What money are we we still waiting for? We sold so many business I have lost track!
been buying aviva again on dips 20th sept avg @389.95 and this morning @389.20......its a LTH for me .....all in a isa ..with an eye on dividends..over to you amanda gla
Share price increased when the deal was announced, it is not usual for the share price to rise when the money lands in the bank....as there was no doubt that it would!
Also a factor to consider is that AV have a lot of cash in the bank at the moment, which again will be factored into the share price.
What I think we will see is new investors seeing the recent rises, the share buy back and large cash reserves information and start to put their money here, which will grow the price.
AV are doing a very good job of managing the buyback without massively increasing the SP, the cheaper they can buy them, the more they can get and ultimately the fewer shares are in issue, so when the price does rise it would rise quicker due to fewer shares in circulation.
Let me get this right. In last 24 hours our cash pile has gone up by 3 billion bucks but the SP has shed 3%.
Seems I am missing someyhing somewhere. Could it be that Our Amanda's policy of concentrating almost entirely on the UK in its present shaky state ain't going down too well?
Meant money from the french sale is in bank
I am happy there buying back the shares at under £4 then paying £4.50 or £5. They are getting more sharea for their £750 mill.. i think we will break £4.30 to £4.50 on the q3 results when we will probably given more info on the next part of the cash return eg special divi and another buy back now that the money from the cash sale is in the bank. No point the share price being £5 now we would not be getting good value for the buy back cash.
Seem to remember a previous Aviva share buy back around the £5.00 mark. That worked well. Yeah, Aviva are managing to buy back shares whilst dropping the sp. if there is a hint of a future share buy back I’m out. Nothing surprises me with this share. Hints of honey but instead ends up being dog poo !
Sadly, broker estimates are not usually right. Best avoided. In this case, Aviva does look like a good buy if you can wait for the next dividend cycle. Increasingly FTSE stocks only rise before dividend and then plummet shortly after. Still - an easy strategy for making money...
It's working very well, they are managing to buy back the shares without driving the price up. Exactly what you should want
Maths might be off but sums look like .75p in per share increase due to 2.8 billion input on nav
Totally mystified by the current share price, but certainly does seem like a buying opportunity. I suspect it will be a very different picture by next spring.....
companies could report getting over £ 2 billion in cash and see their share price fall....
Why do Aviva buy back shares in such small quantity's and large batches. Is it to protect the share price
All in a days work
analysts offering 12 month price targets for Aviva plc in the last 3 months. The average price target is 486.00p with a high forecast of 511.00p and a low forecast of 450.00p. The average price target represents a 21.30% change from the last price of 400.67p.
They can repurchase every other share out there as far as I am concerned. I will then own 100% of the business, thank you very much.
I know some may thin it's to high but I for one am very optimistic and see great things for Aviva
I think we are in for quite a rise however £4.30 needs to be broken for continuation I'd expect £4.15 to be the next stop with an upward trend to £4.30
If Porsche were an egg he'd hit himself with a hammer to see if he was awake lol.
I didn't think Amazon and Aviva were both in the same industry!
Thanks one again for your insightful update Porsche.
My holding in AV. is up 30% this year, but still only have the original cash investment in it.
Please try to understand - there are different ways of making money. Why not look into it rather than making yourself look silly by repeating the same old trash.
But will be driving up earnings per share.
It’s working well and driving the sp up, not!
Hes been told before, but he ain't too bright.
I am willing to be corrected, but I don’t think Andy Briggs was ever Chief Exec at AV. He was boss at Friends Prov/Resolution. He was passed over for the top job when Mr Wilson was forced out. He landed Chief Execs job at Phoenix Group.
