Can someone put this Co. out of misery
Does anyone know why this SP keeps peaking (reasonably dramatically in the morning) and then falls back to pretty where it started off from at the beginning of the day.. This scenario has repeated itself for the last week or so
It takes a ‘special’ kind of management for an armaments firm to do so poorly during these times which include a major European war (unfortunately). I bet they think they are doing a grand job and remunerating themselves accordingly. And yes I’ve been here for 5 or so years so I know that history. But REALLY!!!!
Ancora Alternatives LLC obviously see money to be made in Avon....
It’s in Stockomendation and they have just launched a neat new fund manager short positions took also :)

So seller gone and no bad news and bounce back again for now.
I would agree. I can only think they've made a bit since the lows of £7.30 ish and decided to take the profit and re-invest in another stock that'll grow in value quicker
To me it seems an odd point to sell out that many shares, the last update was positive and with a new leadership next year you would think the price would be heading up in the medium term.
It's a placing from an institutional seller: JPMorgan placed 1.8m shares for an undisclosed institutional seller at between 1,061p and 1,100p.
I checked on stockomendation.com and there are no new short positions opened or new broker recs/tips posted. V odd as I thought things going well for Avon..!
if so won't we all be kicking ourselves.
Could be simply a distressed seller caught up with the FTX Crypto fiasco and nothing company specific as I would have expected new release at 9am if there had been an issue.
Under 10 now surely must be more than a broker report ? Any ideas
Volume traded is £600k, it opened down as has fallen further. Smells like a potential short report or broker downgrade to me.
Just got a H/L quote of 1038 for £1500.
It's. is easy to drop by 15% with spread over 8% without a single trade. These are becoming norm in the six and smallcap. Regulatory oversight is nil.
Not sure the spread is huge as well.
Why the sudden sp drop?

evanescent -- maybe coincidence, but I cannot see the present board driving this forward in any meaningful way, I am just holding on now and waiting for a buyer, only chance to cover losses now.
Entire board a waste of time, allowed the sale of the "cash cow" Dairy Business" that had supported the NBC development for years, then blew the proceeds in cash on the unproven armour business with no proof that it would provide protection, and worse no performance related provisions, where the hell were the other board members, probably just content to pick up their fees and "not rock the boat"-
Perhaps one day the americans will wake up to the fact that a uk company has "stolen" their NBC protection business!!! - I look for a take over at around £20 - £25 just wish I could do the deal for this lame board.
Whiplash in every direction no doubt:). Dividend held which is nice. Recovery underway, hopefully upgrades over the next weeks
Results look like a mixed bag to me. Lots of fine words about the future but frankly the last year has been another poor one imv. We shall see what the market thinks shortly.
Results tomorrow, be interesting, I can't call it tbh. There's an upside to the SP (IMO), but whether that's now or in the medium term, that's the $64,000 question. Thoughts?
Group CFO Ultra Electronics - Takeover by Cobham approved as of July 2022
Group CFO Castrol - Takeover by Leadec 2021
Group CFO GKN plc - Takeover by Melrose
Director of Legal, Lead M&A at AkzoNobel - specific role was mergers and acquisitions....
Anyone else seeing the pattern here? - Jos Sclater could very well be on board to wine and dine any potential suitor interested in buying out Avon
All IMHO, DYOR not a recommendation, I for one am holding and adding more if and when the opportunity arises.
What they won't tell you in new CEO could well NOT write down value of company for a clean slate to start with.... I did say COULD NOT though its a gamble
This sentence and the sentence from grippa are interchangeable since we actually do not know what he will do.....unless of course you have insider information....which of course is illegal (not to mention naughty)
Truth is we need to wait and see....
