Here's an informed view on the subject - pinched from the ADVFN board earlier today. (Must say I concur entirely)...
"There has been a lot of work to eliminate the need for cobalt as a stabiliser from batrery technology. So far that hasn't been successful. Similarly, efforts to find a replacement for graphite in the battery anode have been equally unsuccessful. Yes, something like silicon would provide greater density, but graphite is superior when it comes to absorption of lithium ions during the charge cycle, as other materials swell and crack. The primary argument for eliminating cobalt from the battery is because of the ESG principles surrounding it's extraction from places like the Congo. Ultimately that can be overcome, and Vale at Voiseys Bay are an example of that. Additionally, producers in the Congo are upping their game. The lack of 'acceptable' supply resulted in cobalt prices running very high a few years ago, and that was the other worry that battery manufacturers had. The price has come down a lot, thus making it less of an issue. Research that I've done on the market leaves me pretty satisfied that cobalt will be a key battery ingredient for at least the next decade or two. In that time a lot will change as far as extraction and supply is concerned. From what Julian has said about APF's extensive due diligence into the cobalt market, it would appear they've drawn the same conclusion."
I thought you might when you saw KF Albus! To redress the balance, here's JT with Proactive today:

Thanks for that Cacher. Must say I stiffened up when I saw who it was but thought he did a lot better this time. Interviewer should have asked why he didnt participate in the placing (unless cfo s are exempt from doing so ) So I guess if there are more deals in the offing we could see another round of placing. Not particularly impressed by this Primary Bid stuff. Still not got my shares that I have bought
While I welcome the quality of the cobalt stream acquired, I would have preferred their largest aquistion to have been in a different battery element to cobalt as it is being gradually phased out of battery chemistry, so I'm not sure this will do much more than pay for itself in the long run. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I would have much prefered this capital to have gone towards lithium, nickel, graphite or a combination of those as they seem to have much brighter long term prospects even with some solid state technology.
I assume APF has considered this, yet I can find no real discussion about it in the interviews to address my concern, I just hope they haven't rushed in to this just because of the prestige of it being the Voisey Bay assest and their need to pander to ESG concerns, as that wont get us very far in the longer term.
yeah 139 to buy today
one to buy and forget in true Buffet style IMHO
Buy Long Stay Happy
thanks for that Fulmar

Just one company's take, but shows how it works f29
sold some at 140p and bought back same amount at 128p...guess missing out from Primary Bid wasn't that bad after all, seeing all the issues you guys are going through. hope it finally comes through for those still waiting.
hi, tied in that and got nothing. please advise with webpage or details. thank you
transfer your shares in "specie" no buy/sell or transaction fees-look it up.They won't like it but they have to.
I agree entirely. Think this is a disgrace. Primary bid belatedly told me shares could not go in a joint account with II and that I needed to open a sole account. This I have done and what do I get in response to my emails to primary bid....... nothing. No revised date for share transfer. Just a stunning silence. Whatever the deal I will not use primary bid again. When an AGM takes place that one can attend I plan to make JT aware of my disgust.
Had another go at Barclays. They say they have just received the transfer documents from Primary Bid and deal with it as a normal transfer which can take anything up to 20 business days. Dont think I would have bothered if I knew that before I applied - so who is making money out of it when all said and done. I bet the BOD and their mates got their shares in their personal accounts. Was KF on Holiday??
Nice move this morning. Not sure why but very welcome, esp now back above 128
Shares arrived in my Hargreaves Lansdown today people
Yes I was told the same thing. it cant be right. But I think it is a broker problem. not Primary Bid who seem to have done every thing quickly. As for the next Ex Div date well we have until early May so should be ok for that. Of course any one who wanted to sell for a quick profit that chance has gone.
I agree but disappointing to see large sells at 128p. added to the fact that many seem not yet to have received their allocation.
Fundamentals looking good, strong balance sheet. Time for me to step in here.
I think it disgraceful, esp if we miss the ex div date for the big dividend. I am with II who I will be phoning later today. But I will most definitely NOT be using primary bid again, whatever the offer. The delay in these modern times is totally unacceptable
Hi. Just been told that it could take weeks to be put in my account- Barclays. This cant be right surely. What do Primary Bid say on this sort of straight forward transaction - does anyone know - this is my first time (and probably the last)
Thanks Jay IG Index are the first to be reported here, I wonder what broker will get the wooden spoon.
not received in my acc yet - barclays
I think quite a few will trade these from the 128p price to 132p range but if JT has done a couple of real value enhancing deals we should be back around 150p in the next few months. 9p sustained divi should support this.
Many thanks. Nothing in my II account yet.
Thanks Jay
