Usual rubbish to end yet another week of Smithesque irrelevant posts. Now is the weekend - I wonder what gibberish he will amuse us with ....
Sorry, I planned to end all my future posts with a signature to save the resident prat sending out green posts!
"All absoloute rubbish, as usual!"
How do people feel about this theory?
I notice that quite a few trades today are for multiples of 1000 and 5000 shares?
When I buy shares I deposit the money and then try to use it all which is extremely unlikely to produce such numbers?
Selling some of your holdings might well induce such ball park numbers because who'll need an amount that is accurate to a few pennies (currently)?
Selling a complete holding will obviously however produce very random numbers.
The spread did not change all day, and every trade was higher than the uncrossing trade last night. I agree the might be buys rather than sells - a mixture of buys and sells would surely change the trade prices and maybe move the spread? But that would prove my theory wrong. Some don't think it matters, but anybody considering buying into this stock will surely wait for a lower price if they believe every trade was sell! And if they are all buys, the contra! They'll snap up that trade price before it rises! And what is said on these posts is influential too which is why dereampers bother when the good news is obvious!
Again all the trades today are buys .. but shown as sells .. it really. Is a nonsense .. if you can’t show as is then just show as a trade non defined
Silly me, I somehow pasted over this detail
"The Straight Line Air Flying Distance from Mogadishu Somalia to Gaborone Botswana 2259.99 miles or 3637.11 km"
HAS HE REPLIED NASIR? I have vowed to avoid reading his rubbish from today onwards - I think someone who quotes info from Somalia when talking about Botswana has severely lost the plot! Is that on topic?
These are comparable distances from London - all very long Tx lines, even if 500 miles is be lopped off the trip to Tehran?
Tehran, Iran 2735 Miles 4401.56 Km
Trieste, Italy 752 Miles 1210.23 Km
Marrakech, Morocco 1431 Miles 2302.97 Km
Moscow, Russia 1554 Miles 2500.92 Km
Here there everywhere..... You can run but you can’t hide ..... I will find you. I have skills.....
Smith - please let me reply to people that post to me. I am a big boy and can speak for myself. Be a good chap!!
Good one Nasir - I think we can safely assume you will not get an answer!
Either that or you'll get 3 replies from different names here, and another one, in blue , on ADVFN.
I wish I'd seen that quote and thought of your teaser :O)
I have been consistent for years on Tlou.... you are posting on Tlou for years??? Under this username?
Many many companies use social media nowadays it is far from uncommon. Your perception is negative because you only see the hype side of organised gangs of rempers tweeting nonsense to inflate the shareprice. I'm invested in 5 companies and only one doesn't use twitter.
Maybe you're of an age that is not used to social media but believe me it will and is playing an increasingly important role in the way companies interact and communicate with their shareholders and I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with that. It can fill the gaps between official rns and keeps investors informed as to what is going on.
I think you've intentionally misinterpreted those recent tweets. They only just raised money in the market and have said they're expecting to raise cash from a Botswana entity this quarter. If you wanted to raise more cash from PI's you wouldn't tweet about the company and then leave it for weeks, twitter works on a much faster timeframe. Those tweets are already forgotten by most!
To me they seemed like a genuine release of frustration in finally knowing that they now had the means to get this project up and running and to want to communicate this to their longstanding shareholders but the cynic will always try and spin it another way.
I am so relieved you feel I have tried to answer your questions. As for you not being able to interpret points in my previous posts, well actually I don’t think the problem in that lies with me.
I have been consistent for years on Tlou - they over-promise and under-deliver. That is both their fault and Govt/Ministry fault. But Tlou operate there so should be familiar enough with how the system is there (far far far more than posters on message boards) and still management continually over-emphasised on matters.
The Botswana ERP published last year showed a meagre allocation of CBM generated power by 2025 - 4 years ahead. What do Tlou do? They start ramping up with tweets and optimism - why? Coz they were running out of cash. Again.
Now, like you (I think), I understand the need to play the long term when investing in any company; especially so when one is introducing something new into an established market place.
But, apart from money invested by Africa Alliance (fund manager) on behalf of the Bots Pension Fund, Tlou has no other significant institutional shareholder. So they decide to rely on social media to promote themselves. Fair enough, that is their right to decide how to market their company.
But let me ask you this - do you think a strategy of promoting on social media to a retail investor audience is going to be the way to establish an important Energy player in a new market?
But hey, we all try to make the best of what we have got .... right.
Well thats probably the first time you've attempted to answer a question so I guess that's progress however you failed to give an alternative to connecting to the grid to produce revenue, so I guess you do actually agree with the strategy but are just not happy with the amount of energy and the time it's taken which is a different thing to what you were saying the other day.
Fwiw I think once the transmission line is in place scaling up will be easy, everything is modular so it's just a case of purchasing additional units and hooking them up or hooking up solar panels. The hard bit was getting to that point.
On my second question you've at least tried to answer it but haven't really give any specifics other than the usual 'it's Botswana it takes longer' we'll we don't really know how long it takes to begin with but from what I've seen and read I think the timescale is doable even in Botswana. As I said the other day all the delay has mostly been government related and that's pretty much the same in any country nothing unique to Botwana. I read that getting a new power line connection installed typically takes around 10 years from initial idea inception to full completion including all the red tape, regulatory and environmental hurdles (in first world countries) so by that measure TG hasn't done too badly.
Private contractors will have clauses that set out expectations of time to completion and possibly penalties for overruns drawn into their contract awards. The only possible hurdle I'll concede is the money running out before we get the money from our backer but once they begin work the prospect of the funder dragging their heel further, risking delaying the connection seems very remote to me. Most times once a project begins and starts to gather momentum it has a snowball effect. The closer the end goal gets (when people can actually see dollar revenues close) the more it tends to focus attentions! Indeed I actually expect the financing to be announced before work on the line begins, ie. this quarter.
Tlou have been connecting to the grid since 2017 - 4 years later finally they may soon start the construction work that allows them to finally connect. And in 4 years of strategy and effort since 2017, they still want to connect a piddly amount of power - sometime in 2022 all being well.
Sure, they can grow the amount from there - how long will that take?! Another year?
My beef isn’t that they are taking so long - for goodness sake I have been the one saying things would take way longer than posters here (and management) said it would take.
I have been consistent about unachievable timelines due to problems of getting things done in Botswana.
As to problems of getting the transmission line built within the year - the simplest answer is Tlou will need further funding in order to complete construction of the 66kV line. Plus they are just appointing contractors now; plus a 100km is a decent length; plus it’s Africa and things just take longer there; plus can you give me one compelling reason why the work will get done super quick......
End of the day, that is only my opinion on length of time the work will take. Plus I already told you that before.
Donk I've asked you two simple questions over the last couple of days, namely how else are tlou supposed to derive revenue if not through getting connected to the grid at Serowe and what specific problems do you see holding up this phase of work actually connecting us to the grid?
Neither of these simple questions have you been able or willing to answer so therefore I have to assume that you have nothing worth listening to. You can't make cheap points and expect people to respect and listen to those points when you yourself can't explain them or back them up! Answer the questions posed and we can have a proper debate or don't answer and continue to receive zero credibility for your views.
Most of the inane drivel and name calling has come from you moagi - clowns, tubes, geniuses etc.
This BB has gone down hill since you turned up with your air of superiority.
It's clear to see you are knowledgeable about TLOU's history but also clear to see that the lack of progress is eating you up inside to the point of abusing people.
Anyway that's me done for a while, good luck to all the genuine holders.
When are you going to understand that the sp does not matter to genuine LTH!
It matters to day traders - but I treat everyone as LTH as does TG - I never put money on Mo Farah leading a race after 100m because the finishing line is that counts for the medals!
But I guess you never bet on him because he had won all his races, so like TG , he must be due for a fall cos you say so!
Winners are not winners by accident! Nincompoops are however. Dropped at birth I reckon?
Why don’t you geniuses tell me why, after so much incredible success in the past 3 years, the share price still sucks.
One poster dares to push back on the inane drivel put up here. And the best you can do is stoop to personal attacks - really guys, try harder please.
He doesn't get anything right Thornback. Of all the people to pick that I may or may not influenced - it is a bit of an insult to their intellect imho - he chooses BTS! The same BTS who put a few £k into Tlou just last week! I wondered who he is misrepresenting , and BTS would have been the last one on my list. Absolute zero has a new definition - it is his IQ!
Bournemouth up to 3rd after their 7th consecutive win! Only Man Utd have 5 consecutive wins from last 5 on their league record - Port Vale lost their's with a draw. but got a win afterwards.
Jeezus moagi, you're now speaking on behalf of other posters.
Why are you actually on this BB..?
You just sound like such a bitter individual..!
Another predictable boring wall of text - you really do try too hard. Earlier your smart arse post tried to define disingenuous. Here's an easier definition - anything posted by you
Wise up App. Too many posters are on boards for no purpose other than to ramp stock suiting their short-term or day trading needs. Equity shareholders would no doubt like short term gains but the reality is they are the providers of long term capital.
My posts consistently urged caution over the years; they didn’t say do not invest in Tlou. And recently I came forward and changed my view that imo macro conditions in Botswana had changed for the better and therefore I was finally more bullish about chances of investment success here.
If anything, posters like Smith are problematic. He has high-jacked the board to help navigate his lockdown boredom. Go ask posters like Bythesea whether he now wishes he had / had not been swayed by opinions shared here by Smith, MM and others churning nothing other than endless positivity about Tlou.
And check the menu above re opinions on stock - No Opinion, Strong Buy, Weak Buy, Buy, Sell, Weak Sell, Strong Sell.
Is the penny dropping yet? Or are you a Tlou stooge in disguise, given your (completely off-track) implication as to my motives for posting here?
I wonder if it was mandatory to have a verified account here. To the point you were definitively identifiable; who would continue to post. Brad certainly - Mr Moagi not so much. As I have always said about these boards - it's not what people say - it's why they are saying it.
I doubt very much they will just have one gang erecting the poles, more likely it will be several gangs working around 10km apart. More of an incentive to finish the job quickly and get paid.
Cannot imagine what the filtered one found to criticise - with absolutely no comprehension he would have missed the fact that a 5 minute erection makes the poles trivial! Which leaves the fittings and cables process?
Donk may have produced this video (on the same page as many other videos) - be warned. his diction is so fast you'll have a job to keep up with him! It is why the tx lines in his tiny mind are going to take years - if his mouth works at the same speed as his brain?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnJsUavhjQY
I've actually ticked one of Brad's posts, probably need to get my temperature checked ASAP.
Donk I don't see why you're still so negative unless you just enjoy being negative for no particular reason. I can definitely see this next stage being finished within a year. 5 + poles per day seems entirely doable if not 10 as Brad says and as Winnie says another gang will be following on rigging the cables. The substations and any intermediate stations will be installed at the same time by the other company so I really don't see how you can be so negative. I'm sure by now we have enough CBM flowing to supply the initial 2 MW and we have the interim power purchase agreement in place so literally as soon as we're connected we can start getting paid.
If you want to be negative thats fine but please explain specifically why and which part of this phase you believe will be a problem?
