That is the most ridiculous question I've read on this BB. And that's saying something. If you have to ask that you don't deserve to be part of this journey!
Fair enough bbttablet
But it could of been 180?
dOGGY 100.
If you are referring to the Fincapp interview that was highlighted here recently, the general consensus was that it was about 3 weeks old (by a time reference he made in it). In the middle of May the share price was around 135p.
When the Finncapp interview was recorded Avactas share price was probably around the £2 mark
So sir al said a significant return for shareholders when it was roughly £2!!!
RichKen cheers
and Deffo we are on the same page with testing
there are some cracking well researched clever men on hear, I got so many tabs open ready to read or read again
I am not going to try sound clever discussing the technicals we all know what they are if we have made the effort to research
the stand out value on top of the obvious is the Ceo, if he doesn't give you confidence nothing will
the game is being plaid too absolute perfection, we are just starting to build towards a massive sustained crescendo imop
that hardest thing for me at present is trying to ascertain the full value hear, its as you know impossible
the numbers that come to my mind seem ridiculous so I am going to sit on them
in the short term if we can nail this testing the attention it will draw to the rest of the company could be astounding
and personaly the possible cancer trials when they come could and should blast Avacta into the stratosphere
imop dyor
I wonder how many investors were squeezed out when the price fell sharply
without explanation . Once we knew we could buy again having lost but not
missed the train.
Good points SiriusB......test is developed, funds needed to scale up, big investor from US wanted in, I bet they could of raised all the funds from institutions but let retail investors participate as well which is not often the case. When news on approval arrives everyone will be happy.
@SiriusB - excellent post, tick added!
Great post I'm sold! 50 quid a share cop Monday woop woop
Marvellous post, treat yourself to a recommendation
Timster, you are confident the LFT is going to be a huge success yet you don’t want to believe it has already been developed. Not sure I follow your thinking to be honest. Who would invest millions in a fundraising if the test didn’t exist and was proven (early results) let along a strategic US institution. You would have thought the company would have had to show them more than just a fancy animation on a slide.
AS has played this very well with the fundraising. Sure it was unfortunate to have leaked and the sp movements were unsettling. The bottom line is it takes a lot of cash to rapidly expand a business. They now have an extra £10m to do this very seriously, scaling up Affimer production to meet the huge demand and also the team to lead it.
ajoke’s posts also make no sense as saying the test will generate the cash needed to scale up the business is chicken and egg. To do this quickly and do it well raising the extra cash was the right thing to do. Imagine selling tests and then realising you can’t scale up quick enough to meet demand on several fronts as you wait for the cash to trickle in at the start. That would be a disaster. Could they have secured a £10m loan/credit line to do this? I don’t know. If the LFT test is going to be as big as we think it is then getting on the front foot now is a sure fire way to capture the majority market share and maximise shareholder return in the long term.
As Chendo has already said, it would have been much worse if the they had released multiple RNSs on the every test development bit by bit, ramping up the sp to them complete the fundraise and watch it crash back down. Could they have raised at a higher price with the investors encouraging them to? Not sure. This way round the test is developed, the cash needed to scale up Affimer production secured, cancer therapeutic programs funded to run in parallel and not be delayed by the Covid-19 test work and then bang we have a high performance test submitted for approval ready to sell to a mass market for a very very high margin.
Sit back and enjoy the ride!

Sparticus12, great Avatar name by the way! I think by early July you be able to test yourself every day with an Avacta LFT Point of care test and be confident you are safe in health and at the same time safe in wealth!
Cheers, RK
Moniman, we are in the light my friend. Research is the key.
How is your maths going on the numbers I presented just on the Cytiva LFA Antigen test?
Then you could look at the potential for the BAMS testing...
Then you could look at the potential income from one of the smartest and most needed targeted cancer treatment breakthroughs ever! By Q1 2021 we will have some news hear and the company is very confident it will be successful as is all the research.
What about the stemcell research with our South Korean partnership and the opportunities to find lasting treatments for Crohn's disease, MS and others.
I think you might find that Avacta is a company you could consider building a position in. They have 17 partnerships currently and they are looking to build more. They now have £48 million in the bank to develop these projects to the next level.
The question is why invest here? Because the upside potential is frankly unbelievably good. This is an AIM company where all its opportunities to deliver are coming in by the boatload! If you stay around for long enough we will either be a FTSE100 company or bought by one and a very strong valuation.
Hope that answers yours and many others questions!
Have a great weekend all!
Cheers, RK
I often get down with the , stuffy air in here. Thankyou RK for drawing back the curtains and opening the windows!
Hi moniman,
Interesting that you post the ORPH link. I am an investor there with a very low average hence I seldom post there but I did post recently that I felt they’d missed a trick jumping on the antibody test bandwagon. They should have offered antigen tests or both to clients ....
Anyways one thought that has come to mind is that Open Orhan have some of the best lab services and isolation units for in vivo studies in the world. They are also gearing up for human challenge studies for Covid vaccine and atm and have 20 top Pharma’s looking at them. They have the ‘lab space’ and knowledge.
So a couple of off the wall predictions as I seem to be doing well with them lately....
1. From AVCT RNS use of £35m includes funding for.......
“Obtain first-in-human data for the Affimer® platform.“
I reckon given timescales q4 20 to q1 21 they may outsource some of that work. Open Orphan’s London labs seems an obvious candidate. They are ready to go and will save a fortune on infrastructure and staff time.
2. Once the test is out I reckon we will really see some serious electioneering and Trump will aim for 100% population testing in USA. Yes aim for 100%, he shows he thinks big. I did say a long time back that Trump would jump on testing once he clicked it was a league table that America could come top of! It shows how hard they are trying and deflects the other stuff.
There 2 predictions both with v positive SP drivers. ATB

Was just going to say, why shouldn't we shoot the orph messenger!
Moniman, you are so devious.
Trying to act innocent when 143 of your last posts out of 196 are on the Open Orhan site.
Trying to advertise but shot down in flames.
Toodle pip
RichKen infact I think its only 1 million test a year, ill be dead by the time they get to test me
Don't shoot the messenger...I never made any comments but I'll keep you in the dark next time....
What about BAMS? Another type of test using mass spectrometers installed in every hopsital around the world. The new test is going to be faster than PCR, as accurate and lower cost!
So two markets on virus testing are opened up. One for the hospital lab and one for people and businesses around the planet!
The relevant question in our daily lives is not if you have had the virus, it is if you actually have it! Safe or not safe. This is the question!
Cheers, RK
moniman, that is only a million test per month!
With the Avacta Point of Care, Antigen test you could test the world population if there were enough tests made and in everyone's hand in less than 10 minutes.
Avacta have already said they expect to sell hundreds of millions of test per month!
I guess that gives some scale!
I expect Avacta to be making a least £1 profit per test. Do the maths!
Where is the market? Everywhere and the test is able to be administered by all of us with the results in minutes. That is a USP! A unique selling point. But this is just one part of the Avacta portfolio!
Makes you think...
Cheers, RK
I concur, Timster
And as JS has intimated, Avacta is not Antibodies test
Once the avacta test is approved every other test will become irrelevant and obsolete I believe it's as simple as that..
