Come out, wherever you all are!! A bit of a breather here maybe? All eyes on man group tomorrow for me plus Hansard noticed the crystal amber fund have added there though never heard of them before, apparently they buy under valued shares...sounds familiar. Been adding supermarkets this week and sliced a few ladbrokes but still a big holding now they've confirmed the divvy. Hope everyone okay.
and carphone wharehouse ?..http://news.sky.com/story/1216349/dixons-in-carphone-warehouse-merger-talks
Checked with my broker today and poundland is only available to the insti's so us retail boys don't get a look in at the IPO stage.
I think that could be a good one depending on the terms etc, very popular but many don't want to admit they're over 50! LAD proposed 19th March. I assume Hansard will announce theirs on Thursday....the same day as man group...gulp!
And saga have a IPO....should be right up my street...in the autunm of my days..
A friend mentioned the poundland IPO but I don't know if my brokers are covering it yet. Not sure if they can determine the nominal value at a pound but it would make sense!! Already quite heavy in RRL,a new bloke in charge or something. Big week ahead for me on conviction stocks LAD,EMG and HSD. In those it's all about the divvy for me.
I see a IPO for poundland soon....will that mean the shares also are £1?
I am watching LAD and I cant help thinking that it has further to fall yet, I will prob miss the boat being greedy..but I dont care..other than that I was thinking about adding more emg before next Thursday..The sleeping Giant..
Yes it's proposed mid march full year and pretty much bumping along the bottom on the SP...a bit like when these were 210 and the below 2 quid posts were scaring me to death lol!!
Okay bud, glad you're okay and got some top slicing done. Can't remember half of what I did except I've tinkered around and got more yield in the main account and more shares in the spec one! Catch up soon bud.
Been working late this week but been reading your posts..been a fair week. .top sliced a few but not bby, I think that still has a bit left yet..I have to work tommorow but will catch up tommorow..
Yes I remember you mentioned the Georgia one. Sains a good choice, probably a bit overdone alongside the other supermarkets IMO. The tobacco ones are quite interesting ones to trade around the divs etc. No AA this week?
Good one! On divs,BATS and STAN imminent...are you looking at them?
Are you going to tell me?!
Yes the supermarkets have looked like good value since everyone seems to think the lidl etc stores are taking over....I've never seen a proper supermarket carpark empty when they're open which suggests otherwise.
Used to have loads but sold out after the big rise a few months back. Have a few in another account but all looks a bit messy with the buyout and all that. Can't believe I'm actually in profit on MRW for the first time ever, interesting story emerging there.
Fair enough. I didn't know pets at home were going for an IPO but will look into it now you've mentioned it. As a company I know bugger all about them but as a customer on occasions they seem to be well sited with easy parking and the fact you can take your dog in with you is a compelling reason to shop there. The one here also has a vet practise. Attached but don't know if that's owned or a sublet/concession.
Yes I was on about barcs but also to a degree these! Just had a quick look at MGNS, might need to be a quid cheaper for me,not sure. SSE I'm in a dilemma with a 14 in front and there's meatier yields out there but at the same time whichever party wins the election surely they won't go through with the threats, any thoughts?
They had a good run today and don't blame you as the div not too exciting yet. I've got a handful of longtermers but I'll inevitably sell if they get nearer 3 quid....sounds familiar eh!
Had them and cape around the same time but long gone now bud. Enjoy your late supper and catch up soon. Night to you and AA and absent mates too.
Lost a few quid on ESSR previously so nice to get a bit back mate,IPO at 3 or 4 quid so must be a few bruised egos on that one. My only true discipline is to hold shares if they are yielding comfortably over 5% net so if they drop below they are at risk of being replaced hence the carillion reduction as frankly they look a bit toppy. I reduced SSE at pretty much averaged down break so now a smaller holding, too much political interference for my liking despite the high yield..they'll go over 15 quid now I expect!
They're ex on Wednesday for a few pennies I think, have a few tucked away between 250-270 but haven't added. You've done well on HICL. My BBOX ones creeping up very slowly and reckon there's 6p in divs this year, might be worth a look. Sold last weeks essar for a maiden profit and dare I admit leapt back into shaft sinkers in a small way this morning, not expecting any yield there for a while though!! Sold off some carillion and doubled up on LAD and MRW today.
Wish I'd bought all mine at that! Yes we seem to be inching upwards. Highest I ever saw them was the pre-RI spike from memory around 360. Tobacco and hsba/stan had a good day I see. Any trades for you?
Finals 6 th march and still we slowly move upwards.
Fair enough mate,I'll have a browse!! Hopefully not yikes tomorrow!!
