNESCO is sorted as far as Kurt is concerned as we have applied to all the relevant UNESCO stuff in all the additional HIA/Environment stuff and there are no direct impacts on Laponia with minimal indirect impacts upon 1 villages reindeer herding routes that are surmountable.
As to the motion that should have been sorted in 2012; it is anyone's guess and just highlights the incompetence of successive industry ministers. IMO
Suzy so what does it all mean?
lost me whats the point?
What I know is KB said months ago Unesco was sorted ............... clearly its not
Hard to see it having a direct bearing on our application... The Swedish love never-ending reviews and generally chatting bubbles.
One can see Linda Modig's point....when she said she didn't know whether to laugh or cry. ;-)
Slow aren't they?
Thanks again Truthwhisper:
"In summary, this was extended, but what happened then (???): The
investigation period is extended. The inquiry must instead be reported
no later than 31 October 2012."

And my cut and paste from Google Translate:
Committee Directive
Additional directives to the inquiry Review of
certain issues in the Minerals Act (N 2011: 06)
Decision at a government meeting on 3 May 2012
Extended time for the assignment
On 15 September 2011, the Government decided on
committee directive on the revision of certain issues in the Minerals Act
(1991: 45) (dir. 2011: 73). To be able to map and analyze
how the system of work plans has worked, the inquiry has
intends to conduct a survey. The result of
the survey then needs to be processed and merged with the rest
of the report. Because the group that the survey is aimed at is
significantly larger than expected, external help with the survey is needed
and more time than first set aside. According to the investigation
directive, the investigation must be completed by 30 April 2012.
The investigation period is extended. The investigation must instead be reported
no later than 31 October 2012.

Sometimes a post doesn't 'arrive' and if you click on my name, there's another one relevant to the question...I see now that it rang two bells.
I though it rang a bell... and in my notebook, I see that on 5 Oct 2020 a Motion re a New Minerals Policy was put by five Social Democrat MPs...I thought it rang a bell. And they are:
Marlene Burwick
Malin Larsson
Hanna Westeren
Markus Selin
Isak From.....et al.
And those are the sort of 'Legs' we want.
