Totally agree and said it all along TXP should run this operation themselves for years.
Maybe anyone in contact with ceo can screen shot these posts and show depth of commitment here with him/txp just in case a silly offer is made.
Want to be here for years earning dividends
Not even a player unless trading 10k shares a throw, or owning 5 million shares for pound party.
I don't think many here would be happy being taken out at £1.50 given future potential here. Hope it doesn't happen for a few years and a few more successful drills!
Speaking out and saying anything that might even hint at local politics is a no win situation at the best of times but even worse is during an election or change of government.
Both NGC will now be able to conclude their business in the knowledge that the prime minister has not been altered although they prefer to wait until the oil minister has been announced and sounded out.
After all TXP is in the market for more exploration ground.
MD, I agree, they have to agree the NGC deal and saying anything can set "hares running", with politicians getting involved etc. He is best saying nothing.
Getting interesting, does the buyer have deep pockets.
A friend always works it out as a 40% premium on a t/o. I would be gutted to get taken out at little over a £1 and want similar to Brighty with my small holding..
I don't there's been radio silence. I think it's simply just that the company has plenty to be getting on with, in previous interviews with PB he doesn't like to discuss the possibility just the facts. I assume the NGC deal is closing up and he doesn't want to upset the gov by saying anything out of turn until it's all been cleared.
Yes, it feels a bit quiet at the moment from TXP HQ. This happened pre takeovers of my investments in Rock Rose Energy, Aldermore, LRd, QP, Game etc when radio silence was the name of the game and then out of the blue a takeover was announced. I have the same gut reaction here with TXP that Shell or ANother big player is going to make a bid. I hope not as I was keen to achieve a minimum of £2.50 - £3.00 before even considering an exit from TXP. I'm up x 5 already so can't complain but do not want to see TXP sold for several years. Good luck, Brighty
Well Bully if I get offered £1.50 I’d be insulted, Cascadura is worth that alone atm imho, given gas is now the must have hydrocarbon, if the next drill comes in £1.50 no chance way north.
Worth looking at Carapal ridge and what BG paid for 65%

Dana, considering NORTH`s 12,6 mill shares it seems like a long way to go ? Even if "they-whoever they are" already are supported by other major holders of TXP ?
Norb, once you get to 30% you have to make an offer.
What is the treshold of a controlling interest according to AIM rules ?
Even with constant buying, i don't think they can get a controlling interest.
We should expect more from NORTH than from a PI. If there is a real interest from someone with a deep pocket they probably called NORTH a long time ago. So I am sure NORTH has not sold. Still sitting at their 12,6 mill shares. I am also open to the idea that whoever is buying, they might do so based on an agreement with NORTH. You are probably right about the merger as the main reason for their previous selling. They had to pay almost MGBP 2 in dividends to a minority interest (Chairman and advisors) prior to the merger which was approved by Company Register in Norway on July 28th.
Corpse,
I think that previously, North were selling to raise funds for their merger.
I think that they were doing so on the basis of reaching their specified target price and were quite happy to see the SP drift up once they had hit their daily target.
What we saw yesterday was aggressive selling to try to keep the price down, or in a particular price range.
This is often a precursor to the usual 'The offer price X is at a premium of Y% to the average daily price of Z in the preceding five days.'
We are sitting on a share that easily has the potential to be £1.50 by the end of the year, and £3 by the end of next with nothing more happening.
It should come as no surprise to any of us that the potential has been spotted by someone with deep pockets, we are a sitting duck with the SP at its current level.
Dana, this has been going been going on for weeks so not surprised if buyer holding a %. Like you said getting interesting.
Looks to me like we have a very significant change in strategy here.
It seems that there is very good buying activity and someone is selling hard to suppress the price.
It could be the usual approach of lending out shares so that no TR1 has to be made.
I think that we have a sea change and I suspect that we have the same pattern as we had with RRE,
Looks like this is orchestrated, as many a concert is.
I shall watch with interest, something is definitely afoot, imho.
Don't take the first, or any offer.
Was in the Netherlands so unable to comment today.
