H50... the scenario you put is more believable than Sanderson shorting XTR. Surely to short something you would have to buy back every share you sold on the way down. If it is shorting then the offloads would indicate the shorting is still in progress ? Your thinking that Sanderson could be a distressed seller makes more sense to me but then what do I know. A poster on another site is convinced the trades we are seeing is sanderson closing a short... but surely we would be seeing the buy backs if that were the case ? I firmly believe Bird would know whats going on and hope he would act in shareholders favour. His recent announcement of imminent news regarding HR and then the RNS we got is bizarre. Something is going on with those 250,000 and 500,000 trades for sure.
Someone has dumped around 100m shares in BZT over recent weeks, there was a 50m dump today in one hit, I do wonder about Sanderson, they have a large holding in BZT, their last accounts (end 2018) showed they were down 65% on their listed investments and the cash position was tight.
They are also locked into EUA and had a decent position in KIBO whose share price has collapsed, since those accounts, are they a distressed seller of their entire portfolio I wonder ?
There should be a TR1 at BZT imminently, if it is Sanderson then this would explain the continued selling of XTR, maybe Bird knows about the situation and is not releasing news on Manica for a reason?
JDAU.. whilst you are about... whats your take on the 250,000 and 500,000 transactions which have been going on for some ?
For balance, LW, and just so you don’t think I’m always interested in slamming your opinion, I actually agree with you re self imposed deadlines, i’m willing to accept that CB made that statement re a deadline prior to recent worldwide events really kicking off and so perhaps things are taking a little longer to work out - but to release other news with no mention of the news we were advised to expect is a strange move...
“Why would MMP pay us £20m for FB when they could pick up the whole of XTR for way less.”
- c’mon LittleWing, you’re a little long in the tooth for statements like that aren’t you?
What do you think would happen if someone started accumulating large amounts of shares to takeover the company - that’s right, the share price would go up based on demand and hence the market cap would too.
They absolutely could not “pick up the whole of Xtr” on the open market for less than $20m as “picking up” all those shares would cause the share price to sky rocket.
Think before you speak (...post)...
L520... Yes and has been stated by a few on here so unnecessary. Absolutely no point in promising "by the end of march" or any other date if you cannot deliver. Bird really doesn't seem to get it after all this time does he. This is why the SP is where it is and hence the MktCap at below £4m. Why would MMP pay us £20m for FB when they could pick up the whole of XTR for way less. I get that Bird loves the drilling and geographical landscapes but he needs to deliver something for shareholders.
It's not going to move the SP. Just another set of drill results, you still need to get it out of the ground.
That's why it's not moved. It may have moved the SP if it was unexpected good news but it wasn't it was expected to be hard rock news and that's why it's been taken so badly.
No doubt already consigned to the "just something Bird said" bin.... along with Omnia processing the low hanging fruit by last autumn and the Moz plant.
It is pretty clear there are some short term traders here, no doubt with fingers on the sell button if Bird does not deliver a statement tomorrow, we are in exceptional times and one must account for this, followers of Bird will know he is inconsistent but eventually reports.
Mozambique has not been seriously affected by the virus to date but travel to the country is restricted, I tend to agree with others if there is no update tomorrow then this could mean he may need more time to complete a sale transaction. If the proposed update was simply to inform of operational progress then I see no reason why it should be delayed.
I still maintain the implied management changes at XTR have not happened for a reason !
Very little downside whatever happens IMO.
He actually said 'by the end of March 2020' instead of by the end of March (and no mention of a year), which surprised me :-)
But he has never really been on time with anything previously so I'm more hopeful than expectant of that update tomorrow.
If it is late then you could equally argue that there is some sort of deal in the offing that he just needs a bit longer to get over the line... whereas if a more mundane update it would be easy to meet his offered deadline.... so I'm not sure how the share price will react if no RNS tomorrow.
It will get hammered tomorrow unless they release the promised news!!
One day left of your timeline Mr bird, you best deliver.
More 500,000 offloads at the end of trading.
This could get tonked tomorrow.
What a surprise... so that was another Bird curve ball to keep us uninformed.
I think we will as he gave such a short time deadline.
It would be ridiculous to give such a short time unless he has already been working on it. I hope he doesn't miss his own deadline as the SP will drop if he does. Not that it had much further to go lol
Whats the betting we will hear no more of this.
