so is it possible the big players could just wait for solg to go bust and then sweep up the whole lot for peanuts ?
Not long
well how much longer can they just keep burning money without selling something ?
Presumably to preserve cash...?
Solg has suspended all regional drilling according to Fawzi
Delusional more like
Dear board. Do something worthy of our admiration and respect or list the various lots on eBay with a sensible reserve, or a sealed bid auction. I’ve had enough.
I am confused is Solgold drilling other sites or not.
latest RNS expressed a great deal of confidence (or bluster, depending upon your point of view) that finance will be available and many options are available.
Note to the Board: Get on with it and deliver asap.
I will say today's announcement should provide confidence to potential funders that the copper market is alive and well and it will make the task of them dipping into their pockets a great deal easier...hopefully!
Fortissimo,
You say talk of recession is for producers of today, really?
Should the recession we are about to go into last for a few years then who is going to buy these electric cars and with what? Who would build factories not knowing how China is going to respond with the Meddling USA, no cheap parts, metal products and so the list goes on and on, this carbon free by 2050 will be out of the window
Anyway, not a good place to be at the moment with what is going on

You don't seem to of factored in the equity raises they will need to make into your assessment, or the boards performance since the discovery/ies, and blackrock are just as capable of buying a dog of a share as anyone else.
Mathersfinger, not sure I understand your near term vs a buyers view? A buyer of SOLG will be looking at the likely development costs over the next 5 years which if we are heading into a recession will certainly be nice and cheap. By the time the globe recovers and the green army are back on track, we'll see copper into the $4's and $5's and $6's before 2029.
I think you misunderstand M&A. You don't want to buy assets when miners are booming and all is bullish. You want to buy when investors are nervous and thinking a 'bird in the hand is better than two in the bush'.
The price that wins is the price that shareholders accept and that's the bulk of it. Norges and black rock haven't been buying at 28's and 35's to hand over their shares for a pony 35% return. They will want 100% return. You have to remember that SOLG's assets are likely to be producing when there is a huge copper demand and deficit. Talk of recessions are for producers of today to worry about.
IMO we are overdue a metals boom and a Junior Miner M&A spree...
Copper shortages impact from second half 2023 and with 400 million tonnes having gone missing last week and the Chinese thing to corner the market its only a matter of time before both SOLG and ATYM outperform...
Fortissimo,
Very simplistic view don’t you think?
So a recession is on us very soon, food, energy, borrowing and mortgages going up, the demand is still needed for our resources but not so soon imo, I can see a long game played here or a very cheap deal coming if the BOD’s are not savvy

Oz minerals share price jumped to $25+ on the news - so market thinks the final offer will be higher.
On a similar basis, if SOLG had a 29p offer, it 's not going to fly on the basis that NCM and bulk if II's are holding stock with averages near 26p to 30p. They won't be selling for that. Most that took the placings over the last few years (in the mid 20's would have done with the firm belief that doubling their money to 50p+ would be a worst case scenario.
I would expect the opening bid for SOLG to be around 40p level and then either go for another 50% to 60p or 100% to 80p.
Surely a 32% premium gives a price of 29p...?
If BHP can bid $8.3 billion then bidding for Solgold would be small change, even at a 200% premium...
32% premium? for us, that will be less than 0.3 per share. not sure that's what we wait for but could explain how the current situation serves BHP. Need a third party interest here.

Shame that bid wasnt heading our way...............grrrrrrrrrr
11 trade gla let's see this week if any news comes up
OZ minerals closed up at $25.6 based on that $17.67 bid offer so looks like the market already thinking $25 to $30 more likely.
Our time will come.
Low ball indeed, but I suspect they fully intend to work their way higher. They started low ball with Noront too at 55cents and moved to 75cents. Will be interesting to see if they move up by 40%+ again. I suspect $26 a share is where it's likely to end up.
Morning, I have too much on with work this morning to do a copy and paste job (PDFs are tricky), but SOLG is featured in Q3's LATAM Investor Magazine.

"BHP chief executive Mike Henry said BHP was disappointed with the rejection of the offer, which represented a 32.1 per cent premium to Friday’s closing price, and a 41.4 per cent premium to Oz Minerals’ 30-day weighted average of $17.67 a share."
Low ball....
Its mid winter in Brisbane...
