And what does it take you to conceed defeat? Not that im interested with a fair sized shareholding here! But after 15 years here nothing really surprises me about this share.
That’s sub 4.4 and still in a downtrend which, if it continues, is going to 4.2 in the short-term or even 3.9 if that’s a proper H&S pattern emerging!
Soft China data and possible stockpiling not helping.
MrDC Copper's price closed the week at @4.4950 only half a penny away from 4.50 hardly worthy of a big fanfare, is it? even Jesus filled his boots so come on who is counting the half pennies?
Coppers $4.48 svend you still saving your pennies!
Absolutely. We're exploring alternative options to mitigate the impact of copper prices. Fingers crossed!
NB. Copper price Is still holding its head above 4.5 and up 1.5% today

An interesting article about Spain's electricity grid and renewables.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/czkkgnp1d2xo
I also recently checked on OMIE and its good to see that the electricity prices are coming down further.

So Jesus sold his entire holding of 65,000 shares on 21 May for £316k, then bought 92,500 yesterday for £370k. That's a 42% increase in his holding for a 17% increase in cash. Sold at the top and bought back at the bottom of the recent run which has been tracking copper. Nicely done!
Now, is that a bounce in the SP I see or is this retrace going to continue down to 380/350p? It was a decent trade regardless and he is up for re-election at the AGM so buying back in a good thing. Putting new money in as well shows confidence, but is Jesus a savant or did he jump back in too early? Time, as always, the arbiter...
I believe Harry also said that 15 years ago and IF the focus had been on developing the rio tinto area we would have been there now. Because the main growth area right now is the expansion in that area. Alberto is a great leader but some obvious mistakes have been made along the way. STILL 13.5p old money is unacceptable
I’m 130% up with Atalaya as a long term holder, but I’m holding firm. In the most recent investor meet Q&A he said they be a £1b company some day, so plenty more to go. We’re also at the start of a multi year copper bull run due to a structure shortage of supply, according to virtually every recourses analyst.
Defo, very encouraging, £370k Director buy.
Nice Director buy there.

I came across an interesting article about the supply of copper needed to reach net zero.
https://carboncredits.com/the-world-needs-6-new-large-copper-mines-a-year-to-reach-net-zero-energy-transition/
What are your thoughts on this?

It seems the market not happy with Alberto organic farm plans.
Plans to turn ex-mine 915-20 years) into rolling green fields with goats and cows ... just not getting investor community exciting.

Need to complete Re-domicile to Spain first (estimated around October/November) so may be considered for the 250 in December if it meets the criteria at that time.
Forgive my ignorance - I'm sure I read somewheere that Atalaya was gearing up to join the FTSE 250... Is this still on the cards? Any proposed timescales?

With Ai massive demand for giant data centres.
Spain is investing.
ATYM actually has what it takes: land, experience building warehouse structures, clean green energy (solar).
Ticks all the boxes.
Its a side hustle that ATM should look into (in j/v with a data centre operator).
Its perfect post mining use of land.

With Copper potentially becoming more scarce with its demand increasing, there is an argument that like the Chinese copper could be stockpiled. It is easy to store / warehouse. This is a business ATYM should look into.

Atalaya will be rearing the finest hams in Andalucia in 15 years .
Plans for a mega green farm are in the workings.
Should we be organic?

The redom wont happen until oct/nov and what else have they actually delivered on please?
The share price of ATYM has risen 22% year to date while the copper price has moved 23% in that time. This means that there has been no premium for the move to the main market nor for any other developments, real, partly achieved or anticipated.

Interesting bounce off 400. That tagged the long-term downtrend perfectly and then recoiled in horror.
Wow -the price hit 490 on Monday and now could hit 410

Trafigura are not interested in a buyout.
During the Investor Meet yesterday, Alberto said that there had been an approach(es) to Trafigura to buy their holding from a third party entities.
What makes you say Trafigura are interested in a buyout?

In the past he has covered that liability himself
Confirmed from the RNS: "The Company was informed by Mr. Lavandeira that proceeds from the Share Sale will be principally used to settle personal income tax liabilities that will result from the exercise of the Option Shares."
Standard procedure.
Alberto (CEO) sold 150,000 from 600,000 options exercised.
This is probably to cover tax / fund holdings.
Alberto seems to still have a long term view (his wife may not)

Obviously they want the right price, thats all.
They have already sold MATSA to SANDFIRE for a stupid high price (well no so stupid now)

I had the same feeling yesterday after reading them, i felt a bit flat. If they do produce 51kt and keep costs to sub 3.2 and CU remains up here it should make significant sums. The problem is what i calculate it should be making is not what it's making so i need to see q2. Jesus has almost left the building yesterday with a nice £312k in his tallit.
I thought the meeting was very positive, and , as always , Al was very forthright.
GLA
I was also a little disappointed this morning, however I think Q2 will be interesting and am interested to see what happens to the copper spot price over the next six months. In the Q1 results meeting Alberto seemed to be quite bullish on the copper price and said they won't be locking in at these levels and it could be a mistake to do so. Left the results meeting feeling good about the company at these all time highs, what was everyone else's thoughts/takeaways from todays result meeting?
I was underwhelmed too
"Guidance for FY2024 of 51,000 - 53,000 tonnes is unchanged due to the expectation of higher copper grades in the coming quarters and will be reviewed on an ongoing basis."
My overall impression was that improvements in the grades are going to be key this year, along with sustained higher copper price. They mention "Good cost control despite lower production..." but I'm not quite convinced on that on a first read-through. The costs were partly helped by an increased by-product credit, which is treated as an offset against AISC rather than a revenue stream in it's own right, so silver price needs to stay high as well.
Still to digest more but my focus is elsewhere today. SP at close is going to be key to next chart direction IMO.

The sale of their 20% could herald a re rating , or a bid-especially if the belief is that Touro will happen later this year, thereby substantially increasing our reserves.
There are mutliple buyers out there for Trafigura 20%.
Trafigura is a seller, but not at these levels.
