There are only 3 things to look out for. New CEO, three merger if it happens and results. I wonder if Malone has sold off.
Of course its about to go red - its vodafone - it will be in The 70’s soon - run by a bunch of idiots .
I read somewhere £45bn debt, nearly twice market cap, is that correct?
Great info but SP about to go red ffs
good bit info you found there wisebear.
Price T Rowe Associates Inc. MD increased its position by 16% during the third quarter and now owns more than 20 million shares of the company. Arrowstreet Capital Limited Partnership has also raised its position in shares by 141%, now owning over four million shares worth approximately $67 million. Easterly Investment Partners LLC bought a new stake in Vodafone Group Public during the fourth quarter valued at $17,251,000.
ICICI Prudential Asset Management Co Ltd also boosted its stake in Vodafone Group Public by almost 26% during the fourth quarter, bringing its holdings to over seven million shares worth approximately $74 million. Finally, Renaissance Technologies LLC increased its holding by 5.7% during the first quarter, now owning over 27 million shares worth nearly $458 million.
Citigroup analysts recently began coverage on NASDAQ-listed Vodafone Group Public in a research report, according to The Fly. The brokerage set a “neutral” rating for the cell phone carrier’s stock. Since then, several institutional investors have made changes to their positions in VOD.
share price is very low, surprisingly low. lets hope vod has a few plans lined up and reward the long term holders and supporters of vod.
'What influence can they gain now if they want to sell of their stake?'
Hutch are one of the largest foreign investors in UK. Embarrassing for uk plc taking foreign investors money then regulating their profits away. who is to blame?
Not sure I understand Chinese Influence. Three already operates in UK. What influence can they gain now if they want to sell of their stake?
The politicians voicing concerns about Chinese influence says to me a deal is in the offing…..
VOD needs to have management control to get it through….
CKHH will be interested in capital return and allegedly wants to sell down its stake and exit over time…..starting off with less than 50% ownership is a pre-requisite.
I cant see MDV kitchen sinking the earnings outlook. She is delivering the €1Bn savings, indexed revenues and oversaw the investment in growth (project spring). A new CEO might but they would need to be appointed before earnings are reported.
Think it largely comes down to GDP in Germany and UK. If +ve outlook, VOD will be positive.
This Porsche guy is something else, Way over the top, I like his crazy humour, far better than moaning all the time. We all know he is a nutter, but I need a laugh. At least he won't accuse me of being a bully?
Danny boy to Broadsword. I did heed your warnings & sold all my vodafone shares on april the 1st!
The clue in your post is " unless it is a sell.
Subsequently more buys also seen"....

"Wow looking at 2025 to 2030 so far away. This long of holding maybe difficult for some. You are taking 7 to 10 years."
That's my minimum horizon.
Invest in well managed companies that are clearly going places and will own the world in 7 to 10 years. VOD ain't one of them. Previous management and investors lumbered it with too much debt. It now has to sell off key assets instead of investing for growth.
And never buy a company just because it pays a div.
yes it was a UT . A UT uncrossing trade is where buyers and sellers on the ask match together in a single trade at the end of an auction period. Unless the things have changed. Happy to be informed further
Do you know what a UT trade is?

At 16.35 today there is a £20million buy for 23,36,496 unless it is a sell.
Subsequently more buys also seen
Not sure what is going on?
It's not looking good again Danny boy. Down 2.2p sadly. You failed to heed my warnings.

well, this cycle of new 5G connectivity and everything related to it hasn't fully begun yet , but the tech is now there for it and VOD has all that ..... the new era of tracking every part of the logistics system and tracking every part of energy use within a product life etc is now beginning and the use all that data through 5G and connected to all areas of business are where the likes of VOD will increase their revenues.....5G driverless cars etc 5G wireless cameras on drones to transmit images straight to production editors located anywhere in the world....the scope is absolutely enormous ..and I guess 2025-30 is the period when it should really come into its own ...after this crisis we currently have passes ( they probably are creating a crisis in order that we realise we have to change the way we do things )
"their pension pot is gonna to play havoc, they need to look to spinning out some parts of the business to pay down debt."
BT, or Vodafone?
I assume you're talking about BT, since most of Vodafone's pensions are Defined Contribution and the CWW final salary scheme was bought out years ago.
As far as BT's debt, nearly a third of the £19 Billion debt is lease liabilities, so Financial debt is around £13 Billion. Due to exchange and building closure programs, the lease liability portion of the headline debt should reduce dramatically over the next 8 to 10 years. BT looks pretty good financially and will look much better once the current FTTP and 5G capex comes to an end.
'Third Industrial Revolution'
The way I think of it is that the product lifecycle is like a normal distribution curve. In the case of the 3rd industrial revolution/5g/ internet etc, the tail of the cycle is very very long and flat/ sloping down and skewed 30 years to the right. You might consider we are already in the 3rd phase with software defined solutions replacing hardware and moated regulation ensuring it isnt a chaotic process. It might be 2024 or 2025 before the SP reflects the longevity but the terminal rate has nearly settled imo.
