Also just spotted that their head also bought 10000 shares on Friday.....
These guys are not doing this with the expectation of losing money....
When the CFO buys 10000 shares today it shows a certain amount of confidence......if anyone knows he knows
The turning point was the decision to ditch its profitable UK businesses and buy into the cut throat USA and be taken for a ride. IMV longer term this needs to be sold to an american company to realise any value.
Imo this is the turning point and with the leadership we will start seeing continuous improvement and greater disciplines starting to be embedded through the company.
I have held shares for many years and I will be topping up today with a long term view. Definitely more orders to be won over the coming months/years and could be getting set-up for someone to buy the company in months/years to come.
Likely to fall today imv, uninspiring results smothered in adjustments and optimsism.
The number of trades is incredibly low...not much buying pressure but little selling pressure either
@evanescent, you may well be right, "can see this sitting ~11.00 by then". Seems to be a hint of sustained up movement, just trying to get north of £10.00 at the moment
End of May, I believe....can see this sitting ~1100 by then
Last month or so, there's been a steady climb in the share price (on average). Looks positive. Any particular reason(s) to anyone's knowledge? Internal cost cutting? strong order book??
Trading update must be due shortly. Does anyone have an idea of the date?
New boss taken over yet?....have taken my eyes off this somewhat...
The share price seems to be stuck in a rut until we start getting some positive newsflow. I would've hoped for more contract awards considering everything that is going on in the world unless they are already at maximum capacity for this year?
Looking more attractive every day.
This is being slowly pushed down will be adding some if it gets to my price target.
..does anyone know - starts off with a large peak in the morning, irrespective of buys and sells the day before, then plateaus and looses a little, 10p or 1% typically, then close.
There was a bit of good news earlier in the week, another helmet order ~ $6.7m, but it didn't make much of an impact.
I suspect we'll have to wait to see Jos Sclater strategy and plans (predict around Easter) before we see any real sustained movement in this SP. Views anyone??
holo...
I must have missed the memo that you were the spokesperson for "the city"....
I stated around the time that the new CEO was announced that I thought he was being brought in to handle a potential takeover (he has form). Nothing since has changed my mind....I believe that the price is being well manipulated to make it easier for certain groups to build the required holding.... All IMHO. DYOR
The past CEO and much of the board just did not understand the business, thus problem after problem last 3 years.
They sold the Milking machine business, a real cash cow, not appreciating that it was that business that provided the cash for the Protective developments, much as it had been doing for the last 10 years, also kept the city reasonably content as cash was not a problem.
Now the Protection business is truly stand alone, with much development still ahead and production always some time ahead also. meaning city is concerned about where is the cash coming from to continue with all the developments constantly required by the DOD and MOD .
The board were also stupid enough to buy for cash upfront, (using proceeds from the dairy business sale) the armour business, and not a single director had the nous to put in place some performance covenants.
So we have a new CEO, but the same old board, so my expectations for the future rest purely on the real possibility of a US take over! History tells me this present Board will fail again, and it may well be that the dividend may cease due to lack of cash, another price crash!!
I know this business well, been following Avon for many many years, and can only see a future under new owner ship.
There it goes.
I was expecting a fall I believe it goes exdividend today.
Back drawer for me.
RNS should lift sp today imv.
yes, they know how to manipulate to their advantage.
think it was the mms scooping up any stop losses set - usually bodes well for the SP.
has a quote for 938p to buy but by the time I sold another holding it was back to 983, darn.
RSI back below 30 and imo I think its a good time to accumulate with better performance weighed to H2 this year.
