Thanks Spike. Yes LSTM must have been looking at the performance of the prototypes sent by Cytiva and this should at the very least reduced the amount of time needed for clinical validation.
GAZA - It may well be the case that LSTM completed their clinical validation of the prototypes some time ago. Hands are now tied until tech transfer is complete and/or tooling is supplied and installed. Fingers crossed that the initial batches, when they eventually arrive, just go through an Equivalence protocol rather than clinical validation needing to be run again.
GAZALA69 good strategy put your fingers in your ears and sing happy songs lol
Gaza.....TEST WHAT? The product has not been made....yet. Prototypes don't count
The second wave is here and it’s going to be really damaging for the Government.
People will expect the same measures that took place in W1 such as furlough and to be honest I don’t think it will happen.
Avacta have so many tools in their chest and will be the saviour of society as we once knew it.
Before you give me my bumps.
I've been thinking about this for a week or two now.
Why haven't CONDOR and LSTM been working on the validation 24 / 7 with teams / shifts in place due to the urgency and importance of our test?
The same goes for the manufacturing side of things.
Maybe they have but I doubt it.
It’s got now to be a priority given to testing otherwise we are not going to know the difference between the common cold, influenza and Covid , forcing millions into isolation. Boris and Matt need to get their finger out to avert a disaster in the next couple of months .
Agree AfamaMan.
I believe you hit the nail on the head that there is a managed message.
Another indicator of that is when people refer to trials of hundreds of tests.
With the way the R rate is heading clinical valuation should be fairly rapid as there will be no shortage of people seeking a test.
Boris does bumble. But he might be massaging the message as he goes - that they are actually on the brink but that he wants to underpromise and overdeliver so that he comes out smelling good. Personally I think they will be out in the market around end of october. It was only just under 2 weeks ago we were told tech transfer was not complete and that clinical validation would start after it was. Clinical validation will take time.
All we need is him to say it’s a South Korean Oven Ready 50 minute test that you pop in the toaster whilst eating your corn flakes in the shower.

Never going to happen but the dark side does sound intriguing. If twice is officially a habit then I think I may need to make some confessions but not on here, couldn't take the lambasting i would surely receive, probably with you leading the throng waving a big "I love Avacta" flag whilst astride your white charger!! Go Avacta!!
Bojo is an idiot. Nothing to see here, move along now.
Only Bojo could say "on the brink - long way off - some way off" practically in the same sentance and no one really bats an eyelid. His typical clear as mud statment we have all come acustom to. Thinking about it I agree that it makes sence to think his "on the brink" was him thinking / talking of the test being ready to produce. He then started thinking / talking about the bigger picture of actually having them ready in the numbers to match his 10 million targets, hence the pull back to "long way off , er er er some way off" part.
You’re making a habit of it. Don’t be afraid, embrace it. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. Turn to the dark side - start recommending all my posts.
Again, PL75. Hate to agree with you but the price IS INDEED holding up and primed ready for the next seriously big push. Just take a look at a chart for 3 or even 6 months, consistently higher lows building for take off! 1 month and 1 week charts not so bad either. Its coming..
It's just a matter of getting the double barrelled version of the spit stick ready, C19 and influenza side by side...running low on glue to hold them together. We all know the technical spec is going to be fantastic. When this one blows - it's gonna be volcanic..
PL great summary of Boris - and something we agree on! He is completely incoherent most of the time. And JD has made a great point - our goal as shareholders is for the SP to rocket... however Boris’s goal is to achieve his target of 10m pd testing. The clinical validations will trigger a major rerate for us but Boris isn’t going to get a rerate until the tests are rolling off the conveyor belts and being pushed through letterboxes. There will be a period between clinical validation and all the right rubber stamps and distribution and usage. Could even be over a period of weeks and months. That is why production capacity is so critical as per the RNS. If Boris says we have it and it isn’t on doorsteps with 1-2 weeks he is toast. If he says we are on the brink but it is some way off - I take it to mean it is a huge part of Moonshot and he is buying time to stop himself getting burnt over delays. He wouldn’t mention it if the science wasn’t good and it wasn’t going to be a part of moonshot.
But Al needs to be honest with investors.
In two minds on this yes we want more information but what if it highlights the obvious delays in black and white what will it do to the share price.
Too many green boxes lol
Come back RK bring this bb back some normality.
Thanks Wilson. I think I'd prefer SAGA over BOO AND CINE, certainly for 2-3 bags from current level
Been holding avct for 6 months now.. Too long to give up so close to news... But Al needs to be honest with investors.
Just to confirm, we’re ignoring that he also said ‘that’s what we’re working for, the science is almost there’. He basically said there’s one way out of this and it’s an LFT antigen test. Know many of those in development?
As stated in the manufacturing RNS:
Manufacturing capacity is therefore the key challenge that has to be met in achieving widespread roll-out of Avacta's saliva-based rapid antigen test. We therefore continue to actively seek additional manufacturing partners globally to be able to provide the volume of tests that will be required in the UK and elsewhere. I look forward to updating the market on progress in that regard, and will keep the market informed on the key next steps of clinical validation and regulatory approval."
Not clinical validation the problem , but manufacturing scale up...
Relax it's all in hand
Perhaps BoJo is stage managing the timelines to influence the US election. He may want Trump out so doesn’t want the test available before November. Alternatively, he may be being deliberately pessimistic in public only to pull the rabbit out of the hat for Trump just in time, be his best mate again and strike up a stonking US - UK trade deal ??? Or my imagination is running wild tonight !!
Wiggly, have a look at CINE and BOO. If I were out of AVCT those two shares appeal to me. But DYOR, of course.
